Haven't been here since college. Ordered the stuffed mushroom, house salad, lasagna, sole e limone, salmon Caprese, Vitello Faraone. We got two Caesar salads and two house salad. I asked for a double house salad, but I only ever received one side salad only. The house salad and Caesar salads were okay. The fresh bread is good, chewy. The Vitello, sole and the salmon all came with a side of bolognese pasta. Mom took mine since don't eat ground red meat. The stuffed mushrooms was so-so, bland and mostly tasted like mushy crumbled bread bits inside of the mushroom caps. It was nothing special. We had to ask two times for another basket of bread. The lasagna was decent. The salmon Caprese was okay, a bit salty even without the capers. The sole limon was good for mom. The Vitello faraone was good my step-dad. Service and food was so-so.

Traditional Italian restaurant in a real neighborhood. Limited street parking but spaces in the alley just for those who dine there. What stands out is the wonderful service. Bread baskets refilled and drink refilled as needed. Even have our group separate checks. The food is just above average. Calamari appetizer had too much breading but that was the only problem. Everyone took home part of the main course. The lack of dessert caused me to take a star off. Only had a lemon something. This is almost a sin for an Italian restaurant. If I am in the neighborhood and want Italian food, I will stop but will not drive from the west side again.

We came here for a celebration dinner and overall it was ok. The staff was nice and the food came pretty quick. We were in like the first dining room and it was really dark but nice I guess. The pizza was not what I expected for an Italian restaurant honestly I thought it would be better. My family liked their dishes, they got lasagna, spaghetti and ravioli. Overall it would personally be a 7/10 in my opinion.

Excellent service. Food was good as well. Don't recommend the scarmoza. But the break Parmesan and the butternut squash ravioli were fire.

Because of this, my experience with many other menu items at Salvatore Scallopini on Greater Mack Ave. is limited. That said, I have 2 favorite meals that I hope never disappear from the menu. The first is the Filleto Diana, which is my choice when I celebrate my birthday or Mother's Day. The steak, which are two beef tenderloins, that are sautéed with mushrooms, scallions and garlic in a sauce of brandy cream has been perfection, each time I've ordered it. In May of this year, 2026, I ordered take-out, instead of dining in, and was a little apprehensive because my experience with using take-out at most other restaurants has been that the amount of food, delivered, is usually disappointingly less than when I've dined-in. My experience with this take out that my son picked up for me, was pleasantly surprising in that the restaurant had not skimped on any of the items ordered, a total of 3 complete meals for 3 people. My steak was cooked perfectly, arriving with the warm pink center that "Medium" calls for. It was still very warm, tender, cut like butter, and flavorful. The flavors of the mushrooms, scallions, garlic and brandy cream melded together, enhancing, not covering up, the flavor of the steak. The garlic and scallions did not overpower the mushrooms, and the brandy cream added richness to the dish as a whole. I was not able to finish the entire steak at one sitting, and I even had skipped ordering the soup in order to not "fill up" too soon with the accompanying bread that I love, and side of pasta in a tomato sauce. I ate a little of the excellent mashed potatoes that were included with the meal, and saved the rest for later. The meal was delicious!!! Since the steak still had a pink center, it remained tender and moist after reheating it , later, along with the mashed potatoes and pasta. My other favorite meal that I have ordered several times is "Chicken Tosca", which has a very delicately breaded coating, not too heavy, and barely noticeable, just the right amount to help the sauce coat the chicken and give it additional flavor. The chicken breast is sautéed with mushrooms and a lemon wine sauce. I've rarely added my own salt or pepper to this meal, except just once, where I felt it needed a little boost in the flavor. I'd rather have a meal served with a little less salt, than too much, as salt and pepper can easily be added to taste, after the dish is prepared. I have ordered the Chicken Tosca both as dine-in, and delivered, and, as with the Filleto Diana, the take out meal had as much food as the dine-in meal. The restaurant happily did not skimp! Maybe in the future, I will order a different meal here, whenever I need a new taste experience.........Naw...!

We had 2 couples and they customized the menu for us based on our likes and dislikes. We got 5 courses starting with appetizers, followed by pasta (which I forgot to get photos of), then sides, entrees and dessert. Plus a little aperitif to start the meal off. Zero complaints about any of the dishes. My favorite dish was probably the artichokes and the steak. So delicious! The atmosphere at the restaurant was very fun and modern. And our server was very knowledgeable and helpful when we had questions about the dishes. If you want an even more elevated experience, they have a sommelier that will come to your table and assist with picking wine to pair with your meal.

You'll want reservations because it fills up quick. We were promptly seated and greeted my our waitress, Mary. She was very attentive and knows the menu. She explained every dish and made excellent recommendations. We all started out with an Aperol Spritz, because what says Italy more than a spritz!?! We ordered a few appetizers, artichoke, squash and asparagus. The squash was unique. It had pickled summer squash, a vegetable that I never considered pickling. Simply delicious. The asparagus was perfectly cooked and the sauce really enhanced it. Great side dish. I did not try the artichoke, but my wife and daughter both said they were amazing. For mains, I ordered the Aragosta fra Diavolo, my wife the Cappelletti and my daughters the Carbonara. All were delicious. The fra diavolo had a nice light kick of heat and loaded with lobster tail. Excellent dish. I highly recommend Shewolf. It's a phenomenal restaurant that takes pride in their food, service and the whole experience.

And the food...OMG, the food. The smoked duck breast was spectacular. Truly amazing. The mushroom pizza was delicious, and I honestly couldn't stop eating it. We also had the ricotta, egg, truffle, and kombucha pasta. It was good, just not quite as incredible as everything else. The egg inside was cooked solid, and I think if the yolk had been just a little runny, it would have taken the dish completely over the top. Such a great dinner. Can't wait to come back!

The bacon scone was absolutely outstanding, however you have to ask for butter for this, which is a must, but that was the only thing for a $325 brunch bill for 4 people. The entrees were cold when we received them, and one took so long to get that it was actually comped by the restaurant. The steak and egg benny was okay. The egg was overcooked and only jammy and not runny, and the croissant which had the steak on it was super oily and gross. There is a reason why a biscuit or english muffin is used in this dish, so whoever decided a croissant was a good idea is not smart, or eating the current weekend chef's food. The potato frites super greasy and oily as well as cold. Draining them on a paper towel would have been clutch. We had other entrees that no one finished because of the quality and taste of the food. It would have been helpful if the kitchen staff put the food under a salamander or heat light. If they have one of these, it certainly wasn't working that day in proper order. This is not a place I would ever go to brunch again. Maybe I would try dinner have one of their cheaper dinners as the $34 benny was overpriced and underperforming. I am giving this place three stars rather than one because the service was great unlike the food.
