This location has improved immensely within the last year or so. As someone who lives nearby, I've frequented a few times. They were notorious for closing early and providing ehhh type food. That seems to no longer be a problem. The last time I visited the food was fresh, drive thru was quick and service was friendly. When we walked in he was cleaning the restaurant immediately after patrons had left to sanitize and greeted us with a smile. He checked on us multiple times during our meal and brought our food to us at a fast food restaurant! I just love me some Raising Cane's. Why are you even reading this and not just eating here? So it did take me a bit to come around to this joint. Fast food chicken? Seemed sketch to me. But I finally gave it a try. And I promptly fell in love. Get yourself one of the chicken finger boxes. It's delightful. Cole slaw, garlic bread, crinkle fries, chicken strips, and sauce. It's super filling! And you get a drink with it too. Their lemonade and sweet tea are both delightful. Do yourself a favor and ask for a half lemonade half sweet tea. It's perfection. While you're at it, be sure to get extra sauce. Like extra extra. That sauce is like crack. It's so addictive. And it's legit good on everything. Not gonna lie, I do indeed lick those sauce cups clean. The chicken is amazing. It's perfectly cooked and tasty. The fries are always perfect. I don't know how they do it. But it's fast and yum. This new Raising Cane took the place of a bulldozed Stand alone Godfather's Pizza joint and opened within the month. was greeted right away by an enthusiastic cashier who suggested that I try the Box Combo that has four Chicken Tenders with Cane's Sauce, Fries, Cole Slaw, Texas Toast, and a 22 oz drink (fresh Lemonade was $.30 extra). They took my name and in about 5 minutes my name was called (a little hard to hear since the top 40 music was playing and the back crew was real loud - 1/2 star for that). The Tenders were lightly breaded and very moist, and went well with the mayonnaise/mustard sauce. The Texas Toast and Cole Slaw was average as well as the Fries, but for what they lack the Tenders make up. At 4:00 in the afternoon there were three other tables of school kids in conversations. they have a nice porch to the east which looks like it will be a happening place next Spring. I have never understood what the hype about canes is. I went one other time years ago, and I was not impressed. I recently went again because someone I was with wanted to go, and I figured, why not! The chicken is no different than anywhere else, and this may be the unpopular opinion, but I think their "Canes Sauce" is disgusting. The only dipping options they have are canes sauce, ketchup or hot sauce. I'm a ranch person and that's honestly the sole reason I do not go to canes or like canes. I will admit I LOVED the bread that comes with the meal. I would go there and just order that, but otherwise I could get the same meal anywhere else, with ranch! Like anyone else, I think the fries & toast are to die for. While I understand they (obviously) don't cater to vegetarians, I think it's ridiculous that I can't get the chicken strips from the combo meals placed in a separate container. I asked for no chicken at all on one occasion, despite paying for said chicken, and I've tried asking for it to be separated on every other occasion. Service is typically very nice, and as someone who works in a restaurant I understand when it's busy, it can be hard to remember certain things. That being said, i didn't receive my drink, or extra sauce (which I paid for both). It's either an organization issue or a short staffing issue. If it is a short-staffing issue, resulting in an uneven work load falling on the shoulders of the young employees who are present, that's a management issue. As far as fast food chicken goes words fail to describe this place. I had never eaten at Canes before and didn't know what to expect besides well, chicken. I walked in to a packed restaurant. I can say with a little shame I've eaten a lot of fast food in my life, but never have I waited for a table to open at one before. It took almost 10 min to have a open table to eat. I was aware that it was a very limited menu, so my assumption was, if you do one thing, you do it well. The chicken was nice and tender, but the breading was less than wow. The fries were limp. The fat piece of Texas toast was tasty, I just didn't understand how toast fit into this meal? I give chain restaurants one chance to earn my repeat business and 3 stars doesn't do it. Cane's is open from 10:00am to 9:00pm monday through saturday. On sunday it is open from 12:00pm to 6:00pm. It is located in West Omaha. They do not have delivery but they do have take out. They also will cater for events. There is no need to wear anything fancy, because their attire is casual. I went to this restaurant with my cousins from Texas and North Dakota. There were nine of us. The staff handled the large group really well. They were always polite, and did a fantastic job putting up with the little kids. The food tasted good great and came relatively fast. The most I can eat is about four chicken strips, but there is always options to get more or less. Cane's was clean and overall had a good atmosphere. I would recommend this place to most people especially if traveling in larger groups. Not many people don't like chicken trips. So, Cane's is appealing to a wide range of people. Kids are often picky people. They can't complain about this place if the only thing on the menu is the only thing they will eat, in some cases. The chicken, fries and toast, were nasty and cold. I was there at 9pm on a Tuesday night. I was the only person in the drive thru. It seriously looked like they pulled it out if the trash. I would not have served this cap to the homeless! The pop was overfilled with ice, not enough sauce in the cup and the coleslaw which I tried to substitute for another toast was dry and didn't receive the other toast as requested which would have been cold and nasty like the first piece. Im not really a fan of this place but we choose to come here to try it "one more time" to see if it was just an off day. Plus my son loves chicken tenders and he was excited to try. They were somewhat busy but not overweeningly for just opening up. First thing I noticed was how loud the music was, and not hey this is fun loud,, but bar loud where you probably cant hear anything that someone is saying when you dine in. Lucky for me I was getting it to go. Two 3 piece with bread and fries and a kids meal $20 bucks or so I headed home. The tenders didnt have much flavor and I had to use the special dipping sauce to make it worth it ( without the sauce I would of giving it a 1 star ) . fries were nothing special but the high light of the meal was the garlic bread,, which frankly is just plain sad. Tea was good though. My 8 year old has a thumbs up rating scale and he gave it two thumbs,, one sideways one down,, which to him means,,that he didnt really like it but could tolerate it.
