Kristina D is a wonderful server! Part of serving others is anticipating their needs before they even know to ask and she is excellent. When she wasn't waiting on us, I saw her constantly working and taking care of everyone else. She also remembered all the details of whatever we requested and responded very quickly. I have been coming to this Village Inn for over 10 years and my latest visit was this past Saturday with my family. My parents are regulars here so they know most people by name and we were actually served by one of their favorite servers. The prices are generally pretty good for a sit-down restaurant and the service is always great. The dining room was nicely clean and everything looked fine. We all ordered and the food came out pretty quick, in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the Strawberry Banana Supreme French Toast and it was pretty good. I could have used the French Toast a little bit more crispy, but that didn't matter much. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. All in all, everything went great, as it usually does at this location, and I will definitely be coming back for more French Toast and Crepes! read more

Village Inn has a decent breakfast menu. I love going there to get crepes, their ham and cheese skillet, and their V.I.B. Their V.I.B. allows a person to choose 4-5 different items to build your own breakfast. Portions are suitable for the price and the place is always fairly clean. We've never had to wait to be seated or waited long for food. For an avid coffee drinker or someone who likes medium to strong coffee, I would say to bring your own or drink tea. Unequivocally the worst breakfast I've ever paid for. My roomate and I walked in for a last minute breakfast this morning to be greeted with a 10 minute wait time (which wound up being closer to 15 minutes) when half of the restaurants seating was visible empty and prepared. We were finally seated and met somewhat quickly (surprisingly) by a server. I ordered a 2-2-2 breakfast: two pancakes two fried eggs and two sausages with an iced coffee. My roomie ordered a waffle, toast and jam, and an order of fries. My coffee was ridiculously watered down and simultaneously bitter AND bland somehow (and I like Black Coffee!) My eggs were the biggest disappointment of the whole meal. They were like discs of jello and tasted only slightly like filthy griddle. My hotcakes and sausage was tolerable, but the are minimum for a place meant to be somewhat famous for their breakfasts. If you told me they were frozen Eggos and Jimmy Deans respectively purchased from the HiVee across the street that morning, I would've believed you. My roommate complained of undercooked fries that were still akin to raw potato in the center but said everything else was fine. On top of terrible food, our waitress was a jerk I made some passing comment right before she dropped of ketchup and hot sauce at our table about how so far I prefer Ihop which she must've heard. as she picked up our signed receipts after we ate she snidely told us "enjoy you're Ihop" Enjoy my Ihop I will, as I'll never eat at a Village Inn again. read more

Three stars due to an obnoxious staff member. We stopped in for breakfast Sunday morning before church. Our food and service was great however a staff member stood loudly discussing her disdain for co-workers and even at one point saying she needed to start punching them. She stood directly at the south end of the west partition wall speaking directly into my wife's ear and right at me as she ranted on. At no point did I see this woman do any work whatsoever herself. Not to say her boots and ankles weren't being put to the test of their limits as I thought her ankle would completely finish rolling out from under her at any moment dropping her in her black and white plaid dome tent skirt to the ground. People with her attitude and unawareness of their surroundings when speaking have no business being in the presence of customers. In the end this rude obnoxious individual did wish me a great rest of the day as we left to which my reply was correct, it only got better. Not one time throughout the rest of my day at church or shopping around the city did I come across an employee of individual berating others or being as obnoxious. I have always had a good experience with the food and the service at this establishment. But the other night when I visited last I had a very strange encounter with the employees. This actually took place in the parking lot of the establishment. I had originally pulled my car to the front of the building and then decided to pull around to the back of the parking lot so I could wait for my friend to go eat. After sitting in my car for a while I noticed two of the employees walk up to my car, look at it and then go back inside. About two minutes later I see probably 5 employees come out of the back door looking over at my car. They then walked up to my window which I then rolled down. One of the girls then spoke up and said "we are the employees that work here, we saw you pull up to the front and then pull around to the back" "we were wondering what you were doing". Very confused I said I'm just waiting for my friend. After hearing this the girl says ok and all 5 of the employees go back into the establishment. After going back inside some of the employees then began to stare at me through one of the side windows of the building. Very very very strange! I then went inside with my friend and the service was fine so I really don't know what all that was about. I was just really confused and very weirded out. I will say that I was not expecting a lot from here as I have purposely avoided Village Inn for the past few years. However, today was a very pleasant surprise. The staff at this location was very pleasant and polite. I had the Philly Jack Benedict and I do have to say that it was one of the best breakfasts I have had in a restaurant in a long time. The coffee was good, the hash browns were good, everything was pretty darn good. The only thing I have to say is that it could have been a little cleaner, but it wasn't that bad. This place is like night and day sometimes. Came in on Friday for dinner had the chicken fried steak meal with gravy only on the potatoes. Well waiting for almost 30 min for food with only 10 customers our food came. They put gravy on the chicken fried steak but must of noticed wasn't supposed to so flipped it over like I wouldn't notice. But I do recommend coming on the weekends the breakfast is always good. We enjoyed our meal here. Our waitress was good and helpful. She took our order quickly and was good getting food to my children who were having Snickers- bar moments after traveling in the car all day. The food was hot and tasty. I had the chicken fried chicken and my food was not too salty or heavy with a fatty taste. I like that the broccoli was simply steamed and not loaded with excess fat.
