A vintage dream and expect to find random cool stuff at a reasonable price - this made my Portland trip worthwhile. If you want to upcycle, this is it.

If you're thrifting make sure to hit this place! Village Merchants has more square footage than your average thrift store, so make sure you don't miss the upstairs & the outside sections. The store offers: jewelry, clothes, home goods, nick-nacks, luggage, stuffed animals, books, art supplies, clocks, Flower pots, wicker baskets, furniture etc. Low prices & good stuff. There's always something cute & unexpected there. I enjoy their low prices, but with low prices comes the extra work of having to Sift through stuff. It isn't as curated as some boutique stores with higher prices bc they are reaching a broader audience. I usually buy vintage eclectic, or trendy things, but the store caters to other people's needs as well. Check out the vintage purses, which are behind the glass case & not with the regular purses- I bought 1 from West Germany for $5!. I, also, frequent their glassware. If you're in the market for wine glasses this is a must go place bc their prices are great. Eg crystal wine glasses $2 a piece. I also get vintage tea cups ($3), & mason jars. Then I hit the books Last time I was there, I scored 1984 for $3. Great place to buy things, but if you want to unload some of your old stuff you can also sell it to them as well. I prefer to bring items & trade them for the store credit

Well, this was a fun find!

How many times can I tell you I love this place? No, really... please meet me here one day and I'll awkwardly drag you around the store and introduce you to all of the special finds I am considering bringing home any given week. And I'm truly ok if YOU'D like to buy some of these things instead. They are treasures... deserving of a new home... preferably at someone else's expense! (I think I'm in the early stages of hoarding) Village Merchants is intelligently laid out, with all the special knickknacks and shiny objects in the front of the store. There's plenty of quirky vintage clothing to rummage through, well as toys, books, kitchen gadgets and household wares. Also, make sure I remind you to check out one of my favorite areas of the store out the back door. There is an outdoor section with every imaginable garden tchotchke you can think of. Garden pots, gnomes, outdoor shelving and garden tools... you name it, they've got it! I'll admit, it can get pretty frustrating antiquing and vintage shopping in Portland as there are so many shops with inflated prices. But I've found so many bargains at Village Merchants, literally every time I shop here I walk away with some "steal" I'm pretty certain was priced incorrectly. However, there's no need to slink back to your car to quickly swallow your receipt and hide any trace of what you paid. Everything is priced fairly and ready to find a new home. Parking can be a little tight on busy weekends, but you'll find plenty of spots in neighboring side streets. Also, be sure to check out the taco cart in the parking lot. A refreshing glass of rosa jamaica hits the spot after a marathon shopping day. Yes, I am a consumer, but I purchase many things second hand so I'm doing my part to make the world a better place... one macrame plant hanger or vintage suitcase at a time. Check out Village Merchants, it's highly likely you'll run into me here!

Happened across this store by accident as I was walking to Nakhon Sawan for lunch. Great place to waander while waiting for a togo order from next door. Wonderfully curated store with everything for everyone. Truth be told, there isn't a single item here that I need, but the number of items I wanted was off the charts! Very organized, reasonable price point, amazing and eclectic selection. Worth a trip if you are in the mood for treasure hunting. I found an amazing garden trellis, plus some really fun/cute vintage dinnerware. Worth a stop, even if you aren't in the neighborhood.

Front window, love how they have an assortment of house plants year round!

While they would not haggle on price with me, the prices were good so I paid the asking on a set of vintage dishes.

I love thrifting and estate sale shopping, so Community Warehouse was an excellent choice for me on this special day. I love Community Warehouse's mission! It's a nonprofit furniture bank that collects home goods and redistributes them to those in need. The warehouse space in the back accepts furniture donations, and houses a large collection of pieces for their program. There is also a retail space in the front of the building where visitors can peruse estate sale home goods like furniture and decor. There is a wide variety of products to choose from, and everything I saw was in excellent condition. The store is pleasantly curated, and prices are fair and well-marked. I purchased a nightstand, and found many other items that may draw me back to the store sooner than later. I'm pleased to add Community Warehouse to my regular rotation of home goods stores I frequent.

It's ok. Definitely not a "thrift store". They get some really good things, but holy cow, their…read moreonline prices are astronomical. Prices in the store tend to be slightly more reasonable, but they are creeping up as well. I understand that they use the funds for community services, which I love, but unfortunately, my friends and I can no longer afford to spend money there. Sadly, I think my days of shopping here are over. Bums me out because I loved being able to find good, affordable items while contributing to a great cause. Now it's just no longer affordable. The volunteers I've encountered are really lovely people, and they do good things for the community. I will definitely miss it.

We got there just after opening and the…read more"resellers" were like full blown vultures snatching everything, but they were at least polite in each other's spaces. A lot of the stuff in the bins is kinda dirty (PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING GLOVES), there were some serious throwbacks to my childhood, and we mostly left with toys for our dog, but it was worth it for the experience (we weren't looking to resell). The employees were helpful and kind, but Margie took the extra time with us at checkout to really give us the rundown of how the system works and we really appreciated that. I had a somewhat small bag that I ended up filling for $13.99 and I wasn't really disappointed. Will probably try it out again in the future just for kicks.

This place was packed with bins, and the workers added new bins every so often. I went around 10am, but the store was already fairly busy, and people definitely crowded the new bins as they came out. If you're visiting the bins for the first time, I would recommend going in with a plan. What type of items do you want? Will you stick with your friends or branch out? Are you going to race to the new bins, or wait for the rush of people to die down and then pick through? I have heard some gross stories about people finding used underwear or other sketchy items in the bins, but I did not experience this. Most of the items were super clean. Some were a little broken (for example, a broken appliance), but nothing absolute trash-worthy was in there. Rating 3 stars because most of the clothing was for children or grandmas, and I wished there had been more cute adult clothing.
