Nestled in the heart of Glen Elyn, Village Links offers a great place to hit the tees at a well maintained course. They offer both a 9 and 18 hole course which is challenging and fun whichever you choose. They also have a driving range to practice your swings prior to hitting the course. I like the fact that they have a separate areas for chipping and putting. The course has a great drainage system that is manufactured by Toro and it's always well maintained. You can get a discount on tee time if you are either a resident or you sign up for their membership pass. After 4 visits, you already recoup the price you paid for the pass. read more

This is such a nice course ! It is so well taken cared for , and has a good mix of challenging and doable holes . The staff is so kind and gave a great rundown of the course before we started . We enjoyed lunch at the restaurant afterwards and enjoyed our food and drinks . Their specials menu has great options and it was all delicious . I recommend ! read more

Tremendous facility, both courses are excellent. I typically play the 9 hole course but yesterday we played the 18 and enjoyed the step up competitively. Our foursome stayed for drinks and dinner at Reserve 22 and the food and service by Tabatha was also great. From the Pro Shop to the restaurant staff, they all are very pleasant and attentive to your needs. I can't wait to play here again and would highly recommend the Village Links as your go to venue for golf, food and refreshments! read more

You can't beat this public golf course. Village Links dominates any western suburbs public course! Prices are reasonable, and the place is well maintained. The fairways are really nice on the 9 hole course, and the 18 hole course is even better! You won't find a lot of short stubby holes- be sure to bring your good driver for the challenging 5 par holes. The clubhouse and restaurant also have a really cool feel. On summer nights, you will find a good crowd of nice folks chilling on the porch by the outdoor fireplaces. Inside, they sometimes have live music! It's a great place to relax after a game. A GOLFER MUST READ!! Played 7/9/19 for the first and last time. Started out with a buddy booking and afternoon weekday round. He thought the cost was 57 bucks, but you have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of web page to see that they also charge a RIDICULOUS amount for a cart fee! 20 bucks a guy! No wonder most golfers were walking. Amazed at how well the staff played dumb on that one. This is why they offer a half price cart fee if you come back within the week. To the course...AWFUL condition for this time of the year! Rough shoddily cut, beach sand bunkers not even close to maintained or raked daily, burnt areas, and greens sub par. And please don't blame it on the weather. I play 2-3 times a week everywhere and this course is by far the most poorly maintained. The cherry on top....a bunch of young kids just jumping from hole to hole, literally laying in the fairway, and running across the greens. Apparently my 77 buck weekday afternoon round doesn't cover a course ranger?! Informed the golf shop of my experience after the round and all I got was a dumb stare and an "oh, I'm sorry?" Golfers, if you want to play golf at a good course, skip this one for sure!! For 77 bucks, EVERY course in the chicago suburbs is better than this disappointment!!! This is my go-to place for golf. My friend, who I usually play with, won't go anywhere else. Holes are beautifully laid out, well designed and with a good number of bunkers to challenge any level of play. Staff is friendly enough though pro shop is a little pricey. All the same, last time we were out there my buddy was delighted after buying a $450 driver for $200, looks like they were clearing stock. Twenty-seven holes though I always play nine. For the 2017 season, weekend greens fees for 9 holes are only $25. Pull carts are $4, gas powered golf carts $14. Very competitive prices for a course of this quality. Some of the holes are a real joy to play. I especially like #2, a par five dog leg where teeing off you must go over a small stream (a ball magnet). #6, #7 and #9 are great holes too. Two par threes. #4, a par three is heavily bunkered as is #7. Fairways are comparatively wide and I have no issues with the greens though a few other reviewers have criticized their upkeep. Play usually moves along well. About three and a half hours for 9 holes. Best driving range in the area. No rubber mats. You tee yourself up on grass and they have a system of moving teeing areas back and forth for the turf to recover from divots. Get the $10 large bucket of balls, by far the best value. Split it with your golf partner if you don't want to hit the entire bucket. Not too long ago they upgraded their restaurant which is now called Reserve 22. Extensive selection of beers. Excellent menu for a golf course. It's even nicer than Cantigny's restaurant. Very elegant and nice place to eat and relax at the bar after playing. Deservedly a lot of people rave about Cantigny, but for a public course at this price this is also stunning. A wonderful addition to the Glen Ellyn community. read more

If you are just there for golfing cool. Great course, for a great cost. If you are trying to setup a party at their clubhouse, forget about it. Voicemails left, emailed through the website. Actually had a rep I finally spoke with say he would call me back because he was too busy setting up for a party and never did. Really poor customer service. read more

My first time here, and an entirely new clubhouse too. First things first, the course (the 9 hole to be exact). Great! No complaints here. We were asked 'along with everyone else (sure)' to repair ball marks - which should be a curtesy anyway. And we even made happy hour pricing! 3 players for $50 buck - not bad! The new clubhouse, gorgeous! Amazing patio and what looks to be outdoor bar and fire pits (not open/working just yet). Very nice! Now my issues... Service. The drink cart wasn't spotted past the 1st hole. We even called from the 5th and were told she had a radio, but they couldn't rado her. Odd.... But nope, never saw her again! So BYO or stock up on 1 if you care to have a drink or two during your game. Service during our 'we didn't lose any balls' celebratory lunch was lacking as well. It was busy, but certainly not packed. It was hard to keep any water in our glasses, and the bar drinks varied slightly each time. The food was very good! We split up a few apps - chicken quesadillas, chicken tenders with sweet potato fries and nachos. (Thought the nachos did have to be sent back to the kitchen and replaced.). The course is very nice, usually in great shape. Seems to be one of the most difficult places to secure a weekend morning teetime, I'm assuming they have set foursomes which is unfortunate to most golfers. Love the layout and conditions. Only reason for 3 stars is their awful driving range. The quality of the grass at the driving range seems like it doesn't fit with the quality of everything else. It's like you are at a different course entirely. Very disappointed every time I go there. Have even gone to different driving ranges before going to play there. The mgmt should really address this. read more

Just finished dinner at the restaurant and came away very disappointed. The new menu is so meat centric that there are no vegetarian sandwich or main course options. When asked our server simply agreed that the menu was protein heavy. The new menu is missing pizza but had a couple of flatbreads as appetizers. Gone are the baked potatoes but there are side dish alternatives but you must ask as they are not listed on the menu. A veggie burger would be an easy option-buy them frozen in bulk at Costco and keep them on hand-but no the only burger was a hefty beef burger for carnivores. Sadly, I am not sure we will be going back as the manager was not responsive when we approached him and the food was just not good. read more

This review is not to disrespect the golf course, but to bring attention to the worker in the pro shop who answered the phone and took my tee time. As a 23 year old Master's student in accounting, I was belittled and degraded by multiple "mommy" comments he made over the phone in regards to the round my parent's bought and paid for me as a graduation present. No matter the quality of the course, I will not be returning to this course due to my round being ruined hours before it started. I am saddened by the disrespect at what I thought was a stand up establishment. It is about the people behind the product, not the product itself that is important in life. read more

I agree, this is a GREAT public golf course. The landscaping is beautiful and the set up is very nice. We played recently on a Saturday when the weather was beautiful, so everybody and their freakin' mother was there golfing and play was VERY slow. That is to be expected on a weekend day, but I was a little disappointed that I didn't see any marshalls out there moving play along and telling people to hurry it up. The only reason I'm not such a huge fan is because they have gas-powered golf carts (very loud) and because for non-residents of Glen Ellyn, greens fees are not cheap. However, they do have an ok pro shop and nice practice facilities. Lunch at the grill there was pretty much right on par with all the other clubhouses I've ever eaten at... not outstanding but good! read more

Very nice course, but the management is terrible. Tee times are spaced every 7 minutes so they are never on time. Even a 10 am tee time might not tee off until 11 am. Rounds can easily take 5 - 6 hours. Too many better run courses in the area to go here. read more

A little pricey but the course was immaculate! They had a 1.5 hour frost delay which is unfortunate but that's not their fault either. We played 18 and the pace was very quick despite the delay. The greens were in great shape for being this late in the season. We had a great time and will be returning! read more

it's time for the links to grow up and build a nice restaraunt / lounge inside complete with hd tv's, mahogany bar and leather chairs. it's a nice course (except for the greens this year), but has amateur amenities. gotta have a great 19th hole ! plus, maybe they could start hosting outings and banquets. read more

One of the best courses in the area. It's well designed and well maintained with a friendly staff, newly expanded restaurant, and reasonable prices. The 18-hole course is especially challenging with large, tiered greens. Both the 18 and 9 are beautifully landscaped with picture-postcard vistas throughout. My daughter and 14 of her friends played footgolf here. Beautiful updated facility and greens were very nice. Reasonably priced. The girls never played footgolf so I just wish someone from the club would show them where and how to play. I would definatley come back and recommend! read more

Nice course, nice layout, maintained well but will not play here again until they enforce a 10 minute tee time interval. They need a MAJOR culture change with pace of play. HORRIBLE. I drive by here every Saturday morning in the summer and drive 7 miles down the road and pay more than twice the price to play a course in a reasonable 4 hours. read more
