Of course I'm going to give it 5 Stars ... my aunt owns the place. Come to Vikki Rae's! If you've ever watched "The Barber Shop or Beauty Shop", its just like it. Its like where everyone knows your name. They really do treat you like family. I worked for my aunt for a summer and all her clients have grown to become her friends. They also do nails and threading here. Mon-Wed, there's a special for threading which is $5. And the girl doesn't half ass her work. She's pretty good. My aunt specializes in events, especially weddings. My aunt has her own make-up artist who is posted next door at "V Studio" (which my aunt also owns). And in the back they do facials. The only con is parking. There's a handicap spot in the front plus four other spots. Or you can park right on the street (Pioneer) or park behind the building. = = = = = = UPDATED : June 18, 2008 !! = = = = = = So I visited Vikki Rae's today since I was in the area and I wanted to get my eyebrows threaded. The girl who does threading wasn't there, so my aunt gave me a rain check for FREE THREADING!! How great is that?! I guess when the threader isn't there, they give out rain checks. So basically you could be saving anywhere from $5-$8. Just thought you'd like to know! ALSO! Sometimes I would call ahead of time just to see if the Threader and/or the Nail Artist is in. And if you'd like to get your hair did, you should make an appointment because she gets booked fast and I wouldn't try walking in. Trust! I've done it (and I'm her niece) and I've waited for awhile. I came here with my boyfriend's mom to get our eyebrows done. I for the last 5 years have gone to Ziba but I realized that lately they've become more of a in and out place not taking much time to care for the individual. Arti is entirely different. She cares and has such delicate threading that I didn't feel a thing. She also has a great eye for catching all the little hairs. Also to my embarrassment she noticed that one line of the right eyebrow was slightly higher than the left. I might have been embarrassed but I'm glad she noticed. Honestly I feel great. This hair studio is in the cut. I began coming here when I followed Arti for my eyebrows. Arti is amazing and super gentle. Call and make an appointment. You can always walk in but you might be waiting a while. Vikki (the owner) is super sweet. She's never cut my hair or anything but just through conversation she's caring and personable. Her studio is super clean. She always plays oldies in her studio and in love it. It brings be back to the days where music was good and makes my wait time more enjoyable. Five (freaking cheap) bucks for a whole threading job on your eyebrows! That's a steal yo'! And yes, that's my ghetto ass speaking! Alina did a great job and she asked me before hand too if i want a natural job. That's consideration for a guy having his first threading job done on his precious eyebrows! I have no previous experience to compare to but overall I would definitely come back for it again. We came in with a whole group of people and I have say, we all came out satisfied! The parking is kind of limited but it is a really small "plaza" and there's not much going on there but if you are having a hard time finding parking, you can always go for the street parking. Also, you can have your hair cut and the rest done at the place too. The people there are fun, welcoming and nice. P.S. You get your sixth one for free after the fifth time! read more

She has been available to accommodate me into her schedule the few times that I've needed her services in a rush while in SoCal. She's very good at what she does and she's very personable. Her technique is truly unlike that of other women who provide threading services. I'd highly recommend her to anyone interested in changing up their threading routine or trying it out. read more

Just like my cousin, Kristine (first reviewer), I will give Vikki Rae's 5 stars, not because Vikki is my aunt, but because she gave me an awesome haircut. I live in the East Coast but was in California on vacation. I originally was going to book an appointment with Regis at Cerritos Mall upon my best friend's recommendation but when I Yelped it, I found mediocre ratings and didn't want to take my chances (see my review on TC Hair Salon). Then I remembered that Auntie Vikki had a hair salon and called to make an appointment. I told her what I wanted (thinned w/ layers using a thinning razor), and she cut it the way I wanted. Thanks, Auntie Vikki! If airfare was $100 roundtrip, I'd be in Cerritos every few months to have her cut my hair - maybe this is a sign for me to move back here. :) read more

This review is for Arti. Boyfriend was getting his haircut by his usual barber who relocated here. Watched clients come in for eyebrow threading that seemed satisfied. She took me in without an appt after a client. Didnt pressure me to thread anything I didn't want threaded besides my eyebrows. She's very light handed! She's gentle and has a knack for the arch and doesn't miss a single hair even if she has to tweeze them. She also offers to fill your eyebrows with some shadow so you don't go out naked. I went in to see Rick in the hopes of fixing my very unkempt hair. My friend has been going to him for a long time and her hair is always looks beautiful. So I thought I give him a chance. Best decision I've ever made! It was before my graduation and I'm sure like most people, a bit of anxiety sets in but omg he is so funny and personable. My hair came out wonderful!!! The color was exactly what I wanted and idk what he did when he cut my hair but he made my hair curly again. I've gone to many different people for a cut but never has my hair reacted like this. I haven't had my curls since high school which is when I would straighten it every day until I was 19. Literally thought I lost it forever after only seeing my hair with waves for 10 years!!! The only reason I come here is because of Aarti (Arti). She is amazing at waxing and really makes you feel comfortable. I have been coming to her for a little over two years and see her almost every month. She does more than just wax, she threads and does facials, which I have also tried and loved the result. She used to be at Brenda's but I guess it closed so Aarti works here now. So excited because it is closer to where I live. I ditto the parking situation, but you can park in any of the lots surrounding it. I've never had a problem before - make an appt. though!
