We ordered my longtime favorite--the chocolate malt--along with a vanilla and a strawberry soft-serve in waffle cones. There is simply nothing like these cold, sweet treats on a hot summer day. After visiting and trying ice cream shops all along the East Coast during our vacation, Carl's still stands out as a true gem. The quality, tradition, and experience are every bit as special as I remembered. Thank you for continuing to create memories for generations of families. The interior is very clean, has variety of waffle cones, signature bundles, all ice creams are made in house, you can sample the flavors before ordering ànd I had great service from Justin. I order the apple pie which was mix and combine with other components. For me the flavor was there but it was on the sweeter side. I don't know if I had order it with one of the waffle cones, if it would have balanced it out. But it was nice to see Justin incorporate all of the ingredients together on a cold plate. There was a family of 4 ahead of us but as we waited, I heard how the employees interacted with them. They were genuinely kind, enthusiastic, and helpful to them. It is rare that you hear young people on the job doing a great job and being so nice. Their friendliness and enthusiasm continued when they got to me. So much so that I regretfully ordered 3 scoops that I have to spend the next week working off. The ice cream is delicious and as importantly made with real ingredients, no chemicals and crap AND made right there! It doesn't get any better. Service was outstanding and the ice cream was delicious and they give decent servings. As if all of that isn't enough, the ice cream is reasonably priced!
