Stopped by to get our pho fix. It's been a minute since we were last here. The food is as good as I last remember. The service was superb. The staff were very welcoming and carried conversations with us, as well as continually checking in on us. Highly recommend.

Dang I love this place. I've been coming here since they opened. Best eggrolls in this hemisphere and look at that shrimp they're servicing with the EFY. Yum! I can't stop giving them five stars, especially after putting up with my friend "Karen" with dietary limitations last Saturday. So sorry on her behalf. I love you all

I recently visited this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised about the new look of the place. From the floor to the ceiling was everything changed. It is clean, friendly, nice pictures on the wall, flowers on the table. Very welcoming. We ordered some spring rolls, Wonton soup, (tried their Tamarind soup too.) Entries were Tom Rim shrimp and Singapore noodles. All were very delicious. Lots of flavors, good portion, affordable price. We were lucky having Christy, the owner to serve us. She is kind, attentive, very professional. She cares about her business. I loved the relaxed vibe in the restaurant. I highly recommend Vietnam Star. I will return to this place

Hands down the BEST Vietnamese restaurant in the metro. Christy, the owner makes everyone who comes in feel like family. The food is of the highest quality, fresh and large servings. Prices are very reasonable. Personally I love the Pho, beef and potatoes and the tofu noodle salad but it's the authentic Vietnamese egg rolls that will keep us coming back. ;-)

    Valuable message.

Proteins all served at correct doneness in the Pho Dac Biet so you get the tougher cuts well done and rendered and the thin steak raw so it cooks in the broth. Great side accompaniments, Thai basil still on the stalk and living, fresh bean sprouts, Sri Racha and chiles in oil depending on your tastes, squirt bottle of hoisin. The only tiny nitpick I have is I wish they had bigger spoons available for those of us who like to mix sauces and soup in the spoon instead of muddying up the bowl. Also Vietnamese coffee is prepared old fashioned, not in a boba cup where you can't tell if it was made just now or weeks ago. Great service. This is a tiny little joint which is exactly what you expect from a world class Pho place.

In terms of food, there is a mixture of Burmese, Thai, and Karen dishes, and each one that my friends and I have ordered has been a hit. The tea leaf salad has amazing texture because of peanuts and fried garlic, which provide crunchiness, and has amazing flavor because of lemon juice, fish sauce, and tomatoes. The noodle salad has a light taste without adding the given lime piece, and then the rich nutty taste gets evoked and elevated upon adding lime juice. The zaap crispy has very well-seasoned fried chicken pieces, and medium spice level gives it a good amount of flavor. The shan khao soi is so creamy and tasty that even tasting the curry broth itself is a sensational experience, and the chicken leg included literally has "fall off the bone" meat. The boat noodle has a mixture of sweetness and savor, while the sweet flavor does not overpower anything at all. Finally, the mohinga clearly has fish cake flavor and texture fully infused, making it authentically delicious. We also ordered the knyaw iced salad, which was a mixture of ice along with crackers and other types of sweet ingredients. I thought it was very similar to a type of Vietnamese dessert called chè ba màu (three color pudding), and fully enjoyed it. The establishment only had one dessert, and I thought that was sufficient. While the street contains many excellent restaurants, I personally believe that this establishment stands out in terms of taste. I must also mention that since my friends and I arrived when barely anyone else was there each time we had gone there, we never experienced any service delays that some have mentioned in their reviews. I probably will give this place a 5 rating anyway even if I experience slowness, although I hope I don't.
