But this time I changed it up and switched to the Merluzzo Oreganata (cod with crab meat in a creamy lemon sauce)...omg it was a great switch. I substituted brussels sprouts for the creamy spinach. It was all amazing. My Daughter picked the Christina's Pescatore which is seafood over linguini in the white wine sauce. It was a reliable choice and not spicy like the other choice of red sauce. I appreciate the dinner salad and basket of bread. So many places don't do this anymore. Monday night and almost every table full...impressive. Tonight Jimbo took great care to ensure we had a flawless dining experience which we did. We opt'ed for mainly chef specials this evening opening up with a delicious coconut shrimp, butterfly, grilled dusted, and fabulous seasonings, and topped off with a Thai chili sauce for dipping. Nice size or white tenders can be an incredible flavor profile. Next, I had the stuffed shrimp with crab meat and black ink linguine and first off the plating presentation was outstanding and then the flavor profile that followed was incredible and I'm not a pasta person, but this was certainly worth breaking my own self imposed rules about pasta. Based solely on Yelp reviews, ( and also bc it was a Monday- and it was open!), we drove an hour to Iccara to meet nephew who was awaiting deployment at Maguire AFB. We had an excellent meal with some of the best service that I've received in years! Delicious rolls and focaccia were served as we looked over the menu and debated numerous specials. We split a stuffed clam appetizer and appreciated that our server Kyle let us stagger the appetizer and entree order. He checked in frequently but wasn't rushing us. We had 3 different entrees that came out hot; each was delicious and plentiful. I enjoyed the shells in a white wine ragu, wife said risotto with shrimp and scallops ( even placed scallops on side bc she doesn't like them... but we did!) was great, and nephew had another pasta that he devoured. Overall, an excellent visit bc of great food, nice ambiance, and attentive service by Kyle who allowed us to enjoy an evening of a relaxed dinner like it would happen in Italy. read more

Birthday lunch for the wife at Villaggio Iccara in Yardville this afternoon. Decor was pleasant & immaculate, a very nice setting for a meal. As for the food, EVERYTHING was superb -- from the appetizer & Sangria pitcher, to the entries, and then the desserts. Perfect size portions also, we left satisfied w/o being overstuffed. And the bill (before tax and the tip) was only $127 -- that's for three people -- meals, drinks, appetizer, and desserts. Service was stellar also, Dario was personable, friendly, and attentive. Couldn't have asked for a better experience this afternoon at Villaggio Iccara, this place is Top Notch. We are looking forward to many return visits here, I'd like to try the pizza, and the outdoor patio area looks inviting when the weather is more conducive to sitting outside. I cannot get enough of Villagio Iccara. I initially tried it for an after work dinner with a friend. It was a good halfway point for us. Let me tell you, we were both blown away at how beautiful the place is, how friendly the staff are and how amazing the food is. The ambiance is incredible. It is bright and beautifully decorated and makes you feel like you're on vacation in the Mediterranean. We dined indoors but they have a beautiful outdoor patio as well. We shared an eggplant appetizer - Parmigiana Quattro Formaggi - eggplant layered with 4 cheeses. So delicious. We also shared a huge salad - the Sundance Salad - Sliced panko and sundried tomato crusted chicken, artichokes, burrata, cherry tomatoes, oranges, mixed greens, citrus dressing. Such a delicious combination of flavors! On another visit we had calamarata organica - Calamarata pasta in nonna's sunday tomato sauce with creamy burrata and Sicilian fried eggplant. Fresh homemade bread is served before the meal. So yummy! Again, a wonderful combination of fresh ingredients and flavors. We also shared a pitcher of white sangria which was delicious, light and refreshing! They are a scratch kitchen and very accommodating towards requests and modifications. Enjoyed a good meal here before we headed to Philly for a show (coming from eastern NJ). It is a BYOB. The pizza is amazing- we had the Tuscan? Style. I had a great piece of branzino here also. The service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. Desserts were just okay- I had a chocolate mousse cake that tasted a bit old. The margherita pizza on their website looks quite different from what we recieved, but it was still very good. Their pizza is made in wood fired ovens. Sauce is good, good balance of sweet without being overly sweet. The cheesesteak was very good. I have been seeing a lot of posts online of their cheesesteak. Great amount of meat and cheese without feeling too heavy. Crusty yet soft seeded roll. Would definitely get it again. Haven't been here for a sit down dinner in a long time. Returning to NJ for some family visits and looking for dinner recommendations and this establishment was at the top of the list. Called for reservations (4) and met another couple at 7 for outdoor seating. Tyler took very good care of us and shared the daily specials with our group. He took our appetizer order and gave us time to review the menu. After getting our main entrees it was pretty quick delivery of the appetizer and we enjoyed it with some bread. Pictures of the entrees were captured after delivery. The meal was phenomenal with some leftover containers taken home. A real cool feature of the outdoor seating was a retractable roof which they opened as the sun set. Great weather here tonight. I was craving for pizza when I went to a dinner party at Iccara. Despite my heart being set on the pie, my mind wandered astray as I saw the other options on the menu. I ended up sharing a Cristina Pescatore and a Branzino special with my table mate along with several other appetizers. The basket of bread might have played a role in swaying my selection since the tomato pie slices and bread rolls were plenty satisfying for my craving. As it turns out, the Cristina Pescatore dish was a great choice since the portion was pretty big and the pasta was delicious. The Bronzino special also tasted great with the subtle sweetness of the fish. Ambience here is cozy and intimate, which makes it great for taking either a date or a small group of friends or family for a nice dining experience. I like that the lighting is warm and low but not too dimmed that you can't see the menu. Parking here could be a bit dicey at night since there aren't a lot of parking spots next to the restaurant, and residential area nearby doesn't have good lighting. read more

The take out side is now a bunch of super awkward teenagers who just sit on their phones instead of greeting you/check on your food. Just comes off super rude and the same kids are so off about the wait times, we were told 45 minutes on a Tuesday for two entrees and it took 90 minutes. And if you're gonna charge $60 for two chicken pasta meals, the least ya can do is give some plastic utensils. read more

The front desk recommended this place and I couldn't have been happier. Not on the main road, it appeared that Iccara was a frequent stop for people who lived nearby and just knew what good italian food is. When you walk past the take-out pizza and other food options, you get into a very beautiful dinning room. The menu had everything you could ever want. I opted for the linguini and clam sauce and wasn't disappointed. My server was fantastic, attentive and answered every question I had. This place is another testiment to travelers to venture out past the parking lot of a stop-over hotel and get a taste of local flavor. With Iccara, you won't be disappointed. read more

We took my son here for his 24 th birthday. Since he is a 24 year old autistic man he needed a quiet ambience and the veranda outside was perfect. My sister and elderly mom from out of town loved their crispy salmon and gnocchi dish. My husband got crab cakes which were seasoned beautifully. My son got a margarita pizza, perfect crisp and sauce not too spicy. If it rained we wouldn't get wet because of the outdoor roof covered the tables while still being outside. Such a charming restaurant! We would have driven right past it had we not found it on Yelp prior to driving through the area--so glad we ate here! We ordered the mussels in white wine, a special of the day, as an appetizer and loved every bite. The mussels were juicy, and the peppers and tomatoes soaked up all the flavor in the sauce. We enjoyed the dish so much that we ended up asking for extra bread just to dip in the garlicky sauce. I ordered a salamino, which was made very quickly. I was thrilled to receive a fairly large pizza topped with spicy pepperoni, fresh arugula, and ricotta. The crust was thin and crispy, and the slices weren't too greasy. I would have loved some more ricotta on each slice, but it was still delicious! We also ordered a bolognese, chicken marsala, and pollo vincenzo. The marsala and pollo vincenzo were a bit too salty, but the flavors were still excellent, and the chicken in both dishes was tender and juicy. The bolognese, however, left a lot to be desired. It was rather disappointing--it didn't have nearly as much depth to its flavor profile as the other dishes, but the other entrees and the fast and friendly service made up for this! We have noted the name of this restaurant down and plan to bring more of our foodie friends here. Lovely place; we will be back! read more

Excellent meal at this top notch Italian spot. This place is hoppin! Inside dining is divided into 2 rooms. The outside patio area has 2 sections. Every seat was full! Plus a steady flow of take-out customers. We were seated promptly, reservation honored to the minute. A bread basket is served with water for the table, to nosh while reviewing the menu. Sliced ciabatta toasted and slathered with tomato sauce plus a few rolls. It was a challenge not to fill up on bread alone! It's a BYOB place but there is a short list of wines that are available by the bottle. Service is friendly and efficient. There was a little longer than ideal wait for the entrees (about 20 minutes) but understandable given the number of diners. Food arrived piping hot and each of several special requests executed flawlessly. Fried burrata was the appetizer. A baseball-sized sphere of creamy, fresh burrata, lightly breaded and fried golden brown is served atop a pool of sweet tomato sauce and surrounded by crispy garlic-buttered slices of bread. Yum! I asked and was accommodated an off-the-menu request. Linguine in garlic and oil is one of my favorites. And this execution did not disappoint! Perfectly al dente linguine. Sautéed in light olive oil with fresh sliced garlic, topped with shrimp. The tails-off shrimp were perfect... nice crunch with each bite, not overcooked. Pro tip - save some bread to dip in the exquisite garlic and oil! Spinach ravioli are fantastic. 5 ravioli stuffed with spinach and ricotta are served over cream alfredo sauce and topped with a ragu of slivered prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, and chunks of chicken. The combo of earthy spinach, creamy sauce amd salty prosciutto and sun dried tomato makes each bite a taste sensation. Really good. We were even treated by a table side visit from the owner. I came here again for a Christmas celebration with a group of 9 which I did a year ago. This year I think was better than last year in terms of service. Kyle was excellent! He was super friendly and kind, had a nice demeaned, and repeated the verbal menu as often as I needed it spoken. He checked back on us a lot and made sure our water pitchers were full. The temperature was on and off. The night was rainy but in the fifties, but they did have the AC on for some portion then the heat on for some. That might be the only way to maintain the temperature with an oddly warm temperature in December but the times the AC was on I was chilly wort a sweater on. I ordered the crab linguini dish on the verbal menu and it was delicious. First bite I thought was a hint of fishy but it went away as I ate and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The sauce is described as creamy but not to worry as it's not super creamy, maybe a little bit thicker than regular tomato sauce but nothing too crazy that would upset a stomach. Villaggio Iccara is a great place to grab a pizza, but dining in for their gourmet dinners is even better. The servers are friendly and we were able to be seated in no time. I recommend sitting outside under their tent that is beautifully decorated with greenery. If you have no dietary restrictions, the complementary Sicilian bread basket is some of the best bread you can find. I made sure to save a piece for dipping in my gnocchi that came topped with a fried burratta. The dinner menu does rotate often to keep it fresh and keep customers excited, which is greatly appreciated. read more
