I found Dr. Villa to be thorough and pleasant. His office staff were courteous. I did not purchase my glasses from his office.

Dr. Darby provides comprehensive eye care including examinations, eyewear, contact lenses and…read moreaccessories in a comfortable office that is staffed by friendly and knowledgeable professionals. The first thing one notices is that the office doesn't resemble the typical medical office. Instead of industrial carpet and uncomfortable, standard-issue chairs found in most waiting rooms, Dr. Darby's has wood floors (okay, it's laminate) and plush lounge chairs. If it weren't for the frames and sunglasses, it could be Starbuck's. In fact, one of the assistants inquired whether I'd like coffee. The affable assistants efficiently capture and update patient histories and sort through insurance benefits. They're chatty and easily engaged in conversation and banter with patients. As they say, the tone of any office is set by the boss. Dr. Darby is gracious and thorough, and takes time to listen to her patients and explain each of the tests. It's a lengthy examination, but one does not feel overwhelmed. Nor does one feel rushed as though the process for the doctor has become rote. And, mercifully, Dr. Darby does not use the unsettling puff-of-air test to screen for glaucoma. At the conclusion of the tests, Dr. Darby shares in plain terms her findings and educates patients on preventive vision care. While the eye examination could be the perfect lead-in for the hard-sale of glasses or contacts, there is no pressure to buy. If a patient wants to look at frames, fine. Want to shop elsewhere? That's okay too - they give you a copy of the prescription. No one likes being corralled like cattle and, unfortunately, many medical offices take that tact. In contrast, Dr. Darby's office takes a welcome and personal approach that makes the experience both comfortable and enjoyable. Now, if they could just get an espresso maker...

This is unprofessional and poor patient care. I need a new prescription before I can get new contacts and I am on my last pair. For them to cancel without any explanation so close to my appointment date, no option to reschedule to the next available is frustrating. I am going to have to wait however long for the next available appointment with a different practice so I can have contacts to be able to see. Thanks wagoner, good going.

Dr. Norman Kahn is the best eye Dr. I have gone to! I was very nervous to see an Optometrist,…read moreespecially since it had been several years since I had seen one. When I met him, I was instantly at ease with his relaxed, friendly and professional demeanor. I had never had to wear glasses my entire life, and now, (that I had aged a few years), it had become a necessity! Dr. Kahn did a VERY thorough exam and had found a spot in my right eye on the cornea. This apparently was not a new issue. I was completely amazed at this, considering he was my "godfather" and had been my Optometrist and the family eye caretaker ever since my father and he had graduated Medical school together in Philadelphia!!!!! I try to believe that it was due to the lack of technology that was available to them considering the times!!!! Anyway, it was addressed and fortunately was nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on it.. No pun intended..Turns out that I needed glasses severely. No surprise to me! I was fit with a pair of great glasses that would fit my personality and that I also was comfortable with, physically and mentally. From beginning to end,I was treated professionally, with a smile, and, in a timely manner. I could never have asked for more. He had moved from his location and I had gone to Germany for a short time, so, I had lost track of where he had gone. Now I found him and I am going next week. Try him yourself, you'll never find better! I have to add this also, he has the most AMAZING Beatle Illustrations hanging in his office that you will ever see! Thank you Dr Kahn. You ARE the best!

I have worn glasses and contacts for over 30 years - so I have been with several eye practitioners. From the moment that I met Dr. Kahn, I knew that I could trust him. He takes all the time that is needed to carefully examine my eyes, explain the progress, discuss options and find solutions for my eye needs. I never feel like I'm on a patient assembly line - he treats me as an individual with unique concerns. He always gives sound advice but allows me to make the decisions. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the care I receive from Dr. Kahn and his professional staff.

My daughter has been wearing glasses for quite a few years now. When we went in to the Virginia Eye…read moreClinic for a checkup, her prescription changed but I didn't want to buy new frames. The Virginia Eye Clinic repaired my daughter's frames (there was a problem with the screw) for free and changed out the lenses. It was such a quick process that I was amazed. The exam was a good experience too. Before any tests were done, we were explained what the tests were for and asked if we wanted them to go ahead and perform them. I declined one test for my daughter that I felt was a little uncomfortable, when it was done on me at my last exam. VEC is a great doctors office and the people I've met there are very knowledgeable.

He had a co-pay which we expected but then they charged for test they completed that insurance wouldn't pick up. He then went in to get a copy of his test to turn in for possible active duty service and they charged him another 20 dollars to get copies of the test. However, they couldn't print them out because the person wasn't there that can do that so he then had to wait 7-14 business days. Employees were friendly but the extra charges are the first I have experienced with 9 kids who have appointments every year in 15 years of appointments, especially for college kids who are most likely on a limited budget.
