Rau for phở
Long D.

Quick service, gigantic portion ( Phở #1 -NOT recommended) fresh vegetables, good Bánh Xèo and fried rolls (recommended), no frill Vietnamese eatery with many authentic choices of satisfying dishes other than Phở. The broth has a sweet taste and not distinctly Phở. Many members of my paảty have to release the stomach after finishing the bowl. Probably the overuse of MSG. Ambiance is not noisy.

We were seated right away and our food came out quickly! It's a small but nice place for good meal. We also order a P12, which isn't pictured. My favorite was the egg roll appetizer with the noodles (A2). They also give a good amount of food for a very decent price.

Satisfied pho consumers

It's what we call in the industry, really good. I do commercial storage systems for a living, so I should know. I haven't had a bad meal here, and the Pho is second to none. The owners and the staff are exceptional. They always greet you with a smile and infallibly remember your favorite order. It's the best little hole in the wall on Federal

Pho Dac Biet (Large) and Bun Rieu. Both $11.95
Christy Q.

Review for August 2021: Huge portions here! Lots of noodles and meats. The herbs are fresh. I love me a fresh plate of green herbs/veggies. Bun Rieu: 1/5 The broth was lacking in pork flavor. The rieu/ crab paste was made of pieces of shrimp and ground pork, lacking in that crab flavor. This is the most important in Bun Rieu. They also didn't offer shrimp paste with it. We were too hungry to ask for it. Pho: 3/5 The broth was okay. We honestly weren't expecting much. The amount of noodles and meats definitely made it worth the $12 since the broth lacked the pho spices flavor. I did like that the bowl came out hot. This place had good service. Coming from California, I wasn't expecting much. The staff did not wear masks. If you're craving Vietnamese food, this may hit the spot, but don't expect it to be amazing.

Seafood noodle soup

I've known this owner since she helped manage the original Saigon Bowl, when pho restaurants weren't a thing. I love my seafood noodle soup bowl. The broth is very flavorful, that you don't really have to season it with anything. My parents love their Bun Dac Biet (Combination Noodle Bowls), they always overload our takeout box. Very competitive to thy e popular places nearby. I just know how hard the owner worked to own her business, and I love supporting local businesses. Check it out!

This area has so many restaurants especially Vietnamese restaurants and their ratings on Yelp are quite good. So, we asked the cashier at an oriental grocery store. The cashier recommended this restaurant. We got there slightly after 5 pm. We were seated promptly and the server was very helpful. We ordered an egg rolls appetizer, a large beef and tendon Pho, a pork chop with rice, and a combination vermicelli dish (called Bun). The egg rolls appetizer was a surprise. It came with a large plate of assorted fresh herbs and veggies. The egg rolls were super crunchy. When wrapped in the lettuce with herbs and the fish sauce, they were so good. Could have made a meal out of that if I am by myself. The beef and tendon Pho was a bit off. The beef was a bit overcooked and the broth was blant. The grill pork with rice was good but the lemongrass flavor was not strong enough. The vermicelli was very good though. Packed with a variety of grilled meats, shrimps, and yes egg roll, too. All were well marinated and seasoned. Definitely worth another visit.

Bug in my food
David N.

The pho was decent. The broth was pretty good and the noodles were pretty good, but the meat was bad and there was a bug in my food :(. I didn't notice the bug until multiple bites into the dish. The big was hiding in the corner of the food. They apologized for the mistake but still charged me for the meal

Banh xeo and a generous side of freshness. Rating: 3.5 stars
MinhTho N.

Came here for our very first meal of the day around 3pm, hence, the "brunchinner" tag. The place was in a rundown strip mall but turned out to be just fine inside (typical Vietnamese eatery spot, I would say). We ordered banh canh and banh xeo (which was how we originally ended up here, by typing "banh xeo" in the search bar on Yelp). They brought out two generous sides of greens first, followed by our orders. Overall, both dishes were tasty. I like the fact that they didnt give us a tiny order of lettuce when we asked for extra, along with a side of attitude like some other places. However, the banh xeo got kinda oily and mushy toward the end, which is why I took 1 star off. Besides that, tasty food, nice staff, good portion and prices. We will come back to try other dishes.

The pho was pretty good, not the best we've had, but other than taking our order we never saw the server again. We won't go back.

I ordered the ginger chicken comfort bowl and that chicken was spicy through the actual ginger and the way it was combined. Never have had a better ginger dish. Nourishing food, fresh, prepared with care--when we come back to visit the grandchildren, we will be sure to bring everyone out to eat here again. It is very loud in there, but with joyous conversation from everyone, saying a lot about enjoyment of the food, for sure; we had a corner table and with hearing aids we still were able to participate in our family's conversation amidst the cacophony. Think it would be difficult to have heard in a more central table. Walls help reflect sound back toward the table.

Ingredients are fresh and dishes pack a powerful flavor bomb...I mean wow! The use of shrimp paste and other traditional ingredients really elevate flavors that many Americans are not used to, but you have to try it to understand. Their claypots are a must order and with a side of rice....you'll be eating for days! The star of the night was the pork and calamari claypot which is cooked in shrimp paste and your favorite Vietnamese spices and herbs. You'll finish bowls of rice with this dish, it packs so much flavor that you'll be wanting more. It's a great mix of salty, sweet and umami from the fermented shrimp paste. The Vietnamese curry was thick and packed with succulent shrimp. The veggies at a very nice brightness to balance out the coconut milk. The last dish we had was a shrimp lemon grass in the clay pot and that was also a hit with everyone! Service is amazing and they definitely know how to recommend dishes to match your taste buds. They went out of the way to help everyone and it shows. If you need a new spot, check Dan Da!

Good option for Vietnamese & pho and a trendy spot…read more The drink menus are a mess. After looking at two I still didn't know how much hot sake was or the sizes offered and if they had other kinds -- absolutely no transparency on price when it's not on a menu anywhere. They have Lucky Buddha bottles all over the place but no idea how much those were, either. Mixers? I see bottles but no prices cause nothin is listed in any drink menus. So weird. The pho is very good and other meals have always been. I think it's on the pricier side here for everything. It gets so expensive to go out when a modest meal/drink set ya back $50. It's just pho! And a basic adult drink like super cheap house sake or tap beer. But anywho, this is our world now. Just going out less & less than I used to! They don't have any deals like happy hour. Multiple people asked when I was there so I hope they offer one someday. The sides for pho are pretty skimpy but there was no hesitation when I asked for more lime & basil. Service was and has always been really good!

I…read morestill wanted noodle soup and figured a half empty restaurant was a quicker resolution, however I'm now fairly certain we would have gotten our food faster even with the 1 hour wait at our original restaurant choice. Service was incredibly slow for how empty the restaurant was. After more than 30 minutes of waiting and no sign of our server, another server finally came to check on us and realized none of our order tickets made it to the kitchen. This could have easily been recognized by the original server had he even showed up to check on us during this time. I wish I could say the food was worth the wait. The pork egg rolls we got had just 1 piece of lettuce and barely pickled veggies to accompany it. I was confused that my house pho with beef short rib came with the meat on the side, which was sadly very cold and chewy. The broth itself was fine, but the chili oil pooled so much and was too greasy to be palatable. Our server did at least remove the apps from our bill as an apology for the service and I did at least find the food edible. For a $20 bowl of pho though I am still left feeling offended and full of regret that I didn't just wait it out for Noodles by Nina. We all left agreeing that the only enjoyable part of our meal was the 2010s hits playlist.
