    Burnt

I ordered a pie and asked for it cooked through but please not well done. It was. He t and cold after 1.25 hours waiting and when I Called& the girl told me it wasn't cold and the pie wasn't well done when it left the restaurant. Well it was. 15 years and I wouldn't normally do this as I'm in the food service business but this happens too often and they dont care.

a pizza with pasta and cheese

The food was great and the service was amazing. The prices were very good, best in the area.

    Greasy pizza.

Absolutely terrible pizza and even worse customer service. Undercooked, and so greasy it was dripping through the bottom of the box. We will never go back there and neither should anyone reading this.

a pizza box on the ground

Horrible service and food quality over the last my month. The final straw? See the pictures where they stomped on the food and left it out in the rain. "Rang the bell" once, no call, no knock, manager didn't even get on the phone to apologize. We were not only frequent customers, but also hefty tippers. I shouldnt have to ask for a refund. I shouldnt have to ask for you to remake the order. I shouldnt have to demand you pick up the garbage you dropped on my front steps. I should be able to feed my kids and be treated like the valued customers we were. DONE!

Poorly made pizza with crust that is 3-4 inches of the pizza. Literally, no toppings, cheese or sauce for at least 3-4 inches.

I will never order there again. Ordered the buffalo chicken pizza in March. When it arrived, I was surprised to see that the crust was 3-4 inches of the pizza. Literally, no toppings, cheese or sauce for at least 3-4 inches. Figuring they must have hired a new employee who had no clue what they were doing making a pizza, I called and talked to the manager. To my surprise, he told me that he made the pizza, "that's how they make pizzas" and that he was "proud of his pizza". After arguing a little about the proper way to make a pizza, he offered me a refund on the pizza and I accepted. However, I just received my statement and he did not refund the poorly made pizza as he said he would. If you want customers to return, I suggest you get a new Manager and leave pizza making to the professionals.

To start, we were brought a generous amount of warm, toasty bread that was like the love child of pizza dough and focaccia. There is a lot of variety on the menu, but I opted for seafood - fried calamari appetizer is a nice portion to share, with mild, fresh tasting marinara. And the Seafood Combo is a good mix of jumbo shrimp, mussels, calamari, and a few clams. It is not typically spicy, but I requested fra diavolo style and they gladly obliged. To be honest, the linguine was soft and overcooked for my liking, but the flavor was great, price was reasonable, and portion was big enough to have some leftovers the next day. The sauce combined with the seafood juices may have been even better the next day! Gnocchi w/ pesto was delicious, though a bit too much of the same thing - would be great shared for a family style meal. Most entrees are also served with soup or salad. Didn't try the soup, but salads were a nice option. And they brought us an unexpected order of zeppole to share, which was so kind and nice way to end the meal. With a little restaurant like this in your neighborhood, you may question why you would ever step foot in an Olive Garden, Bertucci's, or similar chain restaurant ever again. Note, there are a few quirks. Water offered in paper disposable cups, and don't expect an itemized receipt. While they do accept credit cards, they offer discounts for cash payment.

Still a nice cozy interior with gorgeous views (big win if you're there when the water ski team is practicing - great entertainment!). Service was great, polite and timely! The star of the menu is the pizza - the "thinny thin" had a great Barstool Pizza rating and I see why! SUPER thin and crispy pizza with great cheese all the way to the edge. Also had the risotto and penne vodka and while good, the pizza is for sure what you should go for. Will definitely return!

They say if something is available at 7:30 outside you can have the seat. We arrived 30 minutes early to hopefully sit outside. Reality: they sat us inside at a small table next to the wait staff area entrance. I had my back to the lake so I didn't see anything but waiters and waitresses bringing dirty dishes into the kitchen area. We waited 15 minutes before our waiter came to our table. We ordered Cesar salad for 2 and a large thinny thin (half plain, half pepperoni). We never received bread and butter while all other tables did. I tried to ask our waiter or any but they wouldn't make eye contact (all busy). Our waiter nowhere to be seen. We received the pizza. We did not receive the salad. When our waiter finally showed up again, we told him to cancel the Cesar salad. Which they did. He was apologetic but the dinner was ruined. Crappy experience. Angeloni's service in Caldwell was much better. Pizza was great though. 0 stars for service, ambiance, salad and bread&butter. 5 stars for the pizza.

We were seated quickly and Anthony, our server, stopped by right away with menus, a bottle of water and glasses, and a tray of bread, olive oil, olives, and cheese. We hoovered up everything that he'd brought to us- the bread was fantastic. I mean- wow.... seriously good bread! We both ordered a pasta dish, I got linguine with bolognese sauce, my wife ordered a seafood penne dish. She had originally opted for the lobster mac and cheese- but they were sold out... :-( Being from Queens and transplanted to NJ as a kid, I'm very pasta savvy. The linguine was perfectly cooked- just a little bite. The Bolognese sauce was also on-point. So many NJ pizzerias think that mashing up a meatball and adding it to a ladle of sauce is ok.... This was the real deal. Both plates had huge portions, as well. We were both slightly disappointed- no bread, no spoon, no cheese. Anthony made his way back to the table and rectified those issues. More of that fabulous bread, ha ha! Look- I can absolutely say that i'll be back. Food was good... Place was nice...

If you're in the Sparta area, do not hesitate to enjoy a meal at Pizza One. If that's too out of the way, there are other locations in Wayne, NJ, and in Scarsdale, NY.
