Our first time visiting Tony's Coneys and I must say it was a wonderful delight! We are so tired of the chain ice cream shops (sorry Dairy Queen!). After spending some time out at Deer Creek today, we looked for a mom-and-pop ice cream stand. Up came Tony's Coneys. The Buckeye Blitz with the toppings is to die for! My girlfriend got the Cappuccino Crunch and while she loved hers, she couldn't stop attacking mine! Her daughter got a mixture of Superman Ice Cream and Cotton Candy. Not to mention that we also got a side of fries to try. Those were just as good. And their prices are stuck in the early 2000's! I once visited a hotdog restaurant in Sebring, OH and paid nearly $4 per hotdog. Tony's Coneys has regular dogs for $1.50!!! If you want a summer treat, go here!

Love this place! I have came to Tony Coneys since before it was Tony Coneys and it was Hills Dairy in the 90's. This place is always consistent. You can feed a family of 3 an entire meal plus dessert for under 30 bucks! Their burgers are humongous! Small dinning area and helpful servers. Always pleasant and never disappointed.

My dog has a serious addiction to Toney's Coneys. She loves going there and loves the attention the staff gives here when we use the drive through. The place is always crowded in the warmer days and the wait can be a few so you have to be patient because the food is very tasty. Nothing fancy here to see or look at as this is your old school, side of the USHighway style of Mom and Pop places that were so popular from the mid-century to now. It is a gem in the middle of nowhere and that is why we all drive there. Entire little league teams can be seen enjoying after game fare there so that is another reason to be prepared to wait. The food is worth it and the prices make you glad you waited too.

Great coneys. Great ice cream. Good prices. That is really all I had to say but there is a minimum character count.

Amazing ice cream and service. I've been going here since I was five-year-old. Lots of childhood memories were made here.

Great ice cream. My son loves it every time. Wait is a little longer but price is right. I'm so happy for this little neighborhood gem.

Good food and treats at a fair price. Always busy and sometimes takes a while to get your order but worth the stop.

Ended up here for a double smash and fries and left mostly impressed. The fries are the star of the show perfectly crispy, well seasoned, exactly what you want. The burger is solid, good crust on the patty and a nicely toasted brioche bun, but the seasoning competes a little too much with the beef rather than letting the meat shine. Slightly oily too. For a smash burger the beef should be the focus and it gets a little lost here. $19 for a double and fries is reasonable for the quality, not a steal but fair. Only real complaint beyond the burger seasoning is cans only, no fountain drinks, which feels like an oversight for a burger spot. Would come back if I was in the area.

Recently I was craving a good burger, and after hearing about a new smash burger place that opened…read moreclose to where we live, my wife and I decided to give it a try. We made the short drive to Smash Daddy's, just outside of Orient, Ohio. When we arrived, the restaurant was about half full. It's not a very big place--maybe 10 to 12 small tables--and from the outside it looks like a house that was converted into a restaurant. Don't let the size fool you, though. It's small in space but huge on flavor. Smash Daddy's is set up as counter service. You order from the menu board at the register, grab a seat, and they bring your food out when it's ready. The menu is fairly simple, which I actually like. You can build your own burger or choose from their signature burgers. They also offer grilled all-beef hot dogs with different toppings, and their only side is fair-style fresh-cut fries. I ordered the Smash Daddy Burger, which comes with two smash patties, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, pickles, and their house-made Smash Sauce on a grilled brioche bun. My wife ordered the same burger, just without the onions. I also ordered one of their grilled hot dogs because I wanted to try it. It came on a split-top Texas toast bun, and I topped it with mustard, ketchup (yes, I know... I like ketchup on my hot dogs!), relish, and chopped onions. We also shared an order of the fresh-cut fries. The fries were excellent--thin, crispy, flavorful, and the portion was easily big enough for two people to share. The hot dog had a great grilled flavor, the bun was warm and soft, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. But the real star of the meal was the smash burger. The patties had that perfect crispy edge, the grilled brioche bun was soft with just a little crunch, and every bite was packed with flavor. Everything worked together perfectly. It was also a very satisfying size--I was completely full when I finished. When we ordered, we met Teresa at the counter. She was incredibly friendly, explained the menu, offered suggestions, and never stopped moving. She was taking orders, delivering food, cleaning tables, and making sure everyone was taken care of. She mentioned they've only been open about nine months, and judging by the steady line of customers the entire time we were there, they're doing something right. They also carry frozen treats from Whit's, which is a nice bonus if you're looking for dessert. My only minor complaints are the prices. Drinks are limited to canned soda or bottled water, and a can of soda costs $2. While that's not outrageous, it does seem a little high. The burgers are also on the expensive side. My Smash Daddy Burger was $13 by itself, fries were $5, and the hot dog was $5. Our total came to about $42 for two burgers, one shared order of fries, one hot dog, and drinks. That's a little more than I expected, especially when you compare it to what you can get at a sit-down restaurant. That said, the food quality was excellent, the portions were generous, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Was it delicious? Absolutely. Will I be back? Without a doubt. Just be prepared for the prices so you don't experience a little sticker shock when you order. If you're looking for one of the best smash burgers in the area, Smash Daddy's is definitely worth checking out.
