Incredible bakery! I could not recommend this place enough. I almost passed on it because i was looking for breakfast pastries and i couldn't tell if they had them. Luckily, they have a ton of pastry options. They were literally fresh out of the oven when i got there. Very quaint little bakery, super nice staff. You have to try this place.

My two son's Diamond and Rain are addicted to their famous Caramel Walnut fudge. The Village Bakery has the best thumb print cookie on the planet. The entire staff was very sweet, just like their cookies and fudge.

Review I never go to this side of town, and I never even knew The Village Bakery existed--but it truly is a diamond in the rough. It's a very small bakery, but the moment you walk in, you're hit with the most delicious smells. You're surrounded by freshly baked cookies everywhere, and there are old-school toys displayed in a glass case, which makes it really unique and charming. It was so hard to choose from the display case because everything looked amazing. I ended up picking three different kinds of cookies to try, and they did not disappoint--they were all delicious. If you ever find yourself out on Chapman Highway, this place is absolutely worth the stop. Definitely one of the best-kept secrets around. If you want it shorter or more casual (like for Google reviews or Facebook), I can tweak it too. read more

Best pastries in town! Yep, and in SoKno too. I was born and raised in S. Knoxville, only a mile or so from Village Bakery. Our wedding cake (1993), and my most recent b'day treat (cream horn) came from village bakery. Always busy and reminds me of a Boston Bakery. read more

Never had a bad experience or food from here! From their petite-fours to their apple stack cake- YUM!! Have tried other thumb print cookies, nothing compares to Village Bakery , join the club and get a free dozen after purchasing 12 dozen! They go so fast it is easy to do!! Wanted a cake for my Mom's 75th BD. Paid over 100$. Ordered 1/2 chocolate, 1/2 white with Buttercream icing. The icing was nothing but CRISCO & some sugar! Many commented about not liking the icing. In my opinion one of the best bakeries in Knoxville if not the best. Everything I have ever ordered has always been delicious and beautiful. All of my cakes for birthdays and special events come from village bakery. It's about 30-40 min drive from where I leave and worth every minute for there baked goods and cakes. read more

The woman who owns this use to run the Miller's Bakery downtown back in the 80's and 90's. The best place for thumbprint cookies in town!! THEY ROCK!! The wedding cookies are also good. The wedding cakes look a little cheesy like they are stuck in the 80's. Anyway, go by there and get a few dozen of her thumbprint cookies. They are SOOOO DELICIOUS! read more

I was not impressed with them at all. The overall flavor and taste of the cake was great but the appearence of the two cakes I bought looked rushed and as if they came out of my high schoolers Home Ec class. I was to pick up my cakes at 10:30 they were not ready and it took 20 minutes to get them. I'm guessing that is why they looked so bad. The frosting looked terrible, not finished and smooth but very very unprofessional. Had I not been in a hurry and if I could have went someone where else I would have. For the price I paid I expected it to at least look nice. I was ashamed of my cakes. I have pictures if you'd like to see. It was two cake and I asked for the Happy Birthday and decorations to be done. I done good to get the Happy Birthday on there. Very unhappy. I'd been better off going to Food City. read more

My family and I have been driving from West Knoxville for more years than I can remember because of their service and the thumprint cookies. Unfortunately, the hand tart had several edges that I discovered later had been burnt. This impacted the flavor of the whole item and sadly diminished it greatly. The fruit filling was tasty at least, though I didn't get much raspberry from it -- mostly blueberry. I'd be down to try again in the future, just would come earlier in the day when the selection is a bit larger and the products available are a bit more "choice," let's say. Whenever we are downtown for work, this is our stop. When you get something from the Kroger Magpie's selection, it will either be a full size cheesecake or a sampler box of cookies or bars/brownies. It is hit or miss as to how fresh the items are here. This location now refrigerates the sammies, too, which seems to dry them out quickly. Bummer. The service was superb, my ice cream sundae was sooooo yummy! Levi enjoyed his vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone. The aesthetics were super cool! There is an actual pharmacy in the space too! And you know that we love JESUS and to see a "God Loves You" postcard from @vvbcknox was extra special too! Please always be reminded that God surely does love you. The blueberry bagel is very much in line with their other not-too-sweet flavors, and when you get one of the actual blueberries, it is divine. I opted for the steak sandwich on an everything bagel and it was delicious! My father was also very impressed with the pastrami Ruben on pumpernickel. I also highly recommend grabbing some custom bagel spread from the cooler and a portion of your favorite babka (I vote for chocolate) to take home!

This one has been bookmarked for a while now as a place to try if near downtown. It does not…read moredisappoint. In short, they offer dumplings (or dim sum) items and assorted Asian entrees. The "angry" descriptor comes from some of their dumplings being spicy. But, not all of them are spicy. Either way, this is a unique spot. I found the flavors to be delicious -- particularly the angry dumplings with chicken curry. Wow. That's one that you think about for days after eating it. So good. I also really liked the mushroom rice, grandpas beef noodle, and the red bean Bao. Boba tea was well done too. Only downside is I'm so full that I am drifting into a food coma now! Overall: If you like Asian food, boba, and dim sum, this is a great option. I will definitely be back.

My wife chose this bakery to do the cake for our daughter's wedding on June 2. It was the best decision we made. We received countless comments from people at the reception at the moistness and quality of the cake. We didn't hesitate in telling them about Village Bakery. It's located in an out of the way place and it's small....but worth the search. read more

I ordered a birthday cake for my daughter from here and it was so good and the price was way better than a grocery store cake. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't order a strawberry flavored cake for pickup the next day but that was my fault for not ordering it more than a day before I needed it.
