I haven't had vietnamese food a lot, so I'm not the most well versed, but I know I like it! We noticed that Viet's was rated the top Vietnamese restaurant in Westword, so we checked it out. The inside was decent and felt clean. I sat facing the wall, which happened to have a large flat screen tv with the NBA playoffs on, which I wasn't in the mood to watch, but couldn't help glancing at it because it was in my line of view. I had my mind set on one thing, but a friend who just returned from Vietnam reccommended I try Pho, which I've never had and keep hearing great things about. She definitely steared me in the right direction as it was very good! I think everyone in the group enjoyed what they had and now I want to come back and try more and familiarize myself with it all. Lunch prices were good and the portion size was right on. The wait staff was just fine and on top of things. Not too busy, but it was lunch... On a Tuesday. I will be back. Especially next time there is a long wait at Saigon Bowl. I had the sesame chicken. Not as spicy as I would have liked. Friends had kung pow chicken and kung pow tofu, same thing, not very spicy. Popped in for lunch after a foot reflexology appointment upstairs. I ordered the Pho Ga and spring rolls. Both were great! Came very quickly, so if you're in need of a quick lunch, head here. I didn't realize it's almost been a month since I've been back... this is my new favorite Vietnamese place! :) We'll be back again soon. Their staff is so different from any other Vietnamese restaurant we've visited - genuinely friendly, helpful, and attentive. :) The food was delicious too. Their menu is almost 10 pages long, which is pretty great for days you want to try something new, and they serve alcohol! This place is very good, and my favorite vietnamese place in Denver. They have a huge variety of types of food on the menu, from all the standard tried-and-true "safe" options, to some slightly more adventurous things (curry goat, traditional spicy beef soup with blood pudding, frogs legs prepared several ways, snails, crocodile, etc.). It's safe to say that you'll find something for everyone at this place. I've eaten there several times, and find most everything delicious. It is also quite cheap, my mom and I ate there a few days ago and got two entrees and an appetizer and the bill came to $20 or so. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I came with three other people and we ordered way too much food. We came super hungry, and the prices were so reasonable that we wound up getting enough food for at least six people. And then the food was so good that we kept eating after we were full. I practically rolled out Viet's with my bags of leftovers. I can't remember all the dishes we ordered, but here are a few. The bun with pork, chicken and shrimp ($8) was substantial and delicious. Each kind of meat stood up on its own, the spring rolls were excellent, plus the noodles and lettuce were refreshing on a hot day. Also terrific were the duck with black mushrooms, rice wrapped shrimp and veggie rolls, and veggie pho. read more

I was a little nervous to try a new Vietnamese restaurant, but it was one of the few that I know of that had a full bar and one of my guest really wanted a glass of wine after a bad day. There was a strong burning incense smell and I thought I might have to leave. However, we decided to stay and all I can say is top notch food and quality. Server was super helpful and friendly. The restaurant looks to be remodeled and is super cute and cozy. The restaurant was dead at 6:30 on a Wed so we had undivided attention. I can't wait to go back and try something new. read more

Just stopped by this place cuz it was close to a school I had a meeting at around 5:30. Wanted some soup and some kind of appetizer - to go. I felt a little bit bad for being so short on time and having to rush them somewhat.... but they ARE AWESOME!!!! Got the crab soup and vietnamese eggrolls. It came with a giant vietnamese salad that I am now having for lunch the next day. Everything was delicious x2. The people in my meeting all kept asking where it was from and said it smelled delish. Love this place and hope to return someday! My Boulder friend gave us a brief tour of Denver en route to the airport for our flight home. Along the way we enjoyed a fabulous, sumptuous lunch at Viets Restaurant. (It's about 45 minutes from the airport in afternoon traffic.) We ordered the spring rolls, egg rolls, chicken wings, kung pao beef, and "boba drinks." That turned out to be a ridiculous amount of food for three people, and yet the bill before tip was under $40. For where I come from, it was an incredible bargain. And this was NOT bargain-fare Asian. All the ingredients were super fresh, authentic, and nothing like the Asian you get in a mall or airport. Viets provides big flavor with minuscule amounts of sodium or grease. The vibrant tastes come from lovely herbs and spices ("exotic" to some of us) and meats and vegetables cooked to just-right tender or crunchiness. We ordered honeydew melon boba drinks, expecting from the pictures what we call "bubble tea" back East. Turns out boba is more of a dessert beverage, which the waitress seemed to try to signal when she clarified whether we were asking to have the drinks with rather than after the meal. That said, these bobas, deliciously thick, frozen concoctions, were a huge hit with all of us. I kind of prefer the way they do the tapioca pearls back home -- they are more tender -- but I still really loved this drink. Service was fast, friendly, and informative. One of the waiters cheerfully encouraged us to eat our egg rolls by wrapping them in lettuce with beansprouts and sauce...but we were barbarians and mixed everything different ways. The servers actually missed one of the entrees we had ordered. When we realized it and asked, we were crossing our fingers hoping that the dish was not in progress, because the table was already covered with an over abundance of food. We were in luck -- no more entrees coming -- and we still had some tasty leftovers to pack up and enjoy on our flight. We had no trouble finding the place or parking, though I would mention that Denver's tourist promotional blurbs are full of hype in their descriptions of this area. Viets is located in a quad-shaped strip mall in an ugly, sprawl zone off a big road. But isn't that true of some of America's best food places? read more

Amazing food. We ate here on Christmas day, and at first we were just grateful to find a place open, but as soon as our order came, we were grateful for the talent in the kitchen. This is a really great spot in the busy Asian center off Federal & Alameda. The food is top notch and the staff runs it like they own it.

For like 3 years now I've always been going to this place it was something I craved during my pregnancy but lately they got a new menu all their prices went up because they got a new owner and the food isn't the same we ordered the usal spring roll and the were brittal dry instead of moist, the porpotions have gotten smaller but the prices have gone up. The Bun Dac Biet here is insanely delicious. So fresh and flavorful. Just tried the lemongrass tofu lunch special for the first time and it's so good! Nice flavor and a little heat. The pork eggrolls are awesome, and the chicken pho rocks, too. Can't say enough about Viet's! read more

Horrible place with horrible food and horrible service. Took forever to take our order and bring it out. When the food finally came out, it was the wrong order. Charged us to get the correct food. Not a bad place to have dinner with your family or friends. This restaurant is located in the far east center which can be found easily. The parking space is enormous so you don't have to worried abut finding one parking spot. They have all the appetizers to pho and to family courses. The food is served fast and the staff is extremely helpful. The only thing which I don't like is the fish sauce, they have that bitter adter taste in my throat. Great range of budget, but same great presentation and taste :) Highly Recommended: Spring Rolls or Soft Shell Crabs, Combination Noodle Bowl, Crispy Catfish with Ginger Sauce. Decor: It was updated a while back and it is a very nice place to be. Modern Asia. Service: It has always been spot-on: attentive but not bothersome, polite and competent - which is pleasant. Open till Midnight now :) Price: between 8.95 and 12.95 usually... so excellent for what you get in comparison. Ordered seafood pho which on the menu did not mention anything about having pork pieces in it (and I don't eat pork) therefore I tried to get a server to come as I didn't eat anything after I took a spoon full and found out there's pork in there ...the server kept ignoring us and when she finally showed up we told her about it and she gladly took the soup but charged us for it later.. when we asked her why did she charge us she said "it's not our fault".. ) even though on the menu it didn't mention anything about pork whateover. Also the server was very rude when we just arrived, as we came at about 9:20 for a quick bite and they close at 10 she was making sure to let us know about that with the look she gave us. And everyone kept talking behind our backs and didnt even say good bye as we left after we finally got that pho taken off our check. I've been to 50 (if not more) pho restaurants and even worked at one and cannot believe this rude service. The mussels were good though. read more

food was good but don't expect any service. we requested our food to be made not spicy when we order. (we bought our kids). When food arrive the dishes were spicy. Spoke to waiter and he argue it was not spicy. The dish were full of red small peppers and my son was screaming spicy on his first bite. Service was terrible. Waiter never came and check on us not to say we never recieve a dish we order until we were ready to pay for our bill. I wish this restaurant was on Havana! I've honestly never had a bad meal, until today.. However, it wasn't their fault I believe... Today after an intense day at shao I was drained.. My mother said if I go to her motel shell treat me to dinner.. Her definition of treating me is drive and push me in my wheelchair! What we ordered was egg drop soup and bahn xeo for me, and the combination salad... So most restaurants I've had bahn xeo they put a lot of bean sprouts, so I asked for to have very little.. But my mom being as cheap as she says interiupts and says EXTRA BEAN SPROUTS! So that's what they did.. BAD IDEA! Bahn xeo are Vietnamese fried pancakes kinda like crepes with pork belly, shrimp, and bean sprouts. So bean sprouts are high in water and made it extremely mushy and it ddidnt taste crispy one bit.. But the fish sauce to dip it in made it better. With bahn xeo it comes with the stuff you get with pho cilantro, cucumbers, lettuce etc. What my mother does is uses them not knowing it was mine douses it with my fish sauce and tried to make a salad even though the combo salad was tasty.. Foods good but don't go with people that are cheap and complain to tip $4.00!!! read more

My BF and I came here for the first time bc the reviews were really good. My bf ordered a plate of combination rice and I ordered thai hot pot. The rice plate came out within 5 minute but the meat were cold. 40 minute passed and they were still fixing the hot pot. Their reason was that too crowded tonight. As a Vietnamese food lover for over 15 years, I've experienced the rise and fall of many Vietnamese restaurants on Federal. We have frequented Saigon Bowl for years, but after reading the reviews for Viet's, we decided to go outside of our comfort zone and try it. Let me begin by saying that if I could rate this restaurant as 1.5 stars, it would be my rating. The customer service was extremely poor from the time we sat down until the time we left...I had to ask for things multiple times, and at one point a waiter not assigned to our area had to come over and apologize for poor service. His excuse was that it was a busy night, but there were empty tables in the restaurant the whole time we were there...and we still didn't get what we asked for! When we questioned the waitress about the menu, she had no idea about anything and told us different things about the same item three different times, which were all untrue. We ordered the Viet House, because it seemed similar to a common appetizer dish at Saigon Bowl...boy was it a disaster! We also ordered a beef with lemongrass stir fry dish and felt that it was good but pretty scant on beef. When the waitress went to box up our leftovers, she lifted the garnish to reveal a pile of hair!!! In terms of price, some dishes were fairly priced, but most were on the high side including the Viet House. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and I definitely will not be coming back. From now on, I will stick with and recommend Saigon Bowl for great Vietnamese food and Pho 95 for the world's best pho! read more

me and my friend went there last week. the food was pretty good and restaurant was clean but the service was really bad. we ordered pad Thai and hu tieu do bien but they just bring us hu tieu do bien and forgot the other one. we had to wait for the pad Thai 10 mins after the first one with our reminding for some times. And they at that time were taking care of another people who came after us. we went there together but one ate first and one waited for a long time to get the food. the server names Linh. a bad server ever!!! we'll never come back there. it could be a good day if we didnt come there. read more

I have been here a few times over the years, it has always been good but because they are right next to one of my favorite restaurants it is sometimes hard for me to change my ways and come here. I have not explored their menu to much but have had numerous items and I can tell you that the portions are large, the vegetables are fresh and the staff seems more attentive than at other area restaurants. They have unique water where they put a small amount of green tea in it not so that it is full on ice tea but gives it a hint of that flavor which is very refreshing and tasty. This place is worth checking out, I want to come here with a group so we can order a bunch of different things and really get a feel for what their chef can do. I have always just been here for lunch alone. Their noodle bowls, pho and lunch specials are all better than you can get in most cities so I assume their other items are too. My lunch their today was delicious and hit the spot. read more
