This is the greatest restaurant in the area by far. Unfortunately, their prices increase significantly every month. $21 for soup? $24 for calamari? I am a loyal customer but can no longer validate the monthly price increases. It's a matter of principle. I will no longer have dinners. Lunches are still an option but not sure how long. Thankfully, other options are opening in Hamilton. You can always pull from your kids college fund or have your pay direct deposited to Toscano's for future use. read more

Not knowing the area very well and wanting to forego the fast food options we chanced upon this place. It appears that on most days , reservations are needed to get in here. That's a great sign because you know it'll be good. We were lucky as walk ins to get in. My best guess is because it was around 4:30 pm and two days after Christmas. George ( waiter) was friendly and thorough. My head was already spinning with the menu then George rattles off the specials. We decided on the lobster sliders and the 54 day aged Tomahawk for two. The sliders were amazing and the Tomahawk Steak was accompanied with a root beer , bourbon, bacon compound butter. The steak was so soft and the melted butter yumminess just took our culinary palates to a different level. The hubster chose the Kentucky butter cake (George didn't even hesitate when recommending this as his personal favorite) I usually have my own favorites, but I sometimes like to try things that I've never seen on any menu before. Dinner at Toscano was delish! Toscano is a quaint resturant and was decorated so cute for the holiday season! The staff were so lovely! Our waiter was so helpful and accommodating when navigating through the menu. The mood in the restaurant is definitely a more elevated feel with dim lighting and white tablecloths. This resturant is perfect for a holiday dinner with family, date night or even an event to take clients for work! I came with my fiancé and parents and we all really enjoyed! This Italian steakhouse had such delicious and unique appetizers like their Italian Eggrolls and Bacon Dusted Calamari. The eggrolls were stuffed with broccoli rabe, sausage, and provolone over a white bean bruschetta. I was OBSESSED with these eggrolls. I honestly could've had a few! The appetizer came with 4 so everyone was able to have one. The calamari was also tasty with a sweet and sour sauce pesto aioli over top! I liked the sauce but it was a bit smokey. Overall really enjoyed the appetizers! The food here is very good. My husband actually quietly proposed to me here during dinner one night. The roasted bone marrow with crostini was delicious. I am not sure if it's always on the menu, but if you can catch it when it's on special, it is phenomenal. I am knocking a star off because that night they served my steak with lobster sauce without any indication on the menu. I am allergic to lobster, thankfully not severely. The second time I've been there and the bartender is a real wise ass. He listens to your conversations and then comments on them to everybody in the restaurant at the bar. FANTASTIC Dinner and Experience. This place has been on our bucket list for a while now, friends had recommended it, we had eaten at other places around it; we finally had the perfect night to get away from the kids on our 8th Anniversary. I'm so glad we did. Cozy, dim lit, and intimate, it has the upscale feel, with the small town vibe. Awesome bar area backed up by two-tier seating on the way to the kitchen. In the kitchen, the chef and staff are cooking up some amazing dishes and specials. It was very hard to decide because all the options sounded great! (Who am I kidding I knew I was getting a steak, it's a STEAKhouse!) For apps we went with the specials: Squash Blossoms with I believe a romesco (red pepper) sauce, and they were delicious! We also did the Tuna app special :crispy rice cake, tuna (rare), Avocado, Wasabi, tobiko...Amazing...my wife ate 1.5 and she doesn't like tuna, it was that good. Dinner was my dry aged ribeye cooked rare+ (I left it to the chef to do their magic) it was like butter, barely had to chew it, so flavorful. They bring it out on a searing plate with garlic, butter, and rosemary, baste it, and let it rest table side before serving it. I was salivating in anticipation. Unfortunately my picture came out blurry but there are others in yelp for reference. My wife (not a steak person) got the crab pappardelle with asparagus and spinach in I believe a white wine sauce. It was really good, she loved it, but I came for steak. She even tried my steak and said "wow, that's really good." Dessert we opted for flourless chocolate cake with berries and peanut butter ice cream. Probably our toughest decision of the night, lol. I came here for the first and last time tonight. Even a place that consistently does well still needs to continue good customer service and Toscano fully failed to meet that tonight. The food was good and I enjoyed my center cut filet, however the after experience was rather unpleasant. I ordered some meals to go for family members at home, one meal specifically being the 28 day boneless strip which I both spoke out and pointed on the menu. However, once arriving home my brother, who frequents this restaurant quite often, immediately said that they sent home the wrong steak. Instead, they sent home the 28 day Kansas City bone in sirloin, a totally different steak. He was very upset because that isn't what he ordered. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the manager who instantly made the situation worse. He was unkind, rude and not once did he apologize. He first said "we don't have a boneless 28 day strip" to which I said it's right here on your menu. He then stated that "the only difference between those two steaks is the bone" which is again incorrect as one is a sirloin and one is a strip steak. How a manager of a restaurant who specializes in steaks that are aged in-house doesn't know the difference between those two steaks nor knows the menu of the restaurant is beyond me. Again, no apology was given at any moment. He instead said to me, "the one steak you got is more money anyway." to which I once again had to correct him in that they are both $62. He then stated, "so they're both the same price then what is the problem" and I was shocked that I actually had to tell him that the price doesn't matter it's that he got a steak he didn't order. If he wanted the other steak he would've ordered it. He verbatim said to me, "well I don't know what you want me to do." And I said well I'm not sure but the person I specially ordered this for isn't happy because he looked forward to this steak all night. He finally said he would make the right one and my brother can come give the other one back and pick the new one up. Either that or if I came in again I would get a free dessert, but it was clear as day he was brushing me off to get me off the phone since he knew full well I'd never come back. Again, the issue here wasn't just the incorrect steak given but the way I was treated by the manager (I believe he said his name was John if I'm not mistaken.) My brother picked the steak up, gave the other one back which they took and I assume threw in the garbage to be wasted, and not one apology was said to my brother. The manager didn't even come over to him. No one even attempted to make us feel better for the trouble we went through and the 40+ minute round trip drive to come back for the correct steak. What a disgrace. My brother has purchased over 30 steaks from this restaurant over the past several years and it was his special go to spot for a good steak. However, they lost him as a customer and my entire family. I'll continue going to The Capital Grill and Caffe Aldo Lamberti for good food and steaks. Remember, a successful business will never stop treating customers with kindness just because they think they have enough business to lose a few and still succeed. Keith the server was amazing! I just have one negative comment - the floor is extremely slippery. It was raining today so not sure if that's the reason. I had the pumpkin bisque and it was delicious. Tasted like pumpkin pie. The spices were on point. It was very filling. Almost too filling. I had the shrimp risotto special. The risotto had lump crab meat and fresh sweet corn and pancetta. It came with 4 decent sized grilled shrimp. It was a nice sized portion for lunch. Could barely finish it after the soup. My husband had the pescatore with fra diavolo sauce. Tiny clams with a burnt piece of bacon. The Caesar salad was excellent. My wife liked her cacio Pepe with truffles. My veal chop parm was just ok. My issue was the drinks. As soon as I sat down, she wanted my drink order and I ordered the house made sangria she talked about before I even looked at the menu. I quickly realized I didn't want it. It's a small place. I flagged her down and she told me it was too late to change it. I let it sit on the table full the entire dinner. She did not comment, ask or offer to swap it and it remained on the bill. Parking is impossible. There is valet across the street but nothing on the website and the signage is lacking. This restaurant was recommended to us to celebrate our anniversary: All seemed well orders went well and drinks came in a timely manner and so did the apps. I found it odd that no bread was offered but looked around and didn't see anyone else with bread so I just thought it was not a thing. I ordered a 14oz steak medium. My wife ordered salmon. Both plates came out together. I let my steak sit a few mins then cut it in half. It was raw in a big portion of the middle like it might have been frozen when thrown on the grill. It was a good wait for the waitress to come back to tell her so I insisted my wife eat her food so it didn't get cold. When I informed the waitress she sent the steak back. By the time the food came back out my wife was done her food. Imagine being at a "SteakHouse" and they can't cook a steak to intended temperature- So to my surprise they recooked my steak. Now when I opened it the whole thing was charred and now cooked well. I said I was no longer interested and asked for the check. Just that simple. The waitress insisted the manager come over. That's where it went south fast. He was quite defensive and Right in our faces telling us he has been sending steaks to get recooked for 18 years. In the convo he started pointing in my wife's face and getting close to her. I did tell him to get out of her face at that point. Then we see other tables getting bread and ask why we didn't get bread. He seemed surprised. Then he said while walking away he would take the steak off the bill. We both replied "we didn't even eat any of the steak" He said "Really" I assume he thought I had eaten the steak and wanted it free. That's the only reason I think a person would act that way. But no matter what he should not of acted that way and should never reheat a steak. Any steak person should know it ruins the steak. But what do I know I am not a steak house. Regardless it came out well done after it came out rare. So I again asked for the check and then the waitress said no there is not a bill. I assume because he knew he was wrong. I said no I want to pay for what we had. She still said no and gave us 2 desserts. As we walked out the manager looked at us and didn't say a word. We went on a Monday night to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant is on the main Bordentown restaurant strip. I've heard that this is one of the better steaks in the area. For a starter, we shared the pear vinegarette salad which was enough to share. It was very tasty where you could taste the sour vinegar, sweet pear, and salt. Great balance. For the main, we ordered a porterhouse steak medium, with garlic mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The steak was cooked to medium rare which was fine. The char on the steak was perfect! My only suggestion would be slightly more salt. Overall, steak was 8/10. But it was cooked like Peter Luger, broiled and served in butter. The sides were excellent and I would say 9.5/10. We got olive oil cake and tiramisu for dessert. Both were just ok, probably a 6.5/10. I would definitely go back. Wait staff were attentive and great. read more

We always have such a big, loud group but our waitress everytime is always so patient and and friendly to all of us and always recommends the best wine and food choices. My friends absolutely love the steak since thats what always keeps them coming back but recently we have tried other options on the menu and wow did none of it disappoint! The glazed root beer pork chop was delicious- from the glaze, to being cooked perfectly and being paired with the whipped sweet potato underneath. Yum! Upon walking in, this place was buzzing. You could tell guests were enjoying themselves and I appreciated that tables were not on top of each other, despite the small space. The wait staff was professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. The specials all sounded impressive and we chose the tuna tartare appetizer, which did not disappoint. Generous portion and a multiple of flavor profiles that all worked well together. From the regular menu, the Caesar salad with anchovies - the dressing was amazing and ingredients all tasted fresh - plan to share this one! It was a Saturday night so the place was packed and extremely noisy. We were a party of 4 and we were seated immediately upon arrival. Our waiter had no expression and looked bored. No friendly affect or conversation at all. I ordered a bourbon neat and he brought it with an ice cube. He had to go back to bar. We then proceeded to order appetizers and one of them was a full size gnocchi plate that we were going to share. Of course he forgot that appetizer and was nowhere to be found after the other apps came out. Food was good but not great. So ok there. Our waiter did bring out two extra desserts (free of charge)because of gnocchi mistake but we aren't really dessert people so it didn't help. We had chicken parm and pork chops. Both were excellent. The bread and butter were very good. We all had the delicious flourless cake with vanilla crumble ice cream for dessert. Debbie our server was wonderful. She told us about the history of the restaurant. There are tables on the upper level (a few steps up). It is romantic in a sense. There is no parking on the premises.
