We originally planned to try another highly rated Italian restaurant in the area, but after reading more detailed reviews, it seemed overpriced with inconsistent quality and smaller portions--more suited for a date night than a family meal where value matters. Based on my brother-in-law's recommendation, we decided to try this place instead, and I'm glad we did. From the start, the experience stood out. The food quality was excellent, and the portions were surprisingly generous--something you don't often find at Italian restaurants. They also offer complimentary bread with a choice of soup or salad, which is becoming increasingly rare. Even more impressive, these weren't afterthoughts. The bread was perfectly crusty and served with a flavorful olive oil infused with tomato and garlic. Both the salad and chicken soup were fresh and well-prepared. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. I had the chicken Sorrento with prosciutto and mushrooms over pasta, and it was outstanding--well-balanced, flavorful, and cooked just right. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely designed, creating a comfortable atmosphere without feeling overly formal. Service was quick, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout. Location is on busy Highway 17 N. Parking is adequate for the restaurant of this size. When inside, the restaurant is darkly lit, with candle light. Numerous tables and booths available for seating, as well as the bar. And outside dining is also an option. Prices & portions seem reasonable. This place appears to get quite busy and also looks to have many regulars. Family-owned- European and Northern Italian influence. We came on a Saturday night, shorty before close, so we were able to get two seats at the bar. Our bartender was extremely attentive throughout our visit. Complementary bread is provided. Comes with a nice oil and garlic blend. Ordered the Bucatini Puttanesca & Spaghetti with Italian Sausage. These come with a dinner salad or up grade to a Caesar for $2 more (which I did). Both salads were fresh and delicious. I will say one of the best caesar dressings I've had. The pasta, presentation was lovely. The flavors bland, tomato sauce (tastes straight from the can) had no additional spices present and the pasta way over cooked. Seems their noodles are pre-cooked and Al Dente then is just not possible. This is another reason why the rating was just below average. Really disappointing. My best friend treated me to dinner for my birthday. I felt badly that she spent so much money and got so little in return. The calamari was no where as plentiful as in the past, the salad was alot of lettuce, a piece of cucumber cut up and a piece or two of tomato. We left it. Entree was tasty, but again, not plentiful. Four of us visited last night for dinner and all were happy with their different meal choices. Alina provided us with excellent attentive service. The food arrived promptly and was presented well. All pastas were cooked perfectly. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the marinara sauce served with my pasta. It was sparing and rather boring tasting without much flavor. We enjoyed the complimentary bread and shared the shrimp Florentine appetizer, four large fresh shrimp wrapped in prosciutto in oil; this is the highlight of the meal and I would get again. Salads were appropriately timed after our appetizer. Caesar was well dressed and delicious but I was disappointed there were no croutons. Husband was extremely pleased with the house made Italian dressing. The entrees were timed perfectly and served very hot. The meals themselves were a disappointment- I had a bland veal parm, which was slightly improved with "shaker" cheese and salt. Husband's clams over a very overcooked and starchy pasta - it seems they must pre-cook the pasta and leave it soaking in the water. The portions are huge, and prices are very reasonable, which is probably why the restaurant was hopping. This is a large place, with very comfortable booths. Service was very good. We started with the Fried Calamari which was Lightly Breaded and Fried with a side of somewhat Spicy Marinara Sauce. The sauce was good, but the Calamari was a bit tough. The wife had Linguini With Clams Sauce. The Clams were a bit overcooked and tough. The wife also did not enjoy the clam sauce which was very bitter. The wife also ordered a side of meatballs, which she loved. The meatballs were large and the sauce was excellent. This made her wish she had gotten the spaghetti and meatballs, which are probably fantastic. I ordered and enjoyed the Zuppa Di Pesce. This was a massive (and I mean massive) plate (no service platter), of Shrimp, Sea Scallops, Calamari, PEI Mussels, Little Neck Clams, sauteed in a Fra Diavolo sauce, all served over linguini. The sauce was good and spicy, but if I had to do it again, I would get it Marinara. I also got a side of Italian Sausage, which I had to take home and eat the next day, because as stated above, my Zuppa Di Pesce was so massive. The side dish contained 2 good size sausages in Marinara sauce which were excellent and made for a great. I would defiantly order them again. read more

We went this August for a Sunday meal. My husband ordered a pasta dish problem came when the pasta was way over cooked it was like mush. Called the waiter..he took the dish in the back.. We arrived early for our anniversary for happy hour which is restricted to the bar area. Promptly at 4 o'clock the doors opened and the bar quickly filled. My Fiancé had the eggplant rollatini, had ok sauce but the eggplant had an off flavor. My fiancée had this many times in the past at other restaurants but this meal did not taste right. I had The Bucatini Puttanesca and added chicken, the chicken was good but the sauce was not a marinara sauce as advertised and just not that good. The dinner salad was tiny, so small, it was underwhelming. Wife got the chicken parm which was two chicken breasts with spaghetti. It was excellent. I got the chicken marsala which was also two chicken breasts with penne. The marsala lacked flavor, was very bland, and while plentiful, didn't taste nearly as good as it looked. It wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't anything I would order again. Ordered tiramisu for dessert to go, son liked it, but it was very small. A lot to like about Villa, but not perfect. There were 5 of us and we were seated in a nice area of the restaurant. There was an Elvis impersonator singing which was a hoot - we would have liked to have been closer but we could hear him, but not see him. Our server was attentive and everything was handled in a timely manner for 5 starving ladies. 2 of us got a salmon special with tomato bisque soup. Both were delicious and the portion was large. A bit pricey - I should have guessed since it was the special - I think it was $30. Others got various pasta dishes and a veal marsala. Everyone liked their food. Everyone but 1 got a glass of wine. This restaurant is 5 Star off the chart. My wife and I moved to the area about 3 years ago from Charlotte. For those of you who do not know Charlotte has the best of the best. We were wondering if we were going to find a really good restaurant here in Myrtle Beach area. We have done the best restaurants all over this country, Europe, and Caribbean so we are kind of picky. We have found Villa Toscana to be right there on top!! They have great specials and they are very consistent. The service is also top notch from the greeters at the door and then the servers. The other night we had a special sword fish with pasta and unbelievable wine sause. They have great italian dishes and they even do a great steak. We are so glad they are there! We arrived pretty late on Friday evening and the servers were very nice and accommodating! We tried to order as quickly as possible and they weren't rude or pushy at all. The server (I don't recall her name) was helpful with recommendations on the menu and the food was delicious. I tried the mushroom ravioli (almost got the manicotti but the server persuaded me to get the mushroom ravioli instead). It came a Gorgonzola cream sauce which was not overwhelmingly flavored of Gorgonzola. I really enjoyed the dish and the sun dried tomatoes were a nice touch. I think our favorite part of the whole meal however was the bread and dipping oil. The oil was AMAZING - might've been the best I've ever had. great flavor and adding the Parmesan cheese was a good touch.
