I love the fact that they are open late! Most places close early in the village which is bothersome. Especially during summer. However this place has what you need and alway open. I like that they have a diverse selections from vegetables to liquors to household items. The beat part is Marianne's ice cream. The staff is friendly . Local wines are sold at bargain prices. read more

Every time you walk in your greeted with a smile and hello. And Roberto at the deli is a Badass. Today I had his tacos they were ground beef and they were off the hook. I've always received great service here and think the owner offers very affordable prices. He could raise prices but caters to those on fixed incomes. The selection is very good and they will accommodate to specific needs if he can sell the items. Their liquor selection has grown significantly in recent months that would satisfy most discerning drinkers... I would love to see more fresh meats but space is limited. read more

90% of the Staff is Exceptional Solid 5 Stars. 10% of the Staff is Awkward, unusual, and behaves a little on the Left Side of normal. My guess is that the left hand operating on weekdays doesnt know what the right hand is doing on the weekends, to garner a 2 on a 5 scale. read more

Oh my gosh during the virus outbreak we couldn't find staples like milk and eggs and after three different stores we stopped at the Village Market and they had everything we needed. I guess mountain people stock up Incase a tree or something keeps them trapped. Anyway, back to my review.... I highly recommend this Gem. read more

this is regarding an experience that occurred to my sister. she went to shop here with her kids a week ago, and today she went to buy more items including some alcohol beverages for herself and husband . she was told that her i d was fake.. she is 28 years old! her id is not fake and the guy just said he couldn't take his word back, even though he remembered coming in the week before. lol . come in if you wanna feel flatered hehehee :) read more

This little market has just about everything - great beer and wine selection, fresh produce at really reasonable prices, milk and eggs plus a variety of ice cream. There's even a well rounded selection of cheeses and salamis to build your own picnic after purchasing wine from the market or any nearby tasting room. Fresh bread from Paris Bakery, Daves Killer Bread and even flatbreads are available. I live nearby and it is a pleasure to be able to walk over and get that elusive missing ingredient that I need to make dinner. I went into the village market with my 15 month old daughter in hand I was threatened physically violently by the store clerk I asked him what was the problem he would not tell me he said when he finds me outside of the store he will show me what it's about he was going to kill me and beat me up my daughter was screaming and crying I left immediately I returned the product that I have purchased he screamed get the fuck out of his store . I contacted the Sheriffs department and my daughter is now afraid to go into any store I would never go into that store again the stores clerk is his name is Ben .I am pressing charges and am filing a law suit against the village market. read more

This is a great little market addition to the valley! They have all your basic needs and some pretty awesome extras too. We always get our last min. - opps we ran out - milk, bread, eggs and kefir here. The staff is always super friendly and they leave the doors open - which always make me feel welcome! We're new to the area and decided to check out Carmel Valley today. Ended up in a place called the "Village" drove past a market and stopped to grab some sandwiches. We didn't see any so my Wife asked the clerk and she said the nearest deli is 8 miles back on the left. So we jumped in the car and before we left their was this other store right next to the Market that has a sign "Deli", so we went in and in the back there it was, we ordered and told the clerk the lady at the market said the closest deli was 8 miles down the road, she smiled and said nope we're here and glad we went in wow these sandwiches were great, never would have expected that. Well "The Village Market" was really unprofessional, I was sure glad we didn't drive past this deli at "The Grapevine", worth the drive out. read more

Shocker, Went in today on a whim. Lucked out and found the place clean, well lit and stocked with brands I drive to Cornucopia or Whole Foods for. Clover Milk, Ann Chun's seaweed snacks and Synergy Kombucha. Grabbed a few condiments to round out Sunday dinner, and will go back when I have more time for lunch box fillers. The whole Grain breads looked good, and there's a lot of tortilla and tostada selections. The shelves are well stocked, and I plan to try some of the things I've never used before. Got a good price on peanut oil in a nice glass bottle. It seems the owners and managers are putting in a lot of time and effort to bring Carmel Valley another option for groceries, and I'm going to support them. The prices are reasonable. Too bad it took so long for me to figure it out. Tell a friend, so things move off the shelves. A small, but decent choice of organic fruits and veggies for a quick fix. Pop in and see for yourself, the only thing left of the previous owner's is that lingering smell of incense! The female cashier was helpful and friendly, no trouble there. read more

Some time in the past year this market changed ownership and all signs of the old village market are gone - THIS IS A GOOD THING! The staff is very friendly, the store is clean, bright and uncluttered; I feel very comfortable shopping here. I usually call the market first to see if they have whatever odd ingredient I am searching for - for example, once I needed plain whole milk yogurt for a recipe, you would be surprised how difficult this can be to find in these days of 0 fat and a zillion flavors, but the village market saved me a trip to mid-valley. Another bonus is that the Village Market has very nice produce at reasonable prices. read more
