The food is great but a fabulous dining experience is just not about the culinary piece, it is about an attentive wait staff, a 'home like environment' and relaxing setting. I always enjoy eating at the Villa. The affordable, delicious food and the great company with my husband and our friends make a great evening. The service is always spot on. My parents and grandparents dined here since the 50's. Whenever I am visiting Villa is on top of my list! I love their minestrone soup, the ravioli, breadsticks and pizza, but everything looks good. Never ever a bad experience. Always great food and great service, both for dine in and take-out. In fact, growing up, I always asked my dad to go get minestrone soup for me when I was sick. I love that they have been an East Detroit, and now an Eastpointe, family run independent establishment for so long. When we want Italian food, this is where we go. We have been dining here for over 30 years, and we have never been disappointed. The salads are house made, not out of any bag, and the house dressing is so delicious, that they could make a good living just selling that. The pasta is always done to perfection. We've tried several of the sauces, and while they are all very good, my personal favorite is the alfredo sauce. Our absolute favorite, all in all, is the deep dish pizza. It rivals anything around, including Cloverleaf. The atmosphere is a bit cliche' with the cans of tomatoes and jars of noodles everywhere, but they've been around long enough, so they can do what they want. You can even order a nice bottle of wine if you want to be a little romantic, and the price is very reasonable. read more

Had a great dinner with my father, our waitress Val, really went the extra mile and was quite possibly the best server I've ever had. She was very busy but made us feel as if we were the only table (as I'm sure her other tables felt that way as well. The lasagna was delicious and we will be returning very soon. I visited the Villa restaurant on February 10th in Eastpointe. The staff was warm and inviting from the time we walked into the restaurant until our departure. Our dining experience was wonderful; the food was great and arrived quite quickly. The entire staff worked together as team, to ensure diners tables were cleared in a timely fashion as well as getting food out to the tables while it was still hot. The restaurant was clean and some new décor was on the walls. Our waitress was pleasant and efficient. The manager was present the entire time we were dining, walking the floor engaging customers and helping the entire staff. I would recommend the Villa to everyone. read more

The food was wonderful, the service was the worst. Our server started out cranky which was surprising. Mid meal drinks were requested, we were barked at that they would be there in a minute, and they never came, napkins asked for never came. There were 14 of us, we asked for the bills to be separated into 4 diffferent ones from the beginning, our server insisted on waiting till the end. What a mess trying to figure out who had what. I was treating a friend of 30 years for his 69th birthday, so I wanted to pick out a great restaurant near his house, I used YELP. Villa was listed as number 1 out of 74 restaurants in Eastpointe. A lot of reviews said it was so much better than all the Italian chain restaurants, so I was very hopeful. We arrived at Villa's about 5:15 PM, it was mostly empty. Our drink orders were taken. The bread that was brought was tasteless, like store bought, not warm or fresh. Pretzels were hard as a rock. We ordered Calamari for an appetizer. Big mistake. The smallest Calamari you will ever see in your lifetime. They were tiny, over fried and tasteless. The only reason we ate about half of them was the marinara sauce with them was pretty good. We had a choice between soup or salad. I choose the Minestrone soup. They brought my friends salad, which was good sized. He didn't say anything about the taste, so I am assuming it was ok. My soup turned out to be a small cup. It had a lot of vegetables, but no flavor. Probably frozen. I added salt and it was ok. Then our entrée's came. My friend had the Walleye and it came with a side plate of spaghetti with marinara sauce. He finished it all and said it was good. I had "Tony Favorites" A trio of Fettuccine Alfredo, Veal Parmesan and Lasagna. The Fettuccine was ok, I have had better, the Veal was dry and as I was finishing it I noticed it was very dark (freezer burn perhaps?) Didn't tastes all the good, and the lasagna was ok. They put on a whole handful of powdered cheese on top of the Lasagna. Some of the Lasagna pasta was over cooked and I had to spit it out because it was un-chewable. The waitress remarked that I was the first person she had ever seen finish (she didn't notice a quarter of the lasagna was spit out on my plate) "Tony's Favorite's Trio". I wasn't surprised. I hadn't eaten all day, but the previous patrons didn't finish because of the quality and taste was lacking. I had mentioned to the waitress a couple times that it was my friend's birthday, so she did wish him a happy birthday, before she picked up the payment for the check. I was disappointed they didn't comp the cannoli he took home for his birthday desert. Normally I would give a restaurant a second chance, thinking they had a bad night, but everything was so sub standard, I won't be back. The food was "edible". The service was adequate. I think the waitress has been working too long as a waitress. No enthusiasm, not overly friendly or the least bit interested in the food she serves. I'm sorry to report that Olive Garden is 10 times better than this place. read more

Walked into the villa about a month or so ago (writing this now because I needed to write a review for another awful restaurant in East Detroit) to find a small girl hosting, I'm not even sure if she was old enough to have a job and as we waited for a table we just stood around waiting for her to come back. 5 minutes later after seated this tall blond kid with glasses that kept holding his arms at his chest for some reason didn't even bring water for the entire table and when I asked him for one more he never got to it I had to ask the waitress. Not only did the bus boy not get us the water but when we had plates that we were finished using sitting on the side of the table he just walked by and refused to grab them. Now that we were all crammed up in this booth with empty plates the waitress Paula I think her name was, kindly took the plates and left with a remark about "the new kid being afraid to grab plates off tables, he must be scared of customers." The food came and the pizza was tasteless along with the rock solid pretzel sticks we were forced to eat because we were so hungry. The service was decent but the bus boy was awful along with the food. NEVER coming back. read more
