We hiked all day and then found a local place to have dinner. Village local kitchen is located off of Lake street, on Bristol Nh. They have a large lot, a wheel chair accessible entrance, I nice large bar, and a good size dinning room. It's very cute and well done inside. We entered and were asked if we wanted take out or dine in. Our server was Tina, and she was fantastic. We got two apps, and then we each got dinner as well. Their wings were fantastically delicious. Their ranch was bomb! They seemed to be doing a lot of take out, and were pretty busy even though we were alone on the dining room. I got the mob quad Italian and omg! Delicious. My sister got the chicken sandwich and I was jealous of that as well. My mom got the BLT. Everyone was happy! I asked the server how long they'd been open, and she said "about a year". So they are still new and need some good word of mouth. So I a here to say, if you live in the area, swing in. They do dine in, take out and have a full bar. Tina was awesome ! She asked us to write a review, if we didn't mind. We didn't mind, and it was not just because she asked us too! I like to yelp, and it's always amazing when, I do not have to fib or tell white lies. We've ordered take out a couple times and also sat at the bar a couple times for drinks and apps, take out. The new restaurant look is clean and the new bar is inviting. Service is good with good martinis for a fair price. Our favorites so far have been the Village Idiot pizza (well done) and the meatball calzone which is delicious because the meatballs are homemade and the calzones are the perfect size for one person. We have tried the chicken tenders and the steak spring rolls which were both tasty but we felt the portion size was a little on the small side. It's nice having another option in town. We appreciate that the owners seem to take feedback into consideration and have a quality improvement mindset. read more

Have a cottage on Newfound Lake and eat out almost every weekend at some local restaurant (with the exception of Winter Season where we don't come up much). Have never tried this place (have heard mixed reviews) although we drive by several times every weekend. They did do a nice job rebuilding since the fire. This past Saturday evening my wife and I stopped by for an early dinner. I ordered scallops and she ordered haddock. Sort of a self-serve setup, where you seat yourselves and then go up to the counter to order. Once the food is ready, they do drop it at your table. That's it. No further service. Food was good and plentiful, and I was aware of the $1 upcharge for substituting onion rings for French fries and also a $2 upcharge for sweat potato fries - which I considered petty. What we didn't know (if there was a sign, we missed it) is that there is an 3% Credit card charge (I had the cash and would have used it if I knew) and they do the annoying thing where they turn the CC processing reader around for you to "approve" the charge and "select" the tip - that low end was 15%. Well after the 3% CC charge, food substitution upcharges, 15% tip, NH State meals tax (9%), it added over $15 (almost 30%) to our bill - and it was essentially self-service! To be clear, we ALWAYS do tip, however it is usually for some type of service. Here they simply placed the orders on our table and that was the last we saw of anyone. I read other reviews where folks have complained about congestion at the take-out/order placement desk so it is possible both my wife & I did miss the 3% CC charge posting - if there was one. Food was good, not great, prices ok, but not great (I know everything is more expensive right now) atmosphere was ok (was rather dead @ 4:30 pm on a Saturday - most orders are probably takeout), place was clean, but there was nothing exceptional about what is essentially a Pizza Joint, recently rebuilt from the ground up. For us, we will not be back nor will we recommend. read more

Pizza was mediocre at best. Sloppily put together. Sauce was thick in some places and thin in others. Same with the cheese.The sauce is very sweet. It's a thin crust. They should have stuck with Village Pizza's pizza recipe. That was some of the best pizza around. It was only their second day open and was very busy. Our entrees were delicious - garlic butter haddock with slaw and sweet potatoes fries and fried clams with bellies with chips and slaw. Cocktails were exquisite! We were expecting to arrive in town fairly late, and my boyfriend is vegan. Searching from afar, we were disheartened to think we would have to travel extra miles just to get dinner. A local reminded us that pizza places in NH serve pasta. Bingo! We went to the Village Pizza and asked if we could split an order of pasta with plain sauce. They went out of their way to provide us with an abundance of good food. The next day, again, we were too tired to travel and went back to order a pizza without cheese. Again, they made sure to help us get exactly what we wanted. The pizza crust is really yummy. Crunchy and tasty. The service is awesome. And want this to pop up for others looking for a solution so I'll say it again: They will work to make vegan and vegetarian options for you. read more

Stopped in on a Monday, ordered a couple chicken Parmesans, honest they weren't good, it was basically fried chicken fingers with heavy batter, diced up and some provolone tossed on top. Now in their defense I didn't want my sub a grinder (cooked in oven), so the cheese didnt have a chance to melt, but this doesn't excuse the chicken quality. Season Fries were decent and the prices were a bit steep, 3 subs 2 drinks 1 fry almost $40? I don't know, maybe I should have ordered a steak and cheese ? First time there so I asked what they recommend. I tried the chicken tenders which were awesomeness and had been recommended, and the village special pizza. OMG was it great. Love the Parmesan in the mini meatballs, well I think that is where it was as the pie was loaded! I had no problem with any of it and don't get some of the other reviews. I enjoyed all, the sauce was great. It was all very good and then I noticed they had Stella on tap and for $3 for a good size draft! I would have gone 5 stars but think it is slightly higher in price (but not the Stella, lol) but given its a smaller town away from everything is not far out of line. The small town I'm in borders on Concord, a real city, and I have the same price issues. Will try the steak and cheese next time as that was the other recommendation. Thanks it was delish! read more

I hadn't visited in a while but I called in a pizza based on past experience. I needed a quick and dirty average pizza. Unfortunately my large half topping pizza was in the smallest large box I've seen. I paid enough for a really large specialty pizza anywhere else... two bucks a slice.This pizza was best described as a medium. When I looked up at the price board to check prices I found all the prices had been removed. I can only guess there has been a change in ownership. But here is the best part I got home with my undersized pizza and found it was under cooked as well, the cheese wasn't melted completely and the crust was doughy. NEVER AGAIN! read more
