Pho with beef tendon and broccoli
    Erin L.

I enjoyed it! Not out of this world special but food was very comforting and convenient for us. The beef tendon in our pho was so, so good. For the broccoli, we were hoping for Chinese broccoli? But having regular broccoli was fine. Portion was large and easily fed 2 people.

Small Veggie pho with clear beef soup base - $9.49. Very good soup for cold day!

Love the veggie pho here! For the small bowl, it came packed with a variety of vegetables from broccoli, carrots, cabbage, green pepper, green onion, tofu, and mushroom! The soup base was a choice between beef or chicken and I chose the beef one. It tasted very good, no msg, and awesome to warm you up on a freezing cold day. I fell in love with the soup so much that I had to get a second filling, which to my surprise came for free at no additional charge! The pho itself was pretty regular but with the soup and the veggies, it did its job at filling up my hunger. The dish also came with the bean sprouts, mint, and a slice of lime on the side. There's free wifi at the store. Price was decent but you could only pay only in debit or cash for meals below $25. Store was not at all busy for a Saturday evening with plenty of seats. Would def return for the soup!

Delicious laksa, although not authentic in the slightest. I appreciate the quick service, food was also very good value for my buck. For $18 after tax and tips, amazing. Love the yin Yang noodles.

Food: 4 Stars Service: 4 Stars Ambience: 4 Stars Me and my partner were looking to grab something to eat quickly and stumbled on this restaurant. It looked alright from the outside so we gave it a try. We ordered the vermicelli and a small Penang Laksa noodles. I was surprised when the food arrived as I was expecting very little food but what we got were fairly generous portions. The taste was fairly good. The Laksa was not too spicy and had a nice, light curry taste. The noodles and the meat were fairly standard, no complaints. My partner really enjoyed the vermicelli as well so overall the experience was satisfying. The staff was attentive and fairly friendly. We got our food quickly and they did check in on us and refill our drinks. The space itself looked clean and the decor was not bad. There were about 10 tables but were spaced out and did not feel cramped at all. Overall this place was a nice find. The prices are reasonable and the food was pretty good. I would definitely come back again if I was looking for food in the area. A fairly solid choice.

Large bowl of pho will make you fulp for the entire day. Broth is not oily pretty authentic tasting even though it does not seem to be run by Vietnamese folks. Free wifi.

Noodle was way too salty and owner did not speak English and got my order completely wrong. Told the owner the noodle was way too salty and then just added some hot water to the noodle as a remedy.

I got the sliced beef pho and it was pretty good. I wished I had more lime slices because I like my pho with lots of lime, but overall I was happy. The portion was huge! We also got the spring rolls which were very good as well.

After searching on Yelp for a good Vietnamese Pho place near Spadina Station, this was a top pick. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by the staff and shown to our seats. The menu was a tad confusing at first but turns out the House Special Noodle is basically Pho with all the toppings included - so we ordered two large Pho bowls and a side of Thai Spring Rolls. The large portion is actually pretty filling and we were very pleased with that! There was even some soup left over. They accidentally gave us the Shrimp Rolls but after quickly rectified that and gave us our Spring Rolls - they tasted alright but I've had better ones that are larger and more flavourful in Toronto. The restaurant is very clean and the staff are quite attentive. They mostly accept cash and debit, but will accept credit card for orders over $25. Overall, I was pleased with the taste of the Pho and if I'm in the area would swing by again.

My Sweet was feeling a bit ill, and so we came here to satisfy my love for Pho and also to help soothe his sore throat. It was such a pleasure! I really enjoyed the atmosphere - it was spacious, clean, and modern. We consulted with our waitress about what to order, and she was super patient, kind, and helpful. We both got the house special, and we both got it with a curry broth and different kinds of meat. We also ordered the spring rolls (those were just okay - nothing too special, to be frank). Okay, but the Pho was so amazing. Every bite was like a hug for your mouth - and the embrace followed all the way down to your tummy (I am aware that that was a creepy analogy, I apologize), spreading warmth throughout your entire body. There are so many great places to eat Pho in Toronto, but this was a definitely a great one!

I stopped by here while looking for some food after a night out in Bloor Annex and seeing a new face serving Pho I had to try it out. There wasn't anyone inside when I got there (around 11PM), but even if it was full there is plenty of seating to be had. The decor is more modern and trendy than most Pho places, but some of the tables are cramped. There were a lot of items on the menu but my mind was only focused on one thing: Pho. I got the special house noodle soup, but you can also build your own bowl (same option for Vermicelli) and there's tons of other Viet-Thai and SEA options. The bowl it came out on was absolutely massive with a lot of noodles and meats. It looked amazing, but once I dug in I realize the taste didn't live up to the visual feast for eyes. It was kind of bland so I had to make up for it with a lot of siracha/hoisin sauce and the beef cuts weren't the highest quality. The tripe and meatballs tasted fine. The broth wasn't exactly flavorful and was the most disappointing aspect. Well since I was hungry and it was late I managed to easily finish the whole thing. Do I recommend it? I like to say I know my Pho and there are much better places around in the city. The service was also eh... the waitress did not look like she wanted to be there at all. Still the portion you get for the price is impressive and it's serviceable Pho. I wouldn't come back, but who knows? Maybe a cold winter night may suddenly make it an appealing option...

Not a bad choice if you're looking for comfort noodles (and rice) near the UofT campus. The atmosphere is nicer than most traditional Vietnamese restaurants and the service is good. I've been here twice, the first time I tried the Laksa noodles and I really enjoyed them. Plenty of chicken, tofu, and veggies + great soup. I tried the bbq chicken on rice during my second visit and the chicken was well-flavoured and cooked nicely. If the rice cake with Vietnamese sides such as egg cake and shredded pork (that you find at more traditional Vietnamese restaurants) it would be perfect. I can't comment much on the Pho because I only tried a bit, but the soup wasn't as flavourful as other places in Chinatown / uptown.

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

We decided to walk up to Queen Street to see something we hadn't seen and seemed like a good area with a wide variety of restaurants. I was almost writing this review for the one on Dundas Street, but realized there are a few locations in downtown. Glad I double checked. We walked up along Spadina to Queen, not all the way up to Dundas. We were weighing options, but we were unsure what we wanted and struggled. We almost ended up at another restaurant with live music outside, but we weren't being served and wasn't enthusiastic about their menu. So, we looked at a couple of options. We didn't want Chipotle or Chick Fil-A; I can get that anytime as I live near those in Maryland. Also, I wanted cuisine that was harder to find near where I live. Ultimately, we settled on Mogouyan Hand-Pulled Noodles. After a lot of hunger trying to decide, this ended up being an excellent choice. Server was friendly answering our questions. It was moderately priced. We got their hand-pulled noodles, which was a large bowl, and was delicious with beef, veggies, & plenty of noodles. I also got their Japanese Toki brand whiskey. This was a FINE choice at a reasonable price. We got into some conversation with the server about being from the US and various other topics. This was an excellent experience, highly recommend.

The weather in Toronto this week has been in the 20's and 30's! The restaurant does serve the dodgers when they are in town! If it's good enough for them... I ordered a Canadian whiskey to start off. It was very nice and smooth. I think it was a Sleeman and sons? Not positive but I really liked it! Then the food. I ordered the first roll from every section. There were some repeats which he advised me would happen but I didn't mind! The sushi was so tender and had great flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and that was really really good. I would order that definitely next time and come here again!

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
