For some reason my insurance wasn't coming up when I first came to FFEC and it took some time but…read moreeventually they figured it out. I got my examination and my prescription and that went well. They didn't have frames that I liked so I went elsewhere. No problem. My girlfriend and I noticed the woman who was helping us was being oddly passive aggressive but we ignored it and went on about our day. I find frames I like someplace else and the woman who was helping me get set up called to ask for help from someone from FFEC and whoever answered her was very rude to her, ended the call abruptly and made her cry. Not sure if it was the same person as before but I think I know the name of the person but I won't say it in case I'm wrong. Disappointed in the staff but the doctor who examined my eyes was very nice and professional.

When I met him, I was instantly at ease with his relaxed, friendly and professional demeanor. I had never had to wear glasses my entire life, and now, (that I had aged a few years), it had become a necessity! Dr. Kahn did a VERY thorough exam and had found a spot in my right eye on the cornea. This apparently was not a new issue. I was completely amazed at this, considering he was my "godfather" and had been my Optometrist and the family eye caretaker ever since my father and he had graduated Medical school together in Philadelphia!!!!! I try to believe that it was due to the lack of technology that was available to them considering the times!!!! Anyway, it was addressed and fortunately was nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye on it.. No pun intended..Turns out that I needed glasses severely. No surprise to me! I was fit with a pair of great glasses that would fit my personality and that I also was comfortable with, physically and mentally. From beginning to end,I was treated professionally, with a smile, and, in a timely manner. I could never have asked for more. He had moved from his location and I had gone to Germany for a short time, so, I had lost track of where he had gone. Now I found him and I am going next week. Try him yourself, you'll never find better! I have to add this also, he has the most AMAZING Beatle Illustrations hanging in his office that you will ever see! Thank you Dr Kahn. You ARE the best!

I have worn glasses and contacts for over 30 years - so I have been with several eye practitioners. From the moment that I met Dr. Kahn, I knew that I could trust him. He takes all the time that is needed to carefully examine my eyes, explain the progress, discuss options and find solutions for my eye needs. I never feel like I'm on a patient assembly line - he treats me as an individual with unique concerns. He always gives sound advice but allows me to make the decisions. I could not be more pleased with the quality of the care I receive from Dr. Kahn and his professional staff.

I needed wrap-around sport frames to fight glare. I brought in the specialized frames from Sunglass Hut in Lynchburg. She guided me in the fine details needed to create the prescription glasses. She did what was previously deemed not possible. How wonderful it was to hear that they could create the glasses that I needed. Sheila helped with my order and kindly kept me appraised of its progress. She was wonderful to work with. I highly recommend A G Jefferson!

Luckily an angel appeared telling us to go to A.G.Jefferson. We were welcomed by Sheila who looked all through their frames and found 3 different frames that his lens would fit into. This is unprofessional and poor patient care. I need a new prescription before I can get new contacts and I am on my last pair. For them to cancel without any explanation so close to my appointment date, no option to reschedule to the next available is frustrating. I am going to have to wait however long for the next available appointment with a different practice so I can have contacts to be able to see. Thanks wagoner, good going.

Firstly this comment concerns the Harman optical department in Forest and not the Doctor and eye…read moreexam which were very good and thorough. The issue started when I visited the optical department to order my glasses. I have good eye insurance and was surprised when the lady there started adding on various costs to my glasses order. She also added on anti glare without asking which I declined. I paid, but was not happy with the charges (little over $162). I went home and talked to my eye insurance consultant who explained my plan. I returned to Harman optical and talked to the same lady again. Her response was that the insurance phone people do not know what they are talking about and that she has been doing this for many years. I called my insurance again and told them of my charges and they said that optical are in error after checking the bill Harman optical submitted. I returned again to the same lady and told her this information. She went off to presumably check my insurance plan again. Finally charge adjusted to $45, refund check by mail to take about 6 weeks. No apology from her....nothing. Called my insurance yet again and told them what transpired, they informed me I was still overcharged $20 which they corrected. My advice for everyone ordering glasses at this location is to thoroughly verify all charges with your insurance before paying. Perhaps better to take your prescription elsewhere to order glasses.

They will never return a phone call. Don't ever expect them to care. It doesn't matter how many text messages or messages you leave they will never call you back. And you can't get them to answer the phone at all unless you use the appointment line.

They mess up insurance, and are not friendly at all. Also you are required to pay a 60$ contact fitting fee just to order contacts. You don't even get to have a contact fitting, and you still have to pay the 60$ day of the appointment. I am never going there again. Had awful experiences last couple of times I have been in there. I would not recommend Newman and Blackstock to my worst enemy.
