I think the name has changed on this establishment to include the words "Wood Fired" and they use "WF" on their awnings. That's significant to my review. I ordered a large margarita pie to pick up after Googling for a wood fired pizza. When I picked it up, the person at the counter took the pizza out of a standard pizza oven. I asked if it was made in the wood fired oven that I could see in the other room and she said "No". I told her that I only came here because the name of the restaurant on the street sign states "Wood Fired". She replied that I didn't tell her that I wanted a wood fired pie when I ordered and that they only made medium pies in the wood oven. I realized that this discussion was going nowhere, I paid for my order and left. I'll say that the standard oven pizza was very good, but not what I came for. Regarding the ambiance, the bar and the dining room didn't look like the environment I would want to spend time in. I left a review a few years back on HG. Needless to say it's gone now‍. I don't believe the owners or management really care about the product they are putting out or their customer base. They have the great advantage of being one of maybe 3 other places that deliver in New Hope besides DoorDash & the others. This place is unethical. I have had two awful experiences and will never do business with them again. The first time I booked a reservation for 30 coaches and players for a high school football team. They had the wrong date in their reservation book when we arrived (even after we confirmed the day/time twice). They managed to accommodate us. We had a fixed menu with choice of 3 options. 2 people did not get their food for over an hour after ordering (Philly cheesesteaks) - no apology and no offer to take them off the check. One of the players had to leave without eating. This happened in the fall and it is now January so I thought I would try them again. This time I ordered 7 large plain pizzas for pick up for a group of 15 high school lacrosse players. The price on their website is $13.50 per pizza. When I was paying, the price was $18.50 per pizza. When I questioned it I was told "our prices changed". No offer to honor the website price and I was told "you can take a menu with our new pricing" and they stared at me like I was crazy. They did not care that this was their local community, they did not care that a kid left hungry, they did not care that a high school group with very little discretionary funds was overcharged. Went last night, food was honestly pretty good. We had the garlic knots and mozzarella sticks for our appetizer and they were great. We put our entrees in pretty quick and waited for our food. For our appetizers we never received plates so that we could divide and we also never received drink refills. I ordered the ravioli and when asking the server what kind of sauce came on it, she honestly seemed like she was unsure. Then the whole table received their food except I didn't receive my side salad and a member of our party didn't receive their calzone. Then we saw the server panicking as if she forgot to put that order in. That's okay, mistakes happen, however, she didn't have the decency to come and tell us and say that there was a delay. Everyone was pretty much done with their food when the last entree was received. This was incredibly disappointing because she never came and asked how the food was, gave us refills, or told us about the delay to the last entree. When we told her that we're disappointing and mentioned wanting refills, we never ended up getting them. She really did seem all over the place. I don't get pizza here often, but I have had a few times. It's been really good. The vodka sauce is really good to if you like pasta. However, I get their pizza dough a lot here, and I have tried many places all over New Hope and Lambertville and this is the most consistent and best dough there is to make your own pizza , I really recommend them. read more

I wanted to like this place. Food in new hope isn't exactly gourmet. First off the dining room is covered in security cameras. Not on the staff but on you as a diner. Everywhere you look there is a camera pointing at you. It's the strangest thing I have ever seen. Second wood fired pizza costs more than non wood fired. And the vast majority of the pizza is not wood fired. At my time there I was the only one to order one. Also the wood fired grill is in the dining room so you can see it. The rest of the tables meals came out before they even started on mine. So I had to wait a bit to get my meal while the rest of the table ate their meal. No idea why all the pizza ls are not cooked by wood? Also they serve a ton of different styles of pizza which is also kinda weird as I've never been to a place that did more than one style. We get take out most often. Soups, salads and hot sandwiches are all very good. Dine in is a little disappointing mostly due to the ambiance, or lack of it. We hadn't been to Giuseppe's in years due to several less than desirable visits in the past with poorly executed pasta dishes (hard I know) and less than stellar service. Well after four or five years we were in the area and at the very least one of the two issues has been fixed. Seating was seat yourself as it was mid-afternoon on a Saturday with only three other tables occupied in the restaurant. Even with that level of "busy" it still look quite some time for our drink order to be taken. Eventually we got that squared away and ordered. So far so good although we could have used a drink refill during the time we were waiting but of course you can't get a refill when your server does a David Copperfield until it was time for the food to come out. The food itself was better than the past with one exception. The children shared a personal pizza which was more than enough for them and it was solid. My baked penne was very good with a lot of cheese and temperature wise it was perfectly ready to eat as soon as it hit the table so A+ on that one. The lovely wife ordered vegetable lasagna yet of course they brought out regular lasagna instead. Our server was less than apologetic about either her mistake or the kitchen's mistake and while she offered to correct the mistake for the actual dish ordered, she said it would be a twenty plus minute wait. No thanks, we'll make due. I must say that the quality of the food was much better than I remembered it from years past and the prices are not crazy considering the area that you're in but the service still leaves a lot to be desired as seemingly everyone likes to hang out at the front counter and talk versus actually checking in on tables in a timely manner. We'll never be a regular here but I suppose every so often might be good enough. (Also as a tip, try not to have to make a left turn onto York Road unless you've got 10-15 minutes of free time or you like causing near homicides from just pulling out into traffic.) read more

ZERO STARS. Terrible experience. We ordered (3 subs and a calzone) and waited almost an hour...just to learn that they forgot our calzone. Next, we learned that the chicken parm we ordered came without any sauce...Ok, we called and let them know. We had to speak to several people but they finally said they would have the calzone and some marinara sauce sent out to us soon. After over 30 minutes, we were still waiting. We then called to check on the status, only to be put on hold to speak with the manager. He was extremely rude, had no idea what we were talking about (again, this was the 2nd or 3rd time explaining the issue) and would only send out a new chicken parm if we sent the first one back (apparently they recycle old, stale chicken and cheese subs). It ended with the manager hanging up on us mid sentence. Overall, the food was ok at best and the service and management were the worst I've experienced in years. DO NOT ORDER. UPDATE: After waiting another 45 minutes, we called to check on the status. I spoke with the manager(?) and demanded the food be delivered (they wanted us to pick it up)- it arrived within 20 minutes. I later saw that they charged me an additional fee for the second delivery! I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN AND WOULD SUGGEST ONE OF THE MANY OTHER PLACES IN THE AREA. ZERO STARS. read more

HG's wood fired pizza is an interesting experience. First off, the restaurant was woefully understaffed. We waited to be seated and waited 25 minutes before our drink order was taken. Only two servers seemed to be working the entire dining area, and they were also responsible for running food and bussing. HG's menu has the name "Giuseppe's" and the menu is as large as that of a Jersey diner: they serve several types of pizza, calzones/Stromboli, wings, sandwiches, appetizers, seafood and even steaks. It seems unlikely that they could stock all these ingredients freshly, but the prices for food and liquor were fair. Wewent for some wings and a wood-fired margarita especiale pizza. The wings were fine, though they were served with some brown celery and insipid blue cheese dip that was coated with a yellow film. The pizza was actually really good. The tomato sauce was fresh and chunky and the char from the wood oven gave a nice crunchy texture. The cheese was also fresh and non-greasy. Completely unsatisfied. Restaurant was empty when my family and I arrived on a Tuesday evening, 5 of us total. No one else was there and our order was taken. We ordered wings, chicken tenders, one medium pizza, one personal pizza and one wood fired pizza. After about 1/2hr, we got the chicken tenders, wings and other two pizzas. Another 15 mins goes by and my wife inquiries about the wood fired pizza and she was told they were short staffed and we would have to wait longer. As we were able to see the wood fired oven, we saw not one pizza or item was placed in the oven. As we were waiting the restaurant became busy and there was only the one waitress trying to cover en entire dining room. Finally after another 20 mins, and my wife having to wave down the waitress we got the check. Then we had to wait another 10mins to have the employee at the counter acknowledge us so we could pay, at that point a manager told her, DO NOT TAKE ORDERS FOR WOOD FIRE PIZZA, WE DON'T HAVE ANY. It's good. Then it's bad. Then it's good again. It's inconsistent. The Pasta with Rosa Vodka sauce is a good choice. When I order takeout you get the equivalent of 4 boxes of pasta. The Chicken Parmesan is also good. Thin and crispy. But it's served with 3 strands of linguine (if you choose pasta instead of a vegetable side) and it's overly wet with sauce. I've liked their Chicken Piccata and Chicken Marsala. But again, it's too saturated in sauce. You can't go wrong with the Stractiatella soup though. They have wing dings which are a thing for me. The French fries were hot and crisp. The salad was fresh and had a nice mix of ingredients.
