Great wines, beautiful property, and the perk of a bistro onsite too. We tasted six wines--a mix of red, white, and sweet. All were good but I had some clear favorites. My dad is a member so tastings were complimentary; also comp'ed if you purchase a bottle. Loved the red barbera and reserve port (which was not as sweet as the house port). We sat at a lovely spot near the water and didn't have to wait long for our pizza and French dip. So nice to have food available right there. Now I know why this is my dad's fav (and he knows wine well) plus worth the hour+ drive from Lincoln to Plymouth.

Great winery to visit and enjoy a nice area to have lunch and just enjoy the outdoors. Great selection of wine and cute landscape for some great photos. They have a merc store with some really cute purses and reasonable prices!

What we received was far short that our anticipation. No greeting, no attentive service. Staff appeared under prepared and I do believe Erika deserved better. I've been a customer for decades and a club member for 5 + years. I expect better but not sure this venue can provide. I'd like to provide commentary and advice but it may be too late . On the plus side wines are still very good.

Came here with friends for the free pasta Sunday lunch. We ordered a bottle of delicious wine and then enjoyed the pasta, salad and focaccia bread buffet. After lunch we enjoyed generous pours by Dan in the tasting room. Our friends were club members and said the membership required 4 bottles purchased 3 times a year. If you enjoy wine and pasta you should definitely pay Villa Toscana a visit

A perfectly delightful assemblage of buildings, gardens, and outdoor spaces... it was unfortunate that the temperature was 109 degrees, too. We have a bottle of their wine that we got as a gift and haven't tried yet, but then comes with high accolades. Primarily, we came for an afternoon 'snack'. Due to the weather, very few people were here. There's a separate building from the wine tasting room for a small deli type cafe, without any indoor seating. There's a large outdoor tent for dining and events, and we waited there for a grilled chicken sandwich wne a salad. Staff was friendly and gave us napkins and utensils to take the meal off site to our hotel, where we could eat at a decent temperature. We'll go back when the weather is better and explore the other parts of this place, including a wine tasting.

Tritip bbq Sando and what was supposed to be a $14.99 full size ceasar salad which was not worth the money.

I ordered a full size Ceasar and got a side salad for $14.99. Looks like a lot in the picture but it's actually 1 inch high and didn't fill half of the box.

This winery is a do not miss winery! Best white wines I've ever had. Service is friendly and accommodating. Location is beautiful and tranquil. Lots of parking. No reservation needed.

Ordered pizza and a lemon and berry mascarpone cake and drank two glasses of wine (Bella Rosa & Viognier) It was all delicious, clearly home made and the wine was *chef's kiss*. Beautiful setting, can't beat the views.

Today they ran out of food at 1:30pm for the members. Had over 30 people waiting for food. The guy whom runs the counter ran out of wine glasses and clearly there is an issue. When we drive over one hour to come here. This is disappointing they should plan better as today is Sunday and it's a nice day.

    Yummy desserts!

Loved the wine tasting, but the experience was ruined by the poor food service and soggy salads that took 45 minutes to serve.

Ask the Community - Villa Toscano Winery

I'm very new to wine tasting. Do we just show up? Or do you make appointments? Is this very much like club hopping, but more sophisticated? Hmmm...I just live around here and drive by so maybe if like to stop in some day.

Hi, if you would like to have a sit down tasting it will require a reservation. But, if you are just popping in at the bar, no reservation required. Cheers! 209-245-3800 for reservations.

In my opinion, they are doing so many things to enhance the wine tasting experience, it could blow away the competition. Examples are as follows: 1. Rebuilding, refinishing and updating the tasting room and facility. 2. Hiring the former Sous Chef from Taste restaurant to create food offerings/pairings and provide a small bite sample with wine tasting. 3. Display unique and unusual art in and around the property. (They have seven full size panels from the Berlin Wall adjacent to the tasting room.) 4. Staff is exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. 5. The wine pricing is reasonable when compared to the quality. 6. Both the food and wine are excellent. That said, I think the one possible stumbling point could be their attempt to blend in their east coast sister wines and styles with this region. It might be an interesting idea, but I am uncertain people locally will appreciate or understand the effort. The Amador wine region is not Napa Valley, and I don't think it possesses the international appeal, notoriety or demographics that will support the concept of bi-coastal wines. In any event, we will return to further experience the ongoing evolution of this remarkable winery.

I had to show them the email confirmation. It was fine and we were still able to sit down right away. The inside wine tasting room is kind of small but the outdoor patio and area makes up for it. It is quite big and open. I think someone can host an outdoor concert or a wedding. We got to taste about five type of wines (Sauvignon Blanc and few blended red wine). They were all good. I particularly like the 2020 Interlude and purchased a bottle for my sister. We also got to sample from their gallery collection library club that's like 20+ years old ( I forgot the exact year) and that was special. They also have dumplings and spring rolls for purchase. I skip that because I wasn't sure if that would go with the wine. We bought some cheese with us and we had that with our wine. Of course, we asked for permission before bringing in our own cheese and crackers. The gentleman that served us was really nice and friendly. We didn't feel rushed and wine was poured at a good pace. I do want to mention that most winery at Amador will comp at least one tasting with purchase, but not at Di Arie. If you're not a member, be prepared to pay the full wine tasting fee per person.

And of course to meet and chat with the wine maker himself, Chaim, was a wonderful treat! The grounds were small, but very cute and relaxing. It made for a warm, friendly ambiance! Of course we walked away with a case of the Sierra and the 3 OG vintage wines! We're definitely coming back in a few weeks. Thank you Di Arie!

Apparently, this is the related winery to Villa Toscano located nearby, which we had previously visited. Once again, I found myself a fan of this place also! It too, is surrounded by eye pleasing countryside views, with lovely ponds, fountains, flowers and comfortable seating areas along the outdoor patios. The entrance opens into a large room where the tasting counter is at the far end. But before getting there, you are tempted on the way over to browse the retail area which features home decor, artwork, designer accessories, and clever wine connoisseur gifts. The walls are decorated with assorted flags and a family style crest over the focal point of the wine tasting bar. The wines offered on the wine tasting list were similar to what we had tried before at Villa Toscano. But we ordered another $5.00 flight that included our favorites along with a few we hadn't tried yet. We enjoyed the flavor variations, but had a hard time deciding on what to purchase, so we went outside for a while to take in the scenery and discuss which ones we liked the best.
