Cassie and Madison ordering breakfast
Arren S.

Stopping in at Village Inn is always a family treat. As we arrive you can see that is a popular choice amongst the locals of a Virginia, MN. As you walk in you are immediately greeted by the staff. No wait this time thankfully. As you look around the restaurant it is made as a classic, all American restaurant. It's bright, well designed, and family friendly. The hardest part about Village Inn is deciding what to eat...."should I do the eggs Benedict, should I do an ultimate skillet with Two bacon strips, two sausage links, diced ham, mushrooms, green peppers, onions, tomatoes and melted cheeses?" I went with the country fried steak and eggs with a side of hot coffee. My son, Liam, went with a cheeseburger with fries with all the fixings, my daughter, Madison, ordered a Belgian Waffle with eggs and bacon from the kids menu, my fiancé, Cassie, ordered the turkey avocado bacon on wheat bread with a side salad. From my side, the fried steak and gravy was absolutely delicious, the 3 eggs that came with it were made to buttery perfection, Madison loved everything but mentioned the waffle was really dry so we drenched it in syrup haha, Liam loved his burgers and fries, Cassie mentioned that her turkey was really dry as well but she's not one to make a big stink over fry turkey . Over all we were very happy the food. Our server, Mya, was absolutely wonderful. She greeted our table and made sure to get our drinks right away. When she came back, we all knew exactly what we wanted. She gave great service with a smile. I can honestly say we were full and satisfied. Can't wait to come back! French toast

Took too damn long. We saw people be seated, eat, and leave before we even got our food. I get that its a Saturday morning (11 ish) but the order they gave customers their food was fucked. The food was like any other breakfast diner, but the biscuit was burnt as u can see in the picture . But shouldve been top tier for the amount of time we waited. Our "waiter" was john btw , despite us being the real "waiters". Will NOT be returning

Got to enjoy Betty's pies again as an adult and I gotta say it was better than I remembered. So…read moremany delicious options to choose from and enjoy! I had the chocolate cream pie and we all shared the Reese's! Delicious . The table favorite was the banana cream chocolate. So good! Food was good too.

We had a much longer wait for pie at Betty's, and were lucky to get a parking place at all. It was mobby, and it wasn't even the weekend! There was about a 10 minute wait to order at the outdoor window, and a 15-20 wait for our slices. Most of the people ahead of us seemed to be getting pie shakes. In addition to the apple pie slice, we bought a toffee cream one. We ate it soon after our visit. It was delicious. The pale crust reminded me of shortbread, the filling light, sweet, and creamy, with what seemed to be Heath bits throughout. It was great and surprisingly not filling at all. As for the apple pie comparison, Betty's version was more cohesive a crust and easier to eat, but it was also surprisingly bland. The thicker crust at the edge was dry, too. The fillings from both bakeries were quite close, both good. From Betty's, we liked the cream pie slice much more than the apple. For classic double-crust apple, Rustic was best between the two.

My son and I were visiting Duluth this past weekend and had breakfast at Duluth Grill, Sunday,…read more5/31. We had checked reviews and saw there were some reviews indicating this restaurant was not as good as it used to be. We decided to see for ourselves as the menu, other positive reviews sounded like it was an incredibly good place to go. It is. It was. It was busy, being a Sunday morning especially, but the staff was handling it all well from our perspective . I used to manage restaurants a long time ago and was impressed with the flow. Our waitress, Natalie, was delightful, knew the menu well to describe and answer questions, and we were not wanting for anything. She checked on us, always grinning and managing the iace well. I had the banana bread pancakes. A perfect choice ! They came and looked like a picture stacked up and flowing down with Carmel, maple bourbon syrup, marzcapone cream and nuts. So delicious. I took half home and enjoyed the rest later. Heated up perfectly with a 20 second zap in micro. My son had the corn beef hash skillet and said his was just as good as mine. We both agreed that we had no idea why reviews were negative, especially going on a busy morning. We will be going back every time we visit. I recommend you do too.

We love the Duluth Grill. I still miss the old, bigger menu…read more My husband always orders a more traditional breakfast and he really liked it. Today I went for the Blueberry Yum Yum which is a chicken sandwich with blueberry compote and jalapenos. They make their own compote and are almost out so hurry while you can to try this item. Very good and very messy but the combo worked surprisingly well. Don't miss the hashbrowns as they are truly excellent. And the Local tea is always a favorite with honey and lemon. Free parking. Cynthia S. did a great job serving us today.
