Customer service at Village Cadillac is pathetic! I have been trying to get my new XT5 fixed correctly for months. Jennifer has provided nothing but excuses and now doesn't want to make an appointment for us to bring the car back to address an ongoing issue with the transmission. It has been 3 weeks since she said they didn't have a loaner car and would call when one was available in order for us to leave our car there. Why couldn't Jennifer just be honest and tell us it was beyond Village Cadillac's ability to fix the problem. read more

I feel compelled to write this review for Village Cadillac, Homosassa, FL. Please understand that this endorsement is based on my own personal experience buying a used 2020 Cadillac Escalade. We bought this vehicle on 26 Oct 2023. At the tender age of seventy-five, I have seen much in my dual career as an engineer and as a U.S. Army Reserve officer. I am a US Marine Corps, Viet Nam Combat veteran and a retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel. I had spent my civilian career on the road, as an automotive tooling engineer. I have logged over 1.2 million miles of travel. Most vehicles I drove were company vehicles. Others I had bought. At the start of our 55 years of marriage, my wife and I towed a vehicle from a salvage yard, because we could not afford to buy a car. We have struggled and worked hard to gather what we have! With that, we have interacted with dozens of dealerships, mostly from the Upstate NY area. We have also dealt with dealers, here in Florida. One recent (Oct 2023) in Orlando was the worst dealership experience, ever. That said and setting up a backdrop of experiences...I am here to say that we have NEVER experienced a dealer experience or an auto purchase, like we did, dealing with Village Cadillac, Homosassa, FL! NEVER! My salesperson is John DeLoach. John is an experienced, seasoned, energetic, enthusiastic, savvy salesperson and a consummate professional. He is intuitive and knows how to help prospective customers achieve their vehicle purchase. John's best trait is that he is an excellent listener. The vehicle we bought is the vehicle we were looking for and wanted. John helped us get it. The sales experience, from start to finish, was unlike anything we had ever experienced! Genuinely impressive. I can tell you that two other dealerships in Florida were exactly opposite. Purely disgusting, aggravating, loathsome and worse...adversarial. One dealership forced me to contact Florida's DMV, to settle a dispute that did not have to happen! In hind-site, we should have walked away from that deal. Lesson learned. In sharp contrast, everyone at Village Cadillac was solely responsible for an incredibly smooth, frustration free, hassle-free transaction. Here are the players; John DeLoach (Cadillac/Toyota sales), Alan Reece (Sales Mgr.), Joe Petrillo (General Mgr.), and Cheyenne Taveras (Assistant Service Mgr.). The owners and managers at Village Cadillac need to know that these specific employees share a collective ethos and constructive collaboration (synergy), that directly contributes to the dealerships' success and my total satisfaction. Each person I interacted with went well out of his or her way, to satisfy our purchase experience. Without hesitation, they did address a couple of concerns that needed attention. We were not demanding, but we were insistent. They, in turn, were cooperative and responsive. The dealership created an environment that made me feel at ease and most importantly...not challenging! Nasty people, the worst Toyota dealer in the USA. They looked for the engine in my Toyota MR2 under the hood and it is in the rear of the car. They have tried to up sale repairs every time I have been there and they have done the same to all my friends and family. Another friend bought a Prius from them and took it in for a routine oil, but they tried to cut corners by not replacing the washer on the drain nut (the crush washer is required according to Toyota). Without the washer, his brand new Prius was almost ruined. The General Manager is hateful and threatening, and the sales people are not honest. You are warned, that is all I want to do...wish I had been warned. It is worth the drive to go to another local dealer for purchases and repairs... read more

This is a difficult comment to write. I was a loyal Village Cadillac customer. I leased three Cadillac SRXs and bought a Toyota Matrix from Village Cadillac. I've leased cars for over 20 years. I bought a 2015 SRX knowing I wanted to get into a 2017 XT5 Premium Luxury with adaptive cruise and braking. It was time to turn in the 2013 SRX lease car. Due to an end of year promotion couldn't lease a 2015 SRX they were promoting to get off the lot versus leasing a 2016 SRX, So I bought the 2015 SRX after getting a letter from Joe Reth, General Manager, saying, "That I could turn in the 2015 vehicle and they would pay off my loan up to $32000". The $32000 was calculated by multiplying the loan payment by 24 months after my owing it for two years and leaving a balance of approximately $32000. They gave me this letter based on my going to lease a Cadillac XT5 Luxury Premium in December, 2017. On 10/21/17 I looked at a 2017 CT6 ($91220) and a 2018 XT5 Platinum ($65800) at Village. As they worked up a price they said "You're upside down in the loan, the book is $28000 and the loan payoff is $33000. We can't honor the payoff letter cause there's not enough in the deal for us to do that." So based on not honoring their payoff letter they worked up two deal scenarios. On the CT6 I was out of pocket $8000. plus 36 months times $374 (difference between loan of $771 and $1145 for the lease) or $13464 or $21,464 over three years. On the XT5 there was no rebate, and a trade for book at $28000, a $32997 trade payoff making the vehicle with taxes and fees $72,148. Out of pocket came to $4997 difference between book and loan payoff, no rebate and a lease for 36 months with $8000 down came to $1019 or $5328 over my $771 loan payment or a total out of pocket of $18325 over three years for a model I didn't particularly want. All this took place on Saturday !0/21/2017. On Sunday, I see the CT6, $91220 advertised in the paper with a $6528 savings and price of $84692. The price I was given with the rebate and trade-in and taxes and fees came to $88391. What the heck is going on? Why wasn't I given the $6528 savings then the $2490 for the trade-in and trade payoff? The $84692 plus the taxes and fees would have come to $85892 (using the taxes and fees from the $88391 so the $85892 might even be lower) and if we then deduct the $2490, the final price would be $83607! I called the sales person, left a message and he called back on Monday. He kept on saying he got me over $7000 in savings (I guess he meant the $35238 vs the $28000 for book but I still had to pay the trade payoff of $32998) and with the rebate of $2000 he tried to convince me that $4490 vs $6528 was a good deal. Wow, talk about smoke and mirrors. I subsequently got a call from a sales assistant to come in and see if we could get together on one of the cars. After I explained about their not honoring their payoff letter I told him that was why I bought an XT5 model I preferred from a dealer in Ocala, At first he was put off and began to question whether the other dealer fully explained everything to me especially about the loan payoff. I said they explained everything up front and then gave me a $500 dealer discount and a GM loyalty marketing discount of $1250. Something Village didn't do on the Platinum. I put $4000 down although the dealer thought I shouldn't and my lease payment for 36 months is $837 or $2376 over my current loan or an out of pocket of $6376 over the three years. The Village sales assistant tried to explain that it wasn't fair for me to expect Village Cadillac to honor a two year old payoff promise letter because cars depreciate. I said, "Selling cars is your business, we both know cars depreciate and the value of the SRX would not be the same as the payoff. But you made that promise and I expected you to live up to your word." He didn't agree, we got into a circular conversation he kept saying it isn't fair to expect to get more money for a car that was depreciated. I kept saying you didn't honor your promise, it's not my fault you made a promise to do something knowing full well the book and the payoff promise would be different. It's your business, you know this and Joe Reth knows this and he made that promise with his eyes wide open. I expected Village Cadillac to live up to their promises. For those reading this, just beware when dealing with Village Cadillac. Don't take their promises seriously because they may not honor them when the times comes for them to fulfill them. read more

The staff was great when I got my new car. A 2011 Toyota Camery but when it broke down on me, a power stearing belt issue, they were not so helpful. I had to use their rental car agency ( in which the car had not been cleaned and there was an old fast food box in the glove compartment with ketchup in it, used napkins etc--you get the picture, their tow truck company which was a 1 towing--that guy picked up my car a little after four pm. I broke down at 230 pm in the middle of the city on hwy 41. The guy on the phone acted like it was my fault. HOW!!! it is six months old it has 18,000 miles on it.....I will never go back..... not even for my 50000 services that were includes free with my car, I pay someone to not have to go back. read more
