Shoutout from the green inhale/exhale (me) sweater this morning! I arrived after checking out our inn to grab a chai latte (to be honest it wasn't my favorite) at this eye catching pastry delight of a place before going on my solo way. Decided to go with two cookies for my brothers (and parents to share if inclined to). I unforuntately on the hand am allergic to oats and so did not get any cookies for myself. One was a orange with I can't recall what and one was a peanut butter one. My parents thought these cookies were fantastic. Dad is raving about it and he doesn't care for sweets that much. He was asking all the details of this spot. And said it's defintely better than any of the cookie chains his children have been obessed with growing up. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I'll defintely be back! - Staff super sweet, especially the lady who took my order. - What you may or may not experience with other Patrons: Patrons from this morning: some were friendly, out of the way, and at least two were slighly to most defintely unpleasant. One noticeable patron in the blue cyan bright shirt this morning gave the worst energy and was as loud as his shirt - sir, you take up space and are a unpleasant soul. Loved it! I had the veggie burrito and coffee. Plenty of food and good salsa. They offered two drip coffee which was great. Plenty of seating. Lots of yummy looking baked breakfast goodies. read more

This use to be the Wild Goose Cafe many, many, many moons ago. Cute place and layout. They still have local artist painting/art on the wall for purchase (love that they support their community). The coffees are great and the pastries even better. Its not pretentious cafe in anyway. They welcome singles, couples, families and those with pets. We stayed awhile enjoying our coffees and pastries and people watched. read more

From the friendly smiles and warm welcoming from the pour of the expresso till the hand off Sunny's was nothing less of a delightful experience. With a homey and relaxed atmosphere and what seems and endless amount of mouth watering pastries. But what stole the show for me was an unprecedented sign "eggs Benedict " a new special only during the weekdays in preference to the locals . The rich and delicate hollandaise sauce was topped with fresh cracked pepper and a dab of sprouts . Accompanied by a homemade vinaigrette and mixed green salad hands down made the visit all that memorable. Who doesn't like to be called "Sweetie" while he's ordering--by just a really genuinely kind person. I'd go back for that alone. But that and the dogs, and the owner thanking us for coming, and the quirky (in the best way), whimsical cafe made for a really memorable experience. Add to that really good food, and it's a perfect café. It was our first time there. We learned bout it from an article in Edible Monterey Bay. There are a lot of excellent cafes on the Monterey Peninsula, but add in the food and the service, and there's nothing really quite like it, or at least that does it so well, that we've seen. We started with coffee, a piece of frittata and an almond croissant. All three were remarkably good--possibly the best almond croissant I've had. The frittata was so good, we ended up ordering more to take home with us--and a delicious bagel thoughtfully prepared to produce the perfect proportions and the perfect freshness. We'll be back--again and again. read more

This place is cute and welcomes pets. Seems most of the patrons are locals. The staff is friendly and you could tell they enjoy working here. We ordered a breakfast sandwich, an open-faced Lox bagel sandwich, and a fruit parfait (not pictured). They were all delicious, especially the lox bagel. I would definitely order that again. They also have handmade tile art that is for sale and featured all over their walls. The bakery is located in a small center that has a market and other restaurants. We walked around and could really feel the small town vibe, which I absolutely adore. Definitely stop by here when visiting Carmel. read more

I had to rate this spot again. I am a seasonal returner to Carmel Valley. I'm a creature of habit when it comes to my favorite places to eat, and this one never disappoints. For a picky eater that I am. I love stopping in here--it's one of the few places where I feel genuinely tempted to try something new. The frittatas are amazing, and they offer a great variety of thoughtfully selected pastries, including options for dietary restrictions like gluten-free. Oh my goodness, we cannot say enough good about this place! First of all, best almond croissant ever. Secondly, really seriously good coffee. Thirdly, there are so many wonderful savory items to choose from! When I was looking online, I almost didn't try it because I didn't see things like frittata and quiche listed. Such a gem! We stumbled upon Sunny Bakery Cafe while driving from Carmel Valley to Big Sur and decided to stop for breakfast. I immediately loved that they were dog friendly, and the barista even gave my dog a biscuit. The interior had colorful wooden furniture, wall art, and a cozy ambiance. I ordered a Dirty Chai Latte, which was tasty and not overly sweetened, and the open-face Bagel with Lox. The bagel itself was just ok, but tasted great as a sandwich with the cream cheese, lox, onions, and capers. It was also so filling, I ended up taking half of it to-go. I also got a Blueberry Scone for the road, which was great. The blueberries in the middle were so tasty, and the dough had the right level of sweetness. Service was quick and so friendly/welcoming! We ate at Sunny Bakery twice last weekend and the coffee and food were delicious. The service was prompt and the staff were helpful and knowledgeable. We ate indoors since it was a little chilly out but they also have some outdoor seating. I enjoyed a sugar free hazelnut soy latte and a soy mocha. I always appreciate having options for nondairy milks and some sugar free syrup choices for coffee house beverages. The frittata with goat cheese and artichoke was delicious and filling. On my second visit I had the ham and egg bagel with plenty of fluffy scrambled eggs. The muffins and jumbo cookies were delightful. My husband enjoyed his burrito but he thought the ingredients could have been distributed a bit more evenly in the tortilla. It came with a side of salsa and sour cream. If we get back to the Carmel Valley area again we'd definitely go there again. It's a lovely little village. read more

We came here 3 days in a row during our weekend stay in the valley. Everything we had was excellent! Here is a list of what we had: -breakfast burrito add sausage -egg, ham, and cheese bfast sandwich on a bagel -almond croissant (highly recommend) -cortado -iced latte with oat milk They were busy 2/3 mornings so not always a ton of seating! We live locally and like the local vibe. The pastries and bagels are delicious. The person at the counter (the owner) needs to find someone to work the counter that is friendly and not put out when a customer asks for something. I asked for more coffee as the self serve coffee was empty. I was told that she would make more when she had time. The restaurant was full of people that wanted more coffee (I was not the only one that asked). The owner seemed like they did not want to be there. Needs to find someone to be the friendly voice of her business. read more

Formerly wild goose (2 stars). If you haven't been here since the new ownership, then you're in for a treat when you come. All the pastries are home made, fresh and delicious. The service is super friendly and the coffee is always hot. The exact opposite of how it used to be. It's really a pleasure to stop by here. It is finally a real bakery and coffee house. The croissant breakfast sandwich is absolutely delicious and filling!! So good I went back 2 days in a row to get it togo! The egg is cooked perfectly and the cheese and ham is so good the picture does not do it justice as I grabbed it Togo but it's so delicious!! The mocha is made with love as you can tell and is so good. The staff is so friendly and a cute little place in the village!! A wonderful relaxing bakery! The food is excellent and a perfect place to hang out and relax. The bakery has a local feeling which is hard to find these days. The new owner has made this place welcoming as well as providing delicious goodies and coffee. A must stop when in Carmel Valley! Everyone working there is smiling and welcoming! There is also very nice artwork on the walls which rotates often. Stop by and relax for a cup of coffee with friends or pick up yummy food from pastries to sweet little baguette sandwiches for your home or a picnic. Love this place! read more

Sunny Bakery is everything what a small town bakery has to offer. Very reasonable prices for its coffee and freshly baked goods. Coffee is good with your usual choices. A mix of locals and tourists filing in steadily, very cozy and relaxing. Service at the counter is quick and friendly. Ample parking and indoor sittings. I enjoy this sweet little bakery, they have delicious croissants and house made granola parfaits with apricots. It's always nice to take home a delicious jar of house made jam. Sunny Cafe's walls feature local art work which changes frequently. read more

we are local, and Sunny's is our splurge when we want to reward ourselves. Everything we've tried there has been spot-on; and we like the helpful youth serving us with a smile. What really knocks me out is the Almond Croissant! I have tried many, but Sunny's is perfection: delicious flaky pastry, tasty almond fill, not too sweet; but most of all, perfectly baked to an almost caramelized exterior. It's almost crunchy, and never soggy and flaccid like others. Sunny's has spoiled me; I don't need to try another almond croissant again. read more

We visited this cafe twice during our 4 days in Carmel Valley. This cafe was close to our hotel, and my husband needs his morning coffee/pastry so we checked this place out. And i'm glad we did because all of the pastries were delicious! We tried so many. The blueberry scone, blueberry muffin, lemon pound cake, coffee cake, chocolate chip walnut cookie, sugar brioche, and caprese sandwich. I never have high hopes when I try new places in the area, but this cafe was super cute and had great pastries. We bought a box of pastries to bring back with us. We had wonderful homemade quiches and coffee for breakfast. On the expensive side but well worth it.

Great bagel, avocado, tomato, cream cheese, coffee , blueberry muffin. Just a bit loud, but there are outside tables.
