This use to be the Wild Goose Cafe many, many, many moons ago. Cute place and layout. They still have local artist painting/art on the wall for purchase (love that they support their community). The coffees are great and the pastries even better. Its not pretentious cafe in anyway. They welcome singles, couples, families and those with pets. We stayed awhile enjoying our coffees and pastries and people watched.

This place is cute and welcomes pets. Seems most of the patrons are locals. The staff is friendly and you could tell they enjoy working here. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, an open-faced Lox bagel sandwich, and a fruit parfait (not pictured). They were all delicious, especially the lox bagel. I would definitely order that again. They also have handmade tile art that is for sale and featured all over their walls. The bakery is located in a small center that has a market and other restaurants. We walked around and could really feel the small town vibe, which I absolutely adore. Definitely stop by here when visiting Carmel.

I had to rate this spot again. I am a seasonal returner to Carmel Valley. I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my favorite places to eat, and this one never disappoints. For a picky eater that I am. I love stopping in here--it's one of the few places where I feel genuinely tempted to try something new. The frittatas are amazing, and they offer a great variety of thoughtfully selected pastries, including options for dietary restrictions like gluten-free. Staff are always friendly and patient with the curious like me. :)

From the friendly smiles and warm welcoming from the pour of the expresso till the hand off Sunny's was nothing less of a delightful experience. With a homey and relaxed atmosphere and what seems and endless amount of mouth watering pastries. But what stole the show for me was an unprecedented sign "eggs Benedict " a new special only during the weekdays in preference to the locals . The rich and delicate hollandaise sauce was topped with fresh cracked pepper and a dab of sprouts . Accompanied by a homemade vinaigrette and mixed green salad hands down made the visit all that memorable. Next time you think about coming to Sunny's keep an eye out for the sign displayed at the register, I know I will ,till next time Sunny's .

Such a gem! We stumbled upon Sunny Bakery Cafe while driving from Carmel Valley to Big Sur and decided to stop for breakfast. I immediately loved that they were dog friendly, and the barista even gave my dog a biscuit. The interior had colorful wooden furniture, wall art, and a cozy ambiance. I ordered a Dirty Chai Latte, which was tasty and not overly sweetened, and the open-face Bagel with Lox. The bagel itself was just ok, but tasted great as a sandwich with the cream cheese, lox, onions, and capers. It was also so filling, I ended up taking half of it to-go. I also got a Blueberry Scone for the road, which was great. The blueberries in the middle were so tasty, and the dough had the right level of sweetness. Service was quick and so friendly/welcoming! Overall, I would happily return to try more items.

Loved all the fresh bakery, juices and the warmth. We had their spicy breakfast burrito, egg crossoient and ginger love juice.

This cute little bakery has the most wonderful raspberry scones. It's a nice little meeting place for coffee in the village.

The staff is genuinely friendly, welcoming, and engaged from the moment you walk in with a cheerful "Hi!" In a world where good customer service can be hard to find, this team gets it right. A special shout-out to Nicole, who makes the perfect drink every single time and always adds a bright touch to the experience. Great food, great drinks, plenty of parking, and wonderful people. I walked in, immediately gravitated to the wall of bread, picked up a loaf, immediately put it back when I saw they had slabs of focaccia as well and got one of those instead. The other baked goods of the day were on display, so I got a piece of raspberry-iced olive oil cake and a slice of the pumpkin loaf. Will definitely be back - this is right down the road from a place we've been staying in Carmel Valley. Exciting to see this bakery in a quieter area that we happen visit every year. We'd definitely been getting our Ad Astra fix over the entire weekend: we had stopped by the other location the day before, and our friends who we stayed together with even brought some stuff from this one for us to try. But eager to see the place with my own eyes, I ventured out in the rain on our last morning in Carmel Valley. Excellent as always. We enjoyed the focaccia at home over the next few days; the cake and loaf piece were tender and moist.

The…read moreselection of pastries and breakfast items made it so hard to choose because everything looked amazing! I ended up getting the ham and bacon quiche and it did not disappoint. It was flaky, light, and had the perfect crunch. I paired it with a vanilla latte with almond milk, and as a barista myself, I have to say the latte was a 10/10. You can tell it was crafted with care. I enjoyed my breakfast in the patio where they had outside seating, it was clean and very spacious! The service was also great! The barista who took my order was super friendly and made sure I got my items once they were ready. I'll definitely be coming back to try one of their sweet pastries next time!

Definitely stick with their pastries as their other savory foods looked alright (perhaps one day I'll try and see how they taste). Yelp told me about this bakery in the older Carmel Plaza here that's not in the main Ocean Ave. The plaza was sadly mostly empty but was still curious to see how this bakery is. The inside was also pretty sparse at the time of my visit and there were a decent amount of pastries still on display and first impression of their sandwich & other savory goods was a bit of a miss by the looks of it. Still I ordered a lime tart, tiramisu, and a guava raspberry tart with no coffee, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how good they all were! Not too overly sweet, and it didn't feel like any other generic tart/tiramisu so I would definitely be curious to try some more. Staff were also friendly and the overall price per pastry was slightly on the pricier side but then again, this is Carmel. Perhaps another plus if anything about this place is you definitely won't have to worry about tourist crowds or long lines! Would I come back here? Maybe I will give their savory food a try next time as well but truth be told regardless, I'll check them out again for more pastries as they did a good job. Worth the visit!
