My favorite pizza/pasta stop when I am in New Hope. Summer outside tables along the canal opposite the New Hope Train Station

I thought this restaurant had a character but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! The restaurant was buzzing with fruit flies!!! The paper mat for the plates were being reused. There were visible stains from the previous customers. My order : Garlic bread Spinach ravioli Caesar salad The salad was served without an accompanying Caesar dressing. I was like what?? So I called the waiter to ask for the dressing and he was like which one ? Dude, I just ordered the Caesar salad. Don't get me started with the Ravioli. The end of the ravioli was too hard to bite. Like they weren't fully cooked. The filling was good but still the ends kept bothering me. I'm damn sure the garlic bread was stale. I took a bite and I was like nope I'm not doing this. The quantities were less but I preferred leaving this place rather than getting more food read more

So... my daughter was absolutely starving. This was the first eatery we saw that didn't look packed. We walked up the steps, got to the front counter and waited a while till someone came out of the kitchen. It was an older woman walking slowly with a couple of cute little pizzas. "Sit anywhere you like." We sat at the table by the window and I got a Strawberry Daiquiri that seemed only half frozen, but nice and sweet. I couldn't taste any alcohol though. My wife and I got our salads about 10 minutes before my daughter's Lobster Ravioli with Vodka Sauce arrived, and that kind of sucked as she was just watching us eat. When it finally arrived, we tasted it and felt that the ravioli itself was good, but the vodka sauce was kind of plain, more of a cream sauce. However, it was served with some excellent toasted garlic bread that we loved. And I have to say, my Caesar Salad was very good. It had a tasty and sweet (and not overpowering) dressing. The lettuce was fresh, and the croutons were kind of big but good. I wound up finishing the ravioli for her and she got her own Caesar Salad and loved it. The fellow who seems like he could be the owner walks with a very heavy limp, and said he needs to get his knee replaced. I wish him the best. It's a peculiar old place, in business for about 50 years, and it seems like the staff is family and have been working here their whole lives. I think they could benefit from some young staff to improve the speed of service a bit, maybe fine tune some recipes... but it's got potential, even if the place is already 50 years old. The old lady really was very very sweet. The ambiance here is very nice, too... wooden rafters and tables and you can feel the age in this place. In the end, the old lady said she was so proud of my daughter for having been vegetarian since this past June that she gave her a free Canoli, which was actually very good! I think the place overall is a 3 star experience, but I like them so much that it threw my opinion into the 4 star category. We wanted to grab something to eat after getting done with the New Hope Train ride and it was just a few minute walk away. There's a Irish Pub under the small pizzeria. Maybe 7 tables tops. Good amount of menu choices for everyone to be able to find something. Host/waitress was not too welcoming but not rude at all. She warmed up a little once seated. lol There is a "train" special. Place is very clean. By the photos on the wall, it has been here for a good amount of time. They could use a little small touches to make it a little more presentable. Taking the specials from a regular paper and making them fit in the holders, having only one menu and having the menu in a little better condition, and some direction when coming in if you seat yourself or have to be seated. Small things like that would help the experience. Order a slice of pizza with onion. Didn't take too long to come out. Man alive an amazing slice of pizza! Cooked perfectly! We got mozzarella sticks and again..... cooked perfectly. Marinara sauce tasted homemade. Wasn't salty like a lot places seem to do! Breading on the mozzarella stick wasn't overly greasy. Had the perfect crunch and sting pull from the cheese!!! I can't drink with my meals and let the waitress know I would be taking a diet to go at the beginning of the order. While clearing our plates she remembered and asked if I was ready for my diet now. Impressive :) didn't have to remind her. Over all was a very pleasant experience. Of the food wasn't as good as it was would have been 2 to 3 stars. Since the food was so good definitely would recommend if you're in the area and looking to grab some a quick bite. read more

Stopped here for hot chocolate and ended up staying for dinner. We got the antipasto, lobster ravioli, eggplant parm, and chicken parm. Everything was really good besides the antipasto which I wouldn't get again. The atmosphere was great!! Service was quick and friendly, it has also had the same family ownership for 40 years! Would recommend giving it a try and want to come back for their pizza! read more

This Italian & American family restaurant is run by the Favoroso family. It's about 36 years old. It's near Triumph brewery, and downstairs is the Saluta Bistro and Bar. There's not a huge amount of space inside this casual spot, but that just means you need to lean into your fellow diners to have a private conversation - or lean back if you want to eavesdrop on someone else! My friend took a few of us here for dinner awhile back. Their Italian fare is good, solid cooking. Everything we had, from the lasagna to the sausages, was delicious. Our server (Teresa) was a pleasure and even gave us free cheesecake - I think my friends knew her, though! Stop in for a casual, tasty meal that won't break the bank. read more

The outdoor eating area is spacious enough if you need to find the nearest bush to puke into. Their bread is served and baked fresh from under the armpits of this older woman who looks very far from friendly. Their mouthwatering sauce is just that.. Water. Also, I didn't think pasta was supposed to be able to move on its own. For dessert, their tiramisu is more like tear up my ass. As far as the service... They're slow and stubborn. They handwrite their checks and always forget something to add to the bill like they forgot to add the tax on it. The best part of the experience there is finding how quick you can locate the nearest bathroom downtown as you clench your cheeks and wish that death was imminent, since your colon was already murdered by the Villa Vito marinara sauce mob. mangia tutti and rischia la tua vita. read more

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT!! This restaurant has a back patio. There were no signs telling you to wait to be seated. My girlfriend and I sat down at the nearest available table. There were only about 12 tables outside on the patio. There were at least 3 servers. We were seated for about 20 minutes and NO ONE came over to take our order. In fact, NO ONE even came over to acknowledge us being there. Even after a big motorcycle group left, which took up 3 tables, NO ONE came over to us. Their customer service is HORRIBLE. WoW! Where do I begin.. 1st thing my daughter's sprite had ants in it(more than one) The pepperoni slices she had tasted old, as she put it. The cheese ravioli tasted of freezer burn, the Cavatelli with sausage was pretty bad too. My suggestion is keep walking don't stop in. read more

If only I read the reviews... this is by far the WORST place to eat EVERRRR!! The calamari looked like frozen onion rings and tasted absolutely horrible (you can tell they were frozen), also the fries were horrible (McDonald's would've been better), the Meatball Parm literally tasted like the meatballs from Chef Boyardee Spaghetti & Meatballs but WORSE.. The Chicken Cheesesteak meat tasted like it had freezer burn.. the onion rings looked pitiful and tasted like they were also frozen (Burger King onion rings would've tasted better to be honest..).. I am not one to write bad reviews but I felt that I had to write this honest review to spare someone the agony of eating at this horrible establishment and wasting their money. Also the Chicken Cesar Salad quoted "Best Cesar Salad in New Hope" was a flat out joke.. the Walmart/Shop Rite pre-made salad would've tasted better.. DO NOT EAT HERE!! No. So sorry we went. Our first choice was the Irish Pub but they cannae allow the wee ones. So we tried the Italian place above. Bad move. It was very warm inside. And cramped. Tables are very close together. Service was ok but not great. And pricey for the portion you get. I know it's "New Hope". But $10 for a 6" hoagie that had no pizazz. It looked like something you could have made in your own kitchen. House salad was also $10. Lesson learned. Check Yelp first. read more

I felt bad for the 2 women servers. We were there on a beautiful Sunday mid afternoon and we sat on the back patio. We ordered a margarita and a banana daiquiri , Caesar salad, cheese steak and fries. I didn't read the other reviews before sitting down, so now as we waited I started reading. Sure the place could have been cleaner and the service could have been better, the woman said a lot of the other severs called off.. so I felt bad for them. My husband didn't care for the salad, there was too much dressing, but I thought the cheese steak and fries were decent. I was starving, so it hit the spot. It's a shame, the place could be a real gold mine if it was cleaned up and had more staff. read more

Very poor experience. Waited 20 minutes without any acknowledgement. Very slow waitesss service all around. Delivered pizza cold and burnt with only two plates for 4 people, asked for additional plates never received. Ordered cheese fries, arrived without cheese asked for cheese, told they had none. This place wasn't perfect but it was for us. We're both vaccinated and were looking to keep our infant daughter away from crowds on a Saturday. We were seated in the patio with such courtesy and respect, including being given a spot well away from other patrons. They were low on bar ingredients, but who cares? I was able to feed my daughter, have a drink, and listen to live music in the sun without crowds or a long wait. I didn't notice any cleanliness issues! We were attracted to the place because of the outdoor seating area and one-man band that was playing. But the whole experience was similar to what we've read here. The service: Really bad. After our pizza was brought, we had to ask for plates. They turned out be the thin/cheapest paper plates. We had to retrieve extra napkins from a table nearby. They gave us the wrong bill. When we did get our actual bill, one of the prices didn't match the price in the menu. They corrected it but said they have other menus with that price too. Something about new menus (which are all paper take-out menus). I think our server even brought a. new over to show us. We paid and left but looking at the receipt, somehow 30.75 in food came to 34.61 with tax. Basically the place is confusing and not professional. More of a back-yard Bbq feeling. We went somewhere else for dessert. The food: The pizza we ordered was okay. I thought it was good, not giant for a large pizza but it was tasty. The linguini and mussels dish was very plain. The sauce was very soupy and there wasn't much pasta in it. I was still really hungry after eating it. Quite a few of the mussels were broken shelled, meaning that they were crushed/dead before being cooked. They are really supposed to be discarded before being cooked so that you don't get sick. They didn't bring any bread to the table. I might go for a pizza but you may be shocked by the service and disappointed in the food. read more

I am pretty sure that Villa Vito's is Italian for "pee out of your butt". Literally the worst food I have ever had in my entire life (to include multiple trips to Afghanistan). First warning should of been when the waitress carried out our basket of bread in her armpit..... needles to say I did not sample the bread that night. The spinach ravioli had more flour in the dish than actual spinach. My date for the evening ordered penne in pesto, when the dish finally came out the pasta was like baby food. You could gum the pasta to break it down to eat it and it was SWIMMING in oil. When we complained about the food and terrible service the manger/owner sushed us so others would not hear or complaints. About an hour after eating this so called "food" I felt a violent and explosive chain reaction in my stomach that could only be eased with an hour of sitting on the toilet and losing all feeling in my legs out of fear of moving. Anyone who rates this place over two stars is CLEARLY a plant and needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for domestic terrorism. read more

Oh how I wish I had read the yelp reviews before coming here. my bf and i visited this restaurant after the recommendations we got from their bartender at Michael Kellys Irish Pub. BAD BAD BAD mistake! i love Italian food and im usually not super picky...but this place was just awful. 2 plates of food, some salad, sodas...came to about $40+. I don't mind paying for good food...but this was TV dinner quality at best! Actually let me take that back...I have tasted frozen TV dinners that were better than this. My BF got the meatball and pasta and i got the ravioli sampler. both of them really bad; we were so hungry that we just decided to eat some of the food and fill up on their semi-cold, hardened garlic bread. We saw the sign advertising lunch for $8.95 with soup or salad and decided to head here. Note to self: always check Yelp reviews before eating. The service was like a sitcom. We sat for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us and when someone did he was flabbergasted that we wanted menus telling us they just told me to come over and get your drink orders. The server comes over to take our orders while talking on a cell phone. In her defense it was the business phone but she's talking to them while trying to take our order. "That was 5 for 6 o'clock but you need high chairs. Yeah I can put spinach on that. No, I'm not talking to you." Another phone call comes in-this one personal. "I would leave my bf if he did that to me. Uh-huh. So you want a Sprite." The best part though was when three if us were still sitting while the others were in the bathroom. "Hey Tony give that table their check." Tony: "I did. They already paid" Girl: "Then what in hell are they still sitting there for?" Okay. Time for us to go. To be fair, it never seemed malicious or rude. We also had my young niece with me and the one server gave her a small gift which was very sweet. This was probably the worst Italian food I've ever had-so bad it makes chef boyardee look like Mario Batali. The chicken parm I had was like rubber, sauce didn't even taste like tomatoes, and I don't know what the cheese-like substance was. My wife ordered the baked ziti, and I've never seen such a small adult portion; for $8.50, it was hardly worth it. It was also bland. Beer was also extremely expensive-one bottle of flying fish summer ale (which ironically I was told was the "only winter brew we carry") was $5.50-for two bucks more you can own the whole six pack out of the store. So all in all, even if you're starving, I would skip this place in favor of anything else-even the dunkin donuts on the corner looked more appetizing and at least you know what you're getting. The server was very nice and friendly and attentive however unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired. We only stopped here because it was the closest pizzeria to the Children's Museum and I unfortunately didn't look at the Yelp reviews first. I ordered gnocchi in pesto sauce and I was brought a plate of gnocchi SWIMMING in oil (I won't even say olive oil because it didn't taste like it. It looked and tasted NOTHING like pesto sauce. It's really a shame because the place has a nice outdoor seating area. So disappointing. Live and learn. read more

This place is horrible!!! 1st, I had a burger, or should I say salt lick. Then it wasn't even cook all the way. The waitress was completely useless. I have them my card to pay and she forgot to bring if back, so I will watch my account VERY closely. I did go to my account only to find that they decided that the cash tip left wasn't enough so they added $10 as a tip! I crossed the tip line out and that didn't matter to them. So this will make me watch my account even more! To sum this place up....craptastic food, craptastic service and theft!!! Nope. Not very good Sorry - even though it's been around for-eh-ver, the food is just OK. (Italian "red sauce" fare) and the place needs an overhaul. I guess what makes it so awful for me is that a spider spun her web down onto my plate while I was eating there. There was dust and cobwebs in the windowsill and that spider just clinched it for me. Wish I had read the reviews before we sat down to eat here. We sat in the so-called "Irish pub" downstairs, which has the same menu as the main restaurant aside from a few ostensibly Irish-pub style sandwiches. I had a bad feeling almost immediately, but it was already too late. Thankfully this lead me to order something that was relatively safe (fried ravioli). I also tried the asparagus, onion, and blue cheese salad, thinking well heck. let me give them a chance. It was $6 for a salad the size of a bread plate that wasn't terrible but was certainly not worth $6. About halfway through our meal I noticed that there were some posters hanging on the ceiling above our table. It wasn't too difficult to discover that they were covering up an enormous gaping hole in the ceiling directly above the table. There are some good restaurants in New Hope... don't waste it on this place. read more

If I could give ZERO STARS I would. The service flat out sucked. The food was inedible. I couldn't even eat it. We asked for beers And had to repeatedly ask because no one would get the beer.
