They have pretty much anything you could think of that you might want and probably a ton of things you didn't know you needed but have to have! Honestly, I had high expectations of this place since it was recommended by tons of people, and I was unfortunately disappointed. It looked cute on the outside and it was very close to where we were staying so it wasn't much of an inconvenience to stop by. It's a place with several vendor areas so different racks for different vibes. But overall, everything was sort of the same with stained and ripped clothing overpriced. I would call most of this stuff ratty before I would call it vintage. Flannels were priced $25 to $40 when they should have been max $10. A lot of it did not seem to be curated either. Just random clothes piled together. There were some pieces that were nice but overall not worth the price. I'm sure the people who work here and the owners are nice, but this place was just disappointing. There are better shops on the area. read more

Sandy starkman is the designer of embroidery on rayon material jacket. So beautiful owl jacket which I really wanted but it was a size small. It was a dream jacket. . Sunglasses, I found the oversize sunglasses that are shaped circle. I have been looking for it. I went with the black metal frame and black lens, for everyday wear. I also had my eye on the gold metal frame with oversize circle shaped sunglasses and pink lens. I skipped the pink lens one. . At the end of the trip we drove by again and I pulled a stop there. I got the pink lens one. And I was so happy. My friend wanted to see me buy it and try it on. I had a cheerleader to say buy it. It was really my style and I looked like an Asian Elton John. I figured I need this for my upcoming palm springs vacation. I want to do a all pink theme for my first palm springs vacation. . I really loved this store. It was so big and there is so much to see. There are home goods, kitchen ware, cups, and shoes, to bags, and clothes. Basically anything you can think of. My friend found her mj cards and cds of mariah Carey for 3 dollar each. . Overall I really had a great experience and easily spend 1 hr or more to go through the store quickly. The prices can be high but if you love I say get it. This place was a mess. They had some nice pieces, but there is no fluidity, there's about 15 sections of jeans with no discernible organization. Men's and women's clothing were all mixed together so you're forced to double check every item on every rack. I'm sure I'd enjoy this place if I was unemployed and had unlimited time to shop for clothing, but that would bring about the second problem. The pricing. Multiple items had sloppily ripped off Goodwill tags that showed 100%+ mark ups. I understand needing to make money, but the barely ripped tags were very off putting. $30 for a ratty "distressed" t-shirt is crazy. read more

Huge Vintage space - a couple of things going into my 3 stars. If you're looking for an absolute time suck of looking for clothing - this is it. I don't recommend for anyone plus size though since there's barely anything above a size M that's not a ratty t-shirt. If you're looking for housewares or home decor, this is not it. Once in awhile you'll see lucite grapes but other than that it's just clothing. No bathrooms even for paying guests kinda can cut your visit short. Literally was 100 degrees in the space when I last visited. I nearly passed out in the basement (would anyone find you or would you become another oddity to be sold?) If you're into curated clothing and sifting through a real life Depop store, sure. This is it. I'd say you're also better off spending an hour at the goodwill bins and finding a ripped Bush/Cheney t shirt on your own for $1. I love the variety of all the vendors, and how big this place is that you really don't know what is around the next corner for a special find. Walking through the doors, I was intimidated by the eclectic mix just outside. I was pleasantly shocked by how it was inside! Lots of vintage clothing and shoes, some vintage collectibles like cookie jars. Very organized and clean, staff was also very polite! The prices were definitely a bit higher than I would have expected, but so is the price of literally everything lately. The quality of the clothing was all quite good, and I didn't notice much with stains or holes. Can't wait to come in and do a real deep dive! read more

They hold a market downstairs on weekends and the vendor booths are well put together with tons of variety . I love the range in sizes for all the clothing , the booths are so inclusive , and the prices are great if you find something of interest . Wow, this place is HUGE! Perusing the aisles made me wish I had a themed costume party to go to. If you're looking for some vintage threads from various decades and costumes, this is a great place to check out. Oh, and if you have a retro prom or wedding party to attend, they've got plenty of formal wear, too. They also have plenty of accessories like hats, shoes, scarves & jewelry to complete your ensemble. Throw in some some home decor and collectibles, and you can spend hours wandering around taking it all in (but they have mainly clothing and accessories more than anything else). Some vendor booths were more organized than others and pricing varies from booth to booth. They have a small private parking lot for customers, but you could park in a nearby neighborhood and walk over or find street parking if needed. read more

I am a local Stylist here in Portland, and have shopped here for years! Aka have spent thousands of dollars here! Used to love coming here for great finds, but at this point the staff are so rude! Constantly announcing when they are closing the ENTIRE time we were in the shop from the moment we stepped foot in the door. We came in 40 minutes before closing, and started looking quickly, only to be told we were no longer allowed to try our items on before purchase when they had a half an hour before the actual close! This is insane! I ended up purchasing a pair of vintage Levi's anyway, hoping they would fit. Unfortunately, they are way too big, and they don't allow any returns. Really fantastic policy Needless to say, I will not be returning. Nor will I recommend this place to any of my clients or friends. Keep up the great work y'all! read more

I really wanted to visit this place since I moved here, and after browsing a while I decided to check out the furniture section of the store and they had this couch. This is the literal couch I donated to GoodWill 2 days before coming to this store. They were selling the couch that I donated to GoodWill for almost $300. I got super creeped out and had to leave. I didn't even pay more than $200 for couch when I bought it. It really puts things in perspective. They must just be scalping the GoodWills around Portland and spiking up the prices for shit, overpriced stuff. There were too many shirts that were hella stained and they were selling them for $20+? This store really has the audacity to call itself "vintage." It's just an overpriced junk store. read more

This is a large vintage/antiques mall, carrying items by many sellers. It leans more toward vintage, with a strong emphasis on clothing, in particular costumes. Like A LOT of costumes. Which is super fun, actually, but does limit its usefulness, somewhat. Prices were high (to me), as they tend to be at antique shops. Some areas did have markdowns, and there were some specially priced pieces of clothing outside at the entrance. I did not find anything tempting, but I also did not spend much time searching, and we all know that is a requirement at this variety of business. If you're a dude, you are in luck. Unlike many vintage shops around town this place has loads of stuff for men. Clothing, shoes and accessories are mostly organized by era. Same goes for the organization of the smaller women's section. Costumes too are organized by type. There's a whole section of buccaneer/pirate costumes, disco costumes, 1920's costumes, pretty much you name it, they have the costumes. Prices are about what you would expect for vintage. You'll notice there are two prices on each ticket: one is the rental price the other is the sale price. You'll also probably notice that the employees are rather ambivalent about your presence in the store. No hello or any sort of acknowledgment was given. However if you ask for something they do give an adequate response. Take a look at the roof if you ever go in or drive by; what's up with those gargoyles? P.S. They also have a pretty good selection of men's hats and glasses for all. You can sell items here but call ahead and make sure that someone is around who can handle that. Went thrifting here and it was terrible. Everything is super expensive and the service was horrendous. My partner who is a person of color was looking at rings in the basement and they were hovering and eyeballing her the entire time. Then when we went to check out ( we bought a jacket and shirt) the cashier was unbelievable just rude borderline mean. Like they couldn't even be bothered to be even remotely cordial. There are so many sick thrift stores in Portland don't waste your time with this one especially if you are a person of color. read more

This place was really cool! I stopped in randomly while I was walking to get my rental car. As soon as you walk in there's a big old car from the 50s parked outside. There are all sorts of vintage goods here, from photos to household items, clothes, shoes and way more. They also sell Halloween costumes here. Neat spot to get some unique items! read more

Definitely vintage here. I didn't buy anything but did a lot of browsing. The store reminds me of when someone Grandparent gets moved into a retirement center and all there stuff comes here. Tons of classic and retro stuff. Some of it I could see having some value, especially with it being in mint condition like old furniture or clothing but a lot of it seemed overpriced like some old little curios I saw for $35. My mom had the same things she got from a garage sale for like $2 a piece. Lots of other interesting things from across all decades which I thought was a cool trip, but things were all scattered. It kinda reminded me of a big rummage sale where things are just dropped off. At the same time, because of this it makes it more fun to just browse and wander and it may be part of the approach here, perfect for thrifters like myself who like to thoroughly look through things to try and find hidden gems or good deals. though the latter may be tricky to do. What I liked most about this place was the various costumes and accessories you can find here. You really could come here before Halloween or a big costume party/event and find what you need. All kinds of stuff that isn't just your Party city fare, real pilot jackets and scarf like an early 1900 pilot or wigs of all sorts. I even found a cool looking Darth Vader mask. I also liked the vintage suit room. Of course the prices were real high, but if you're looking for real vintage suits probably worn by gentleman from decades ago, complete with hats, ties, shoes and briefcase, it's all here. They even have a traveling trunk (If it's still there). Despite all the cool stuff here, the high prices on lots of the stuff and condition of some of it, I'm not sure it's that much better than a huge garage sale or your favorite thrift shop unless you're looking for your next costume idea. read more

I bought several hundred dollars of clothes at this store. One item that was $55 I mistakenly bought a small and it was too small for my son. I went in the very next day and asked if I could exchange for a larger size. There were plenty there, no reason not to just me exchange. It was clear the person working wanted to but had to call the manager, who said no. I understand final sales but I think there are exceptions and this was one of them. It would have cost them nothing to exchange, and would have made me a customer for life. Instead I will never go back. I see the negetive reviews on the customer service and I have to add my review to that list. read more

idk, this place is such a mixed bag. i have been coming here for years and there are always a few wonderful vintage finds - but the vendors ultimately decide the quality. sometimes you get lucky and strike GOLD. but you also have to keep your wits about you. today a vendor was selling the amazon corset. for $20. literally the original price of the garment on amazon. not vintage, not new, a used and worn SHYMMUO corset for $20. How does that happen in an establishment dedicated to vintage? the salespeople are not friendly, the place is musty... i don't particularly care because i don't shop vintage for service or whatever. it's all about the CLOTHES, and Hollywood has that. plus retail is always a rough job - especially in such a big space - and honestly who cares if their change-room policies vacillate between strict and totally unchecked. it's not Disneyland, they don't have to be nice to you. but i'll reiterate... today a vendor was selling the amazon corset. for $20. so not okay. read more

Called earlier looking for a bald cap, and employee responded curtly in a condescending tone. I came to the store, and asked where I could find them. They replied "We have different vendors. You just have to look" Walk around the whole place. My friend went and asked again and clarified we were looking for bald caps and not ball caps. Employee sent her to the annex without further help, and did not apologize for sending us to walk around the establishment several times. She was disinterested and was sitting around the whole time. To me, it's so unorganized with no designated area for specific type of clothes or styles. They do however; carry a pretty large selection of Halloween costumes and such. Therefore, I guess that is a cool thing. To me it seemed like a swap meet or flee market if you will. And, that's cool too, but it's not at all what I thought it would be, it's either understaffed or one is free to roam endlessly without any customer service. I did see a cute dog though.. Found TWO 1 of a-Kind classic items I adore; and Dale is happy found rows of Tuxedos that DC Malone's and The Jones Band can rent to play Retro Weddings or big stage Casino Gigs. The store has changed and well worth a look! Check items carefully as there may be a No Return Policy. Out front are so many Costume Hats you won't have ANY trouble stepping up your game - to meet people and perhaps claim that free Beer for dressing up at the Greeley or Mock Crest! The #12 bus stops outside and the Glisan 19 and Burnside 20 are an easy walk, so plan dinner and music or a movie, or enjoy a swing and fire at the Zipper? while in the neighborhood. This visit i had just been to The Portland Wellness Center PDX on 35th; and i like a walk after my muscle injections, and a BEER WAS CALLING...so we met for a Happy Hour dinner, then browsed Centaur Music, and the Vintage Costume Shop, before hitting Grocery Outlet, to the east, off Sandy in Hollywood-proper...for easy-cook food and wine to take home.
