Looking back, our family could not be more grateful for the care, compassion, and community they experienced. What sets Belmont apart is that it feels like a home, not a facility. From the front desk staff to the restaurant team, caregivers, nurses, and leadership, there is a genuine sense of warmth, joy, and respect that extends to residents and their families. My father often told us how grateful he was to live there and always referred to Belmont as "home." The staff truly knew and cared about my parents as individuals. Whether it was remembering my dad's favorite meals, supporting his faith, keeping him engaged through activities and Circle of Friends, or providing comfort and dignity during the final chapter of his life, their kindness was evident every day. Our father lived nearly five years after losing our mother and continued to enjoy a rich, meaningful life because of the exceptional care and community Belmont provided. Knowing he was safe, valued, and genuinely cared for brought our family tremendous peace. Entrusting your parents' care to others is one of life's hardest decisions. Belmont Village Cardiff exceeded every expectation. We will always be grateful for the love, dignity, and support they gave our parents and our family.

The mgr Stephanie never seems to be available for a call or in person meeting and upon our visits she's never present in the office. There have been occasions where Ive stopped by to speak with her and while told she was on a call she was seen leaving out of her door & exiting the property. I'm almost certain there's no hope in getting things resolved and we don't plan to renew! I see some residents in the reviews who constantly nag and keep tabs on staff as if they are their nurse or sitter however we try our best to stay out of the way unless a case of an emergency or a question relating to our ledger, work order, or any other property matter unrelated to snacks and drinks! So it saddens me that when we are reaching out about more important matters we are unable to reach the manager and feel she doesn't not want to engage. I believe the constant turnover in front desk staff shouldn't only speak to the employee in itself but also to the management team leading them and setting the tone for a welcoming and productive work environment Lastly ( whether we stay or not ) we've seen a few people come and go in this desk upfront but I really hope the new leasing consultant Darian is here to stay! She has been very helpful and supportive when we call and she has an attentiveness like we haven't seen from office staff in a while when we visit. I hope that these residents in the reviews don't run her off by simply treating her as if she's their sitter and not their front office staff.

She is paying a lot for her studio apartment there and an additional $800 for her assisted care. They recently gave her an invoice that her $800 charge was increased to $1300. They don't even help her now!!!! They refuse to put her arthritis cream on her shoulders but a give her a full shower??? I'm so mad and sad for her. No one who works there seems to care at all. My grandma pressed her life alert at 9:20 one night, no one arrives until almost 11pm because the one person on staff just WENT HOME EARLY BECAUSE SHE WAS TIRED??? No other staff to help with residents and my grandma just had her necklace beeping for over an hour. When someone finally showed up for her to changed her bra and underwear if was some 19 year old man she didn't know. She'd told the staff she was only comfortable with a woman doing that. She's paying so much. This is cruel. I'm on the verge of seeking out a lawyer. This is bordering on elder abuse. Care has been absolutely horrible, especially for the charge and now this increase. Things seem ok, and we are talking about what life might be like for my mother at La Vida....she them informs me that caregivers cannot eat in the cafe with residents..because of the "look".... they just want it to appear like no one has any health issues I guess. Dealbreaker.... I will not have my mother's caregiver made to sit off to the side of the dining area like a second hand person...like an underling. Who is going to be upset if a patron has some help with them? La Vida should post their severe restrictions upfront so people in a very difficult time don't waste their time. After touring several board-and-care places, we knew Garden Abode was the best choice. Nothing compared in terms of the level of care and quality. Melissa and the staff at Garden Abode treated her with kindness and respect. We couldn't recommend Garden Abode more highly.

It is run by…read morea very professional, kind and compassionate individual with staff who care very much about all the people who come to stay. If there are 6 residents the staff ratio is one to three. This is crucial and pretty much as good as it gets. It's a close as you will find to a home from home. The care given by Melissa and her staff is amazing. The accommodation ranges from shared rooms through single ensuites and a great kitchen, dining room and lounge areas. And the garden is sunny with lots of beautiful plants and a very cool resident tortoise who is very fond of hibiscus flowers. When I initially visited, Melissa sat and talked with me for more than 2 hours. She will listen to what it is your loved one needs and talk through everything and help you with every step of the process, she will tell you exactly what she can and can't do. She has been running Garden Abode for more than 15 years and has a wealth of knowledge about everything you will need to know. She will manage meds, special diets and advise on Hospice when the time comes. She is very flexible on visiting and will accommodate any reasonable requests. The task may seem overwhelming to you but once the initial intake admin is complete Melissa and her staff will be able to provide comprehensive and compassionate care for your loved one. My husband was in their care for seven months. I was unable to keep him home any longer and Melissa and the staff really did provide a home for him. This was not an easy time by any means and Melissa helped our family navigate it with as much grace and dignity as is possible. If you are looking for care for yourself or a loved one in a comfortable and caring environment it may be the best thing you do to just give her a call and talk to her. If you leave a message she will call you back promptly. This part of life is a very difficult one to navigate. The decision to put your loved one into care is, at the very least, heart-wrenching. The facilities available range from massive expensive institutions run by corporations where, if your loved one is on the quiet side and deteriorating they may not receive the care you would hope for (and they are very much institutions regardless of what you may see when you tour) to small Board and Care facilities with a few beds and a dedicated staff, and everything in between. A Board and Care facility may well provide more personalized and superior care than a far more expensive large institution. Some are obviously better than others and you will know the facility that's right when you find it. I looked at many facilities trying to find accommodation for my husband who had dementia and was deteriorating. I came out of every tour of every facility and sat in the car and wept because I felt there was no way I could leave him in any of them.... then I found Garden Abode and Melissa. I can recommend them wholeheartedly. I don't think I could have found better and I thank Melissa, her daughter and the rest of the staff from the bottom of my heart. x

I knew I had found the place for her after touring the facility and meeting with Kitty, the Community Relations Director, and Randal, the Executive Director. This is a fairly new building (just a couple of years old) and it has a lot of light and lovely artwork in all of the hallways, where music is often playing. There's a fireplace and grand piano in the spacious entry room (it's so much more than a lobby)! The apartments, (studios, and, 1 and 2 bedrooms) are good sizes and have high ceilings, kitchens, full-sized washers and dryers. The apartments and bathrooms also work with wheelchairs so your loved one can "age-in-place" if necessary. The Westmont of Encinitas staff and residents are friendly and kind. My mother has now been there for about a month and is happy there. My sister and I are relieved to have her in a place that is designed for assisting her as her needs increase and also for her to be in a place where she is safe and can make friends. The social element here is up to the resident to a certain extent. There are activities and outings, as well as dining, for social opportunities. Also in the building, there is a small indoor (very warm) pool, a courtyard, a movie room with large, comfy seats, a dining area, a recreation room for activities. There is also on-site physical and occupational therapy. When first working with Kitty on selecting an apartment, filling out forms, sending forms for others (ie: doctors) to fill out, I was overwhelmed. Kitty was so patient, kind, and accessible. She worked with me and my out-of-state mother and was always reachable or would get back to me within 24-hours. She also could always answer my questions... of which I had many! I've also noticed (and heard from my mom) that Randal, Anisa, Christine, and of course Kitty, will go to the lengths necessary for their residents to be happy and feel that they are HOME. They are all enthusiastic and ready to help with any issue big or small. It truly is impressive. I feel very fortunate to have found Westmont of Encinitas for my mom!

We were hopeful it would be a good fit and after almost a month, Westmont surprised us by exceeding our expectations. The health and resident providers are caring and incredible. Concerns are addressed immediately. Donelle the executive director, and the entire Westmont team- especially Stephanie -have provided the highest level of customer service to both the resident and their families. So far, Mom says the dining room produces tasty and nutritious meals. The dining staff tries hard to please. The common areas are lovely and always clean. The hallways smell great and fresh on our regular visits. However, the best part for our mom is the combination and superior quality of the resident activities. This combined with the Westmont community have made a tremendous difference in keeping Mom engaged and busy. We didn't realize how much mom needed this aspect. Living here seems to have cured her loneliness that had crept in the past year and that she tried to hide from us. She continues to be very involved with her family, but now she has the much needed social connections without the increasingly strenuous effort it took on her part when she lived alone. Live music, field trips, holiday celebrations, current events -wow! Lots going on...Every. Single. Day. Fellow residents have welcomed her and the staff encourages interactions. When she tires, mom retreats to her very well-appointed apartment. It's remarkable to us how quickly Mom began thriving here. The impressive Westmont team have been the answer to our prayers after a very trying time spent in the hospital and skilled nursing. Our family is extremely grateful.

This year Ranch View celebrated Thanksgiving one week early and we invited our best friends who attended and made the day even more special. For the second year in a row our family wanted to bring Thanksgiving to Kathleen at Ranch View on Thanksgiving day. Maria and staff set up a table and 10 chairs in a private room for our family Thanksgiving and it was a huge success. Nothing will ever replace our home holidays but in my opinion Ranch View has made the extra effort so Kathleen and our family feel like we have a home away from home. Thank you Maria and staff
