Despite the next view this place a chance as I wanted to grab some pizza for a quick dinner. The place is definitely gated. It needs a refresh. It could actually use a good dusting as it was a cobweb across the back fire door stretching to the ceiling. Pizza selections or unique with lots of vegetables and meats all mixed together. It was less than one pie that was cheese of pepperoni. The crust was cracker like. It wasn't a bad pizza just wasn't a great pizza. Salad bar was pretty standard. The soups were chicken, dumpling, or beef vegetable. I got the beef vegetable and it was OK. It seems to be something wrong with the soda machine as I first tried Cheerwine and then Mr Pubb. Both seemed like the mix of syrup too carbonated water was off. The car seemed fine, but they both tasted very watery. Probably the highlight where the dessert pizzas that they brought out. Pizza on buffet is not hot actually the burner is barely warm. The carpet on that floor is absolutely nasty. The condiments sitting on tables are sticky and don't seem to be wiped down daily. hate to see this restaurant continue to deteriorate. visited on a Wednesday about 6pm. half the tables were covered with dirty dishes and glassware. the restaurant is getting kinda shabby and all the dirty tables didn't help. the one positive is the salad bar. My favorite restaurant in Salisbury! Just like their sister location up the road in Mooresville, this Village Inn excels at their unique variety of pizza. Their crust is thin and light, but still sturdy enough to hold all your toppings. Crisp on the bottom, soft inside, it's truly wonderful. While you can get a single pizza as a carry out order the buffet is where its at. Any given hour there are eight or so different pizzas up on the line, but they're never sitting long enough to get cold. They usually get eaten pretty quickly, especially around lunch time, but there is always an eagle eyed employee keeping track of whats out there and communicating with the kitchen. During the day they are nearly constantly making fresh pies of all varieties. Something you want and don't see it out there? Just ask! They will be happy to make a specific type of pizza for you and have it out in a flash. They cut the slices on the small side so you can try out more options, or maybe just feel better about how many you've had! This place isn't fancy, isn't modern, it's just really yummy! The staff is polite and the food is delicious. They do one thing here and they do it very, very well. Absolutely worth a visit. read more

Kid friendly & my sister has good experiences with the staff; maybe it's a bit unfair to talk about service with my sister around since she's Little Miss Social Butterfly & brings out the friendly side of everyone. I wish I'd had room to try the pudding but I didn't. I'm not sure if they'll make a certain type of pizza for you if you ask but you will get your standard plain cheese & pepperoni. Me and my husband came to this location expecting a nice hometown pizza buffet, we were not expecting the best pizza straight out of Italy however what we received was rather disappointing. I would like to first off state the staff was very nice, and accommodating. However, when arriving there were no pizzas that were even slightly warm, when receiving hot pizzas they were decent, not too greasy, however the crust was slightly cardboard-y the biggest issue had was when my husband waited 15 minutes for a desert pizza (which is perfectly fine, we would rather have a cooked pizza than one that's undercooked), that was slimy, and overall sickening. Well that was disappointing. We have not been here in many years. We walk in and it is a buffet only style now. Which I did not know as co-workers have order pizza from here during the work week. So the pizza was cold and sparsely covered in toppings. The salad bar looked good, but man looks are deceiving. This is my family's favorite pizza place. The salad bar is always well stocked with fresh veggies and toppings. Someone is always wiping down the counters at the buffet. It is spotless and clean. The pizza is delicious and we love the garlic bread. My dad loves the spaghetti. The Watergate salad is amazing. The staff is friendly too. Like the fact Thursday night is ladies night. Therefore, the buffet is discounted. Good selection on the line & salad bar has plenty to choose from. Spaghetti is good. Soup & chili are decent. Have only gotten pizza to go... Once at a friends house, once my husband bought one home. The tice experiences were about 18 months part. Pizza was consistent. It isn't bad, tasty as a matter of fact. The crust is very very thin. Usually I eat one slice, maybe one and a half slices and am satisfied and full but this pizza, I think I ate 3 slices... So thin. Crust really doesn't have a lot of flavor, but sauce is good, not too sweet. Plenty of cheese and toppings. What put this pizza down to a 2 for me instead of a 3 was the price. Upa large pie is usually two meals for my husband and, he eats lefts or breakfast and I usually have some for lunch, but there was barely enough leftover for him to have for breakfast. This pizza also cost more than the other places in town, like Romano's or Il Colesso. I won't get pizza from here again, not because it's horrible but because of the combination of the too thin for me crust and the price. read more

I only give it 4 stars rather than 5 because the beer selection sub par.... Only domestic beers and zero craft brews.
