Great food, generous portions. We had spring rolls to start. I had the clay pot of rice with seafood. Tasty and nice quantity of seafood. My friend had curry that was excellent. I put some of her sauce on my rice & seafood and it was DE-LISH! Unfortunately, the service needs help. We didn't feel welcome and the older woman serving has an unfriendly attitude. A smile would go a long way and when a customer thanks you, it is appropriate to respond with "you're welcome" or at least an acknowledgment. The younger man seemed happy to have customers, but I don't think the older lady wants anyone in the restaurant. The menu was extensive, though and we enjoyed the food. We come to Salisbury often and we'll probably go back for thr food quality, but I do hope they do something to make the service is more friendly and welcoming. read more

This would be 5 out of 5, but the summer rolls are just ok (loosely rolled with just lettuce, shrimp, and noodles--no herbs or sprouts) and the place could use a good scrub down. That being said, the pho is absolutely fantastic. Broth is super rich and savory with the complex flavors and seasonings that traditional pho is known for., Veggies are always fresh, and meat is usually well portioned. Ok I'm giving this place five stars because of where the restaurant is located. Salisbury md has some of the worst food in the country. This place really stands out in this god forsaken part of the country. If you are new to Vietnamese food give Pho a try. I recommend the Pho with eye round. Like most reviewers said, the food is great but the service is just okay. Awesome place to get carry-out, five stars because the food is so good. When we ate in our server seemed very distracted (there were lots of kids chasing each other around) and she was a bit impatient with us when we weren't ready to order right away. We were with a pretty large group and we were unfamiliar with the menu. When we asked for suggestions she said every thing is good. Really a shame. It looks like they've remodeled and the place looks fantastic which indicates that they are trying to revamp themselves. The Good: The food was great. I had the pho (just to be boring and on the safe side). Great flavors and very comparable to all the other pho dishes I've had. Tofu pad thai was also very nice. The Bad: Looking at the other reviews, this complaint is not coming out of left field. The service is bad because it does not exist. In the end we had to walk into the kitchen to let someone know that we were ready to pay. Um...really? Verdict: This is really sad to see. I feel for this place because the place is nice and they have great food but if they just had someone looking after the customers in the right way, they could retain a customer base in Salisbury. The first impression was the buzzing fly, not a good sign for just opened, one act show. The world is a stage at Viet Taste. Find a one man who is a non greeter/just seat your ass in-order taker-server-cashier-manager-owner, except cook. He will navigate the floor, exits, enters, and repeat. And this is the reason, you got to wait. The system is to get you in, serve you food quickly, and make you wait for whatever you need. This means minus good old system of 15% tip? It's a family owned small business and this small restaurant is run by 2-3 people in my good darn estimation. The food, Viet & Thai was good and the only place in Salisbury, MD of its kind. "Remember the time we ate at that nasty place in Salisbury and we were literally afraid to sit back on the booths because they were so gross?" Seriously wanted a shower after that experience. Great place! The food was amazing. We had crispy spareribs that were in small bites and taste like southern fried pork chops with a flavorful batter. The kimchee was good considering this isn't a Korean restaurant, although it features other types of Asian cuisine besides Vietnamese. The menu is large and varied. The pho with meatballs was excellent. The Singapore noodles with pork were just right--a nice stir fry of vermicelli noodles with vegetables and curry. The lemongrass beef described on menu as SPICY did not disappoint. It was delicious and had no need of additional chili sauce. We can't wait to try other things on this impressive menu. read more

Not impressed. I walked in, no one greeted me. There was a man at the counter on his computer. I asked him could I eat in and he said I could sit at any table. All of the tables were dirty. I sat at the table and he didn't offer to clean it, he just have me a menu and a glass if water. I had to ask him to wipe the table. When my friend and I first walked in I was very skeptical even though he has sworn by this place. There was a bunch of things just piled up in the walk in area and then when I sat down the table was sticky and the cloth covering the booths felt like it really needed to be washed. Our server was a little awkward but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Since it was my first time I figured I would order something that you can't go wrong with, chicken and rice. It was hands down the best chicken and rice I've had from anywhere in the area. I was completely amazed. We love your restaurant, too. One of the things I love about it is that it IS a small family owned restaurant. When I dine there, I can expect excellent food that was personally prepared for me. And, I am not bombarded by a waitress/waiter that is constantly interrupting my conversation so she/he can ask if I need some more to drink (a rhetorical question considering that one look at a glass would be the best indicator). Same great Pho and good food with a huge menu. Sadly it's always the same awful service. Not greeted, no smile, no welcome. You really feel like you are inconveniencing them when you walk in. The waiter seemed miserable and more interested in watching TV than focusing on customers. Normally the unfriendly owner waits on tables and is always in the weeds/ understaffed. This could be one of the busiest places on delmarva if it had the right owners/management. I've been here a few times when visiting my student. The food is fresh, flavorful and well made. We have had Phenom Phen noodles, a clay pot and soups amongst other things. Really enjoyed the pho soup and garlic chicken at first. My wife and I kept coming back for more. However, the more and more we order the more inconsistent it is. Ingredients were missing each time we order and then we would have to pull stuff out of our fridge to make it complete which defeats the whole purpose of eating out. Even when ordering two of the same pho their ingredients are different! The garlic chicken had been fine until the last order. Used to be the rice was in a separate small container with the other container for the garlic chicken. However, last time the rice was in the container with a measly amount garlic chicken.
