Still a nice cozy interior with gorgeous views (big win if you're there when the water ski team is practicing - great entertainment!). Service was great, polite and timely! The star of the menu is the pizza - the "thinny thin" had a great Barstool Pizza rating and I see why! SUPER thin and crispy pizza with great cheese all the way to the edge. My vision of tonight's (Saturday) dinner with my wife was: outside table to watch the sunset. Had reservations for inside at 7:30pm because they don't take reservations for outside (??). They say if something is available at 7:30 outside you can have the seat. We arrived 30 minutes early to hopefully sit outside. Reality: they sat us inside at a small table next to the wait staff area entrance. I had my back to the lake so I didn't see anything but waiters and waitresses bringing dirty dishes into the kitchen area. We waited 15 minutes before our waiter came to our table. We ordered Cesar salad for 2 and a large thinny thin (half plain, half pepperoni). We never received bread and butter while all other tables did. I tried to ask our waiter or any but they wouldn't make eye contact (all busy). Our waiter nowhere to be seen. We received the pizza. We did not receive the salad. When our waiter finally showed up again, we told him to cancel the Cesar salad. Which they did. He was apologetic but the dinner was ruined. Crappy experience. Disappointing to see because I was hoping the place would be as good or better than the video. Last Wednesday after my wife Sabina's final students left her arts school, I took her to try the restaurant anyways. Reached there late, the final half hour before closing and they accepted us. Honestly, we were pleasantly surprised. Sat at a table outdoors on the boardwalk overlooking Lake Mohawk on a beautiful evening. Restaurant was still busy as all tables were full. Sabina captured and shared videos of the lake views like we were at a destination in Italy 1. The waitress was not bubbly just kind, helpful, and honest about the food ingredients since we are vegetarian. Checked with chef on one item in particular to clarify/confirm whether it was made with meat before giving us a wrong answer. She was pleasant 2. First time here and first time taking a chance on an eggplant pie, the "Gina Marie." It was great in our opinions, worth the trip, wait, and money. Could not find anything off with it really. Enjoyable 3. They have an affogato which was not the best in the game but done right the traditional Italian way I think. I once went to an Italian restaurant in Florham Park where, wildly, no one in the staff knew what an affogato was and said "We are not Starbucks" like I was an idiot. Couldn't stop laughing inside at those morons. Great affogato I have tried is at Eataly store which has diff flavors like pistachio gelato and pistachio crumbs 3. Leftover slices in the air fryer the next day tasted similar to the day we ordered it. Definitely a plus as pizza from some restaurants taste terrible next day. Prices are elevated which is fine as long as the experience, depth of flavors (as an Indian), and quantity of food reflect. Did not try other pies so cannot share review/judge of them. The Caesar salad was shared by 2 of us along with the pizza. This is not a traditional pie but rather very thin with a crispy cheesy crust. Perfect place to sit down for lunch or dinner on a warm Spring/Summer day. I specifically went to try the 'thinny thin' pizza. Situated on the 'boardwalk', we ate outside with a perfect view of the lake. The staff was very welcoming & friendly. We ordered 2 thinny thins (one pepperoni & one meat lovers) & wings. The wings came out first; they were golden & crispy and had good flavor to them. The pizza truly lived up to its name. Oddly, both pies arrived at our table room temperature. I have been to some of the best: Totonno's Pizzeria Napolitano, Di Fara Pizza, L&B Spumoni Gardens, Juliana's Pizza, Patsy's Pizzeria, L'Industrie Pizzeria, Taglio, and Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana -- so expectations are high. We stopped in for an early dinner, and the thin crust pizza did not disappoint: crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor. The hot vinegar chicken was also excellent. Nick and Mike, the owners, couldn't have been friendlier. They took the time to come over and chat, which really elevated the experience. You truly couldn't ask for better hospitality. Veal parm was double the size of chicken parm my guest had. Servers kept bumping into us as table was placed right where staff enter/exit kitchen. Servers were inexperienced for prices. $30+ entrees and I was chasing down server for cheese/pepper and refills. I reached out to restaurant via their instagram page to provide constructive feedback and the reply was thanks! The way a business handles a guest with an "off" experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry is EVERYTHING. Sorry, but I wont be recommending them to friends, family or clients now. After seeing so many videos about Angeloni's Thinny Thin Pie, I had see what it was all about. I stopped in today around lunch time. I was welcomed by Michael who quickly sat me down, took my ordee and brought me a drink. He then introduced me to his Brother Nick who was just as welcoming as Michael. I told Nick, I hope the Thinny tin is as good as you say on Facebook. Well, it was, and more. My wife and I have lived in Sussex County for 40 years and it was by far, the best pie I have had in the county. Terrible... first of all, the prices are not consistent with the prices online. I ordered cavatelli and broccoli, which is listed at 17.97 online and it is $22 at the restaurant. Same exact thing for my mother-in-law's meal and my wife's mail. The Cavatelli and broccoli looked like soup, tasted like they dumped the pasta water in with the cavatelli. I've never seen cavatelli and broccoli served in a bunch of liquid like that.Barely any pasta for $22. I would say 1/4 cup. The beef, short rib, dinner, same thing. Barely any short rib meat in it.. my mother-in-law who is almost 94 and like a bird, wanted a slice of pizza. They said they can't give her a slice. She has to buy the whole pizza . We had a reservation for a Saturday night but apparently reservations mean nothing so dont bother calling. Patrons walk into a chaotic front space with a woman on the phone taking to go orders. After five or ten minutes an employee walked by and said sarcastically "welcome to Saturday "! A "hostess" came inside from the outdoor seating and asked where we wanted to sit. We asked for outside if possible since inside was noisy and crazy. She went outside and we watched through the glass as she waked around and chatted with people on the boardwalk. Some at tables and some passing by. She came back and we ened up at a noisy corner table behind a folding table of employees folding silverware into napkins. The food took a long time which we understoid for a Saturday but then appetizer, salad, entree, and "famous thinny thin pizza arrived all at once. Waitress said "that happens sometimes ". The clams in brodo were good but no bread with which to enjoy the broth. Waitress said "no one brought you bread"? after we ate the clams. Lasagna was mediocre and the famous pizza was black not crispy but black. Needless to say we will enjoy our many other favorite restaurants in Sparta and not return. Having both worked in restaurants and helped with a family member's restaurant in the past we are very understanding and tolerant about busy Saturday nights but this was too much! The pizza is legitimately 4/5, there's not really many other good thin bar pie types around here and it's worth the high price. Calamari is also good. Everything else after that falls somewhere between you can get better at any other pizzeria nearby or straight up bad by any standard. The risotto I got recently had unmelted shredded CHEDDAR cheese in it and was clearly dropped under a broiler with some slices of other non-italian cheese. It's criminal that an NJ Italian restaurant would serve that. As other reviews here and elsewhere have noted, it is still a complete disaster inside as far as service and pick up. Multiple people have complained about the nasty and overwhelmed woman at the front for a reason. Hopefully they get it together because the pizza is good, the other restaurant is good, and it would be awesome to have a nice restaurant right on the water. read more

This is the best pizza i've ever had in my life! So delicious. Hospitality was amazing as well because I walked by the garlic knots being made and said "oh my god they smell so delicious" and 5 minutes later im greeted with a bowl of three of them! Once seated we were told we had to order everything we wanted & the thinny thin was a 45 minute wait. Why? They were filling all to-go orders first then diners. The restaurant started clearing out. ALL our food came out at the same time. Slightly above room temp. Not hot. We finished...then the thinny-thin pizza showed up (more than 45 minutes).
