I was doing a trail work project at Greenberg conservation area around the corner and stopped Here to see what they had. Obviously, they have lots of good stuff. Whether you get a delicious sandwich made with Boar's Head meat, (the best) or you looking for something to take home and make for a meal at another time., it is all good. In the store section, they have fresh cut bacon and other meats that some people might find extremely delicious. Some of the expected things like fresh produce including squash and apples are also available right now. There's also a large selection of homemade jelly, jam, and marmalade. They have two different bakery sections. One has cookies and simple baked goods, and the other has things like mini cheesecakes and eclairs. Inside the store, they also have their own wine. Lots of different flavors. I did not grab any of that today, but that will be interesting for a different day. Visiting from Texas Cute place to pick up a few unique Massachusetts souvenirs. I was able to pick up fresh maple syrup and maple sugar candy. The cookies they had were made fresh and tasted delicious. I think you can also go apple picking here but I'm not 100% sure. read more

What a quintessential New England farm & country store! Everything one looks forward to in the fall like apple picking, loads of gourds and pumpkins of all shapes, fall flowers, mums, bales of hay etc. This place is a labyrinth of gourmet foods, their own cured meats, thick cut bacon, sausages. And the produce was fresh in such abundance that some things are offered in massive crates! Bakery on premises showcasing pies, cookies, muffins, & breads. Local honey, maple syrup, jams etc. They also serve hot food too. We really enjoyed our leisurely tour and purchased fresh apple cider, apples, bacon & jam. I noticed this place while driving by and stopped for breakfast and I'm so glad I did. While they have a limited breakfast/lunch menu due to staffing shortages, I was still able to order a warm breakfast sandwich - it was delicious! Staff is super friendly and plenty of space to sit down. After eating, I explored a bit and this place is huge. The country store in the back has everything you need from meats, cheeses, bread, dairy, etc. They even sell craft beer, ciders and wine. What really caught my eye was a bottle of sangria ready to go. The pastries they have on display look amazing too! Next time I'm around, this will certainly be a place I visit again. read more

They fly a Blue American flag outside their establishment. It is pretty obvious when you go inside that all the locals congregate in one section and really seem to dislike any other person sharing their space, probably especially people of color or of differing political persuasions. The food is barely adequate, with sausage being their main success, otherwise mediocre food, mediocre service and An unwelcoming atmosphere. Of special note their posters with the pledge of allegiance and a strange odd shrine or devotional to missing in action. read more

I came here frequently for breakfast in 1988-1991, when I lived in Northampton. Since then I've lived all over the world. I didn't return until 2017. I'm happy to report that this place is still brimming with wholesome New England charm and the same tasty generous breakfast I enjoyed decades ago. What an awful place! It used to be great to visit, especially when they had a lovable dog that used to sit with diners. Now the atmosphere has totally changed. We waited 20 minutes or longer for our sandwiches, which never came. There were no other customers at the time. The kitchen cook yelled at the woman taking our orders when tasked with making a "salad" for us, and we ended up having to leave due to how abusive the atmosphere had become. We were so excited to find this place on a recent camping trip. We ended up shopping for home with lots of meats etc. Then we had to get breakfast sandwiches made with the in house meats. Bacon and sausage were excellent! The prices were also very surprisingly low compared to what we see on Cape Cod. We will stop whenever in area again. read more

I was underwhelmed. Since this is a pig farm I was expecting the pork to be amazing, but the breakfast sausage stuffed into my pretty tasteless and falling-apart breakfast burrito was....pretty tasteless. My friend's eggs were okay, and the cornbread was pretty tasty but dry. The prices were cheap enough, but there just wasn't anything that special about the place. Nothing horribly wrong, but not much right. I bought some pork steaks to take home and grill. Maybe I just don't get pork, but those seemed pretty flavorless too. The only upside is that it's in a scenic area with some interesting, old houses. read more

Excellent find! This store is so cool. I ordered a hot sandwich to go off their sandwich menu, The Muppet (ham, bacon, cheese, a delicious sauce). It came with two pickle coins and chips. The sandwich was great, a bit greasy, but really delicious. My coworkers ordered different sandwiches and seemed to enjoy theirs as well. They have hot and cold sandwiches, with their own combos or a make-your-own option. There appeared to be a sit-down breakfast menu to order from as well. They have fresh baked goods too, my mini moon pie was delicious, like a chocolate donut with strawberry frosting in the middle. They also have a deli and produce section with so many choices. The interior is open and not cluttered at all, tables have jars of fresh flowers. Staff was friendly. There is an old dog who roams around too. Such a hidden gem! read more

Answer: Outlook Farm I don't eat pork. If I did, this is where I'd hunker down to get me some bacon. Outlook has been raising all natural, hormone and additive-free pigs since 1962. I'm going to do a follow-up to this review as soon as I get my husband's opinion on the pork (he'll have to taste-test for me), but there's plenty else to comment on: The retail store also has a cafe where you can get a decent breakfast or lunch with or without pork products. Every time I've been here, there have been at least 3 farmer-type looking guys hanging around with their well-worn John Deere caps on (without irony, nonetheless!), talking about whatever. The view from the store is beautiful - it sits on top of a hill where you can take in so much of the Pioneer Valley. When they're in season, you can pick your own apples at the farm, and, yes, if you're nice, they'll let you use the bathroom even if you haven't purchased something (pee break spots on 66 are important to know about!). This makes a quaint destination spot while driving along Route 66 and, if you like pork, this is a total valhalla spot for the bacon-hearted. read more

I was visiting my dad and we stopped by this store so I could check it out. There's a small meat and produce section and also a small area with grocery staples such as flour, oil, etc. The meat (chicken, steak, pork, sausage) and fruit/veggies looked pretty fresh. I'm rather new to the Western MA food scene, as I have family who recently moved to the area. One of the great things about Western MA is there are a number of really good, locally-based food options. Outlook Farm is one of those. The country store sells a variety of items, as it functions as a local grocer. During the fall there are pumpkins, and you can go apple-picking ($25, but you can get a ton of apples). The restaurant inside serves both breakfast and lunch, and there are apparently Sunday barbecues. I thought the lunch options were solid. Pork roast on multi-grain bread, with apple sauce, was a very nice fall meal. My wife got the pulled pork, and it was excellent: tender, with a very sweet barbecue sauce. The potato and leek soup was thick and mild, and nice accompaniment for the sandwiches. Overall, a nice option if you are in the area. read more

Best breakfast sandwiches in the valley bar none! I love to get a tomato herb bagel with egg, cheese, and a slice of fresh tomato, and somehow Outlook makes that taste like nirvana. Of course you could also get some of their house made bacon, sausage, or canadian bacon for a more carnivorous experience, all are pretty tasty. The real fun of this place is you can go in and order your breakfast sandwich to go and while you wait grab a cup of Fogbuster and browse the various local products available for sale. I usually do a good chunk of my grocery shopping while waiting for my sandwich. There is also a wide selection of baked goods and from what I have tasted theses are worth the carbs and calories. Their cider doughnuts could compete with any others from the valley and their ready to go pies will impress holiday guests. After this weekend, I feel like I need to write a review. I've grown up in Easthampton all my life and loved going to Outlook to pick apples in the late summer/early fall with my family and friends. You really can't beat apple picking for something to do on a weekend morning. I discovered their sausage about 6 years ago. Buddy of mine got some of their "Xtra-Hot" Sausage from a friend and grilled it up and I was blown away. 99% of local sausages in our area claim to be hot, but wind up tasting like any other "hot italian sausage". Outlooks sausages will bring joyous tears to your eyes. My wife and stepdaughter love when i cook them in cast iron in the kitchen (LOL) because I always wind up hearing a repeated chorus of coughing coming from the next room. They bring it. And the meat quality is legitimate. I got into smoking this spring and have had terrible luck doing pulled pork. Always came out tough/subpar tasting. I was buying cryo-vac'd pork shoulders and butts from chain supermarkets and just couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I tried every temp from low and slow to hot and fast, and literally every type of hardwood I could get my hands on. This past Sunday, I wanted something to smoke and knowing that Outlook opens at 6am or something like that (THANK YOU), I dropped by to grab some sausages and decided to risk it on another pork shoulder cook. Got a rolled pork shoulder with a nice fat cap and proceeded with my cook. Everything changed. I used hickory and mesquite (while I usually use apple or cherry for pork) and this shoulder was absolutely incredible. I did a 12 hour cook at 225-245 roughly and I gotta say, all my problems from before were cast out the window. The money muscle was probably the best I've ever had, and I'm that type of hobby cook that self deprecates every single thing I cook and rarely eat what I make. But I couldn't stop eating. This is proof positive to me that the quality of the MEAT far supercedes the quality of the cook or how your prepare it in some cases. I won't be buying my pork from anywhere besides Outlook ever again. Period. Bravo, folks. Keep it up. It's much appreciated. read more

I used to really like Outlook. I live right down the street and I go there often for breakfast. But recently the service there has been awful. There's a short bitter woman working at the front desk that always lets it show how much she hates her job. She's extremely rude. Three times this month I've been there for breakfast and my food has taken up to 45 minutes. My dad, who's a vegetarian, was with me one of these times and he made sure to let them know he did not want sausage in his breakfast burrito. We waited 45 minutes for our food in an empty restaurant. When we got home the burrito had sausage. The past few times I've been there I have been extremely disappointed. I hope upper management does something about their staff. They are rude and careless. I can honestly say I will not be going back to outlook farm. read more

My bacon was black and from 3 days ago, pancake was overcooked on the outside and batter inside and the "homefries" were uncooked potatoes dipped in Wesson oil with no other flavour. I came for breakfast from doing a search of restaurants in the area. I should have waited for lunch because I'm from the south and I LOVE pulled pork. Anyway, I was so excited to see they had biscuits and gravy! But for some reason new Englanders like to put onion in their sausage gravy. No good. So I went with the pancakes and eggs. I found this through a Massachusetts leaf-peeping website and was oh-so-glad I did! It was the ideal place for lunch, although I wish I'd had breakfast there. A cross between a diner and country store, it's not fancy in appearance, but has grade-A food and local meat and produce. On advice of another Yelper, I had the Muppet sandwich, sans Provolone, and it was an experience that needs to be repeated. Wow! For dessert, I took a slice of pecan pie. I highly recommend it. Okay, I don't mean to gush, but I feel like breaking into a show tune over this place. "I never knew bacon/ could taste like this!" Bacon, generally, is a fat and salt delivery system, but this stuff - fresh killed on the farm, which is either impressive or depressing, depending on your food politics - was like magic sparkles in pork form. They offer a LOT of other stuff, from typical country store novelties (brown bread in a can, anyone?) to PYO apples to ice cream, but the breakfast is what's worth writing home about. read more

Wow!!! This place is amazing! I stayed in the area for the weekend for my sisters graduation and I made 2 different stops at the outlook farm store. The first time I grabbed two delicious sandwiches and a honey apple cider and an ipa. The sandwiches were perfect, I had the BLT on sourdough and my sister had the Reuben. The Blt was perfect and the bacon, which was from the farm, was some of the best I ever had! I also really enjoyed the cider, it was just the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I had to come back for more delicious sandwiches and beers! I ended up leaving with a loaf of the cheddar bacon bread, some apple cider vinegar, and some more sandwiches! The staff was courteous and polite at both visits, and the wait for the sandwiches was quick and efficient. I would reccommend this farm store to anyone in the area, I will go out of my way to stop there next time i'm around! read more
