Absolutely love this vintage furniture store! The owner has curated a diverse and beautiful collection from several vendors who really do a fabulous job of collecting well cared for furniture and home decor items from the 50s-70s. The last time I was in, there were several walnut dining sets with chairs, one set covered in new turquoise fabric. Several couches, occasional chairs, dressers, coffee tables, floor lamps, mirrors and more, most mid-century. The prices varied depending on price and condition. In addition to furniture, they have home decor items. There were several ice bucket and cocktail glasses a la Madmen that I fell in love with! Colorful glass vases and objects, kitchenware, art and knick knacks. Especially loved a round appetizer tray on a lazy Susan and may have to go back and purchase it! The bright pink building on SE Hawthorne is hard to miss! It's on my way to many of the errands I run so I stop in frequently as the merchandise is always moving. The store is clean, well organized and no funky smell like some vintage shops have. Definitely one of my favorite vintage furniture shops in the Portland area! read more

I'm no antiquer because I can't afford anything, but I love the art of vintage stuff. Not as much as my sister though because she dragged me off all over Portland looking for her treasures. This was my favorite shop of the ones we visited. Love how they had had zones in the store where they would put a "room" together so you could see how the pieces worked together . Found cool Knick knacks like a restaurant hot chocolate warming stove and a roller massager. My favorite item was a built in cabinet with a record player, storage, radio, and speakers all in one. My family grew up with a piece like that and I hated polishing that thing with Old English. Dad finally got rid of it when he bought a new stereo set and now, seeing this set in the store, I see the value of what we thought was old junk. Whoever put each collection together has a beautiful eye and for sure we'll be back when we're back in town. read more

Now this was a very cool little place that completely fits in with the Portland area. Nostalgia. Many nick-nacks and furniture from our past, and alot of that clothing we usually don't want to remember until Halloween rolls around. This was a quirky place with trophies, adding machines, vintage juice glasses and living room sets and robots not for sale (apparently the owner has a thing for them) Paintings and old landscapes, golf clubs and vests, vases and frames. The majority of the items apeared to be from the 60s-80s range. Basically a cool little joint if you are into that sort of thing. I enjoyed it for the kitch value. read more

I've been having a hard time finding a leather couch that I like, so I came here to see what they had. My first impression is that this place has some nice pieces. There were a few people inside, walking around. I didn't know if they were employees or not; they don't have uniforms, or aprons, or even name tags. Nobody greeted me when I walked in, which isn't a big deal. I sat on a couple couches. There was a nice natuzzi leather one that I liked. I didn't see a price on the tag though. This is the point where I fully expected to hear the words "Hello", "How can I help you" or "Have you been helped?", but no, the casually-dressed humans of unknown employment continued to mill about. Fluffing pillows, scooting chairs. Clearly too busy to say hello. So, after being ignored for ten minutes while sitting on their furniture, I left. Pompous and Inconsiderate Staff. Wife and I were excited to explore this store. But when our 4year old daughter was literally holding herself to prevent peeing herself they wouldn't make an exception for their bathroom rule. The nearest business, the bank across the street, however showed some compassion before she made a mess and unlocked their private bathrooms for her. As there was no way she would have made it to the Safeway up the street they sent us to. Won't be coming back. read more

My partner and I bought a dresser a month ago. Really disappointed with the end quality. At the store we took the tag to the front to purchase. It didn't say anything on the tag about being slightly damaged. When we returned to the back to move the dresser is when we noticed the mark. We were really bummed but loved the look of the dresser. When we got home and settled for a bit I noticed my clothes smelling like cigarette smoke. Opening the dresser drawers I now smell smoke. We most likely would have not purchased or asked for a discount due to the damage on the side. Lesson learned for a expensive piece. read more

Vintage Pink is a glorious place for people like me who feel nostalgia for an era they were decades away from being born in. It's a fun place to peruse (albeit, a little pricey) when you long to be in stale-smelling reminiscence. The owners are kind & helpful, not at all pretentious like most vintage store owners have the tendency of reeking of. Plus, they've got a great collection of vintage Playboys. I'd give 'em 3.5 stars if I could. BUT -- & I say this with love -- check the furniture for their origins if you're a stickler for true vintage. I once purchased a "vintage" (as advertised) coffee table here, & it wasn't until I was loading it in my car that I realized it was from Target, circa 2010. It didn't matter too much to me because it was a great table. But I was puzzled to find a modern (i.e., of this era) coffee table in a "vintage" store. If acquiring true vintage is important to you, keep your eyes peeled for distinguishing labels & brands. "Vintage" is such a relative word. read more

I like this place. I agree that it IS a hit-or-miss, but aren't most vintage stores? The smell kind of threw me off a little (imagine old people and dirty feet) but that is also par for the course. I love that this place is so organized. The stuff is nicely laid out, and was a feast for my eyes. Seriously, my eyes were so full by the end I had to burp them. The prices are pretty reasonable. I don't know when this happened, but somehow other people's junk started getting really, really expensive. Not so with this place. There are still some seriously great finds for the cheapest of chicas. Also, and I must say this, the drag queen there is great. This is something that this store offers that most others don't. How many people can say they've looked through old records and scarves with a drag queen? All those years of living in Seattle and San Francisco, and I never had that experience until I went to Vintage Pink. This place definitely embodies the Portland mindset. read more

This is a cross between a vintage clothing store and an antique mall. Things are nicely displayed and easy to access. You never know what you'll find from the 1920's to the 1970's. There's more 50's-60's clothing but for kitchenware and jewelry, there's a wider span of decades. The price is right here, so depends what you'll find...but always worth a browse, and they have their own parking lot which makes it an easy stop over. read more

I've never written a Yelp review before but this was a real bummer. We were excited to get a cool couch from this store. We loved it so much we were OK with spending $1,000+ on it. Now I just feel like we're paying for our naivete. Delivery was fast and easy, but the couch was covered in sand when we got it -- it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned or vacuumed in the store. That was ok, but once we vacuumed it, I had a really intense allergic reaction: hives, wheezing, the whole deal. Knowing that we might not be able to clean this out (cat dander? mold? idk), I called first thing in the morning the next day to see if we could return the piece (an exception to the final sale rule), I was told no exception and to "put it outside to air out" if it was bothering me and resell on craigslist. We even offered to take a U-Haul ourselves out to the store to return it. Nope. I know vintage furniture comes with caveats but this was honestly a bit extreme. An asthmatic allergy attack during the peak of a pandemic seems like enough for maybe a little room for error or empathy literally less than 24 hours after we bought it. Should we have done our due diligence? Maybe? But we didn't know to shove our faces into the couch with masks on and wait for a rash as a pre-requisite for buying from a nicely curated shop. There's no way we can resell this for the amount we paid outside of that context -- the premium you pay at these kinds of stores is for someone to help you navigate buying used furniture. Anything less is just a ripoff, and I suppose we should have known. The owners of this shop are essentially asking us to forfeit hundreds of dollars (if not the full price of this piece) because we failed to notice (while wearing masks) that it would make me sick. So no, probably wouldn't shop here again. read more

Like Demetri Martin, I understand the importance of chairs. You can sit on them. You can eat Cheetos and watch the Kentucky Derby on the TV while sitting on chairs. You can even fall asleep in a chair while eating Cheetos as the Kentucky Derby rages for all of two minutes on the screen, but only if you're awesome. And right now, I am in love with a chair at Vintage Pink. It's a recliner made of black leather with easy integration capabilities into any decorative scheme (even poor, post-grad chic). It's so comfortable that the chair has already built up a following of people who lead other people into the store to sit on the chair, watch the seated person's eyes loll back into his or her skull in total bliss, and exclaim, "See! I told you!" Hot damn, I want this chair so much I'd consider trading my child for it. However, I work in social services and this transaction would get me arrested. Luckily for me, I have no children. Less fortunately, the price that Vintage Pink is selling the recliner for is a bit steep for my liking and, as hard as I work my inner interior designer, I can't think of a way to shove another seating device into my crowded one-bedroom apartment. It'd be an irresponsible purchase, almost on the same level as Victorian peacoats in the summer and cocaine. But it seriously sends me into the third stage of grief to think about someone else taking that chair home. So, I'm going to flat-out lie: Do not go to Vintage Pink. You will find nothing there that you will desire in the slightest. No shelves of records, no retro Playboys editions, no adorable dresses, no cowboy boots with that worldly wrinkle to them, no 1980s-era collector's item Portland Trailblazers glasses, and absolutely no furniture that will infiltrate your daydreams the way you abruptly remember what your first boyfriend smelled like even though you haven't thought about him in years. Nor is the store staffed with people who have an obvious affinity for everything old and gaudy and rare. Most pertinently, Vintage Pink does not have chairs. None. This is the kind of store that defines "hit or miss." But those, ladies and gents, are the stores I love the most. I love a good hunt. I love a good dig. If you can smooosh a hunt AND a dig in the same outing, you have a happy stephy. And so smiles were in full effect when we popped in here on a whim. Section after section of really cool retro furniture and house accessories like thermoses, ash trays, vases, typewriters, along with rack after rack of vintage clothing. It is pretty big and has lots of stuff, but besides a chair and some knick knacks, I didn't see anything that I loved, and the chair was already sold and sitting out like a damned tease. Plus, the prices were a little higher than I am used to at this kind of establishment, so it just didn't seem that awesome to me. It is cute the way they stage living rooms, bedrooms, offices with all the necessary furniture. For used, vintage shopping, like a garage sale in a store, I would choose Village Merchants any day. This place is a total and complete RIPOFF. If you want to pay a 600% markup for something you can buy at Goodwill, then by all means go crazy at Vintage Pink. I was looking for a simple, foldable chair that I could use for when I have guests over. I spotted a cute, beige foldable chair out front on display. The only tag I saw on it was from Goodwill that said $4.99. Well, when I asked one of the employees how much the chair was, they said $29. Are you f'n kidding me???? They then said the sticker wasn't supposed to be on there and that I shouldn't have seen it. Tacky, tacky, tacky. I will never step foot in this place again and I urge you not to either. read more

Pros: Good selection of merchandise, nicely organized, fun to look through, plenty of spots to sit and rest if you're gimpy like me. When I first began visiting this place 3 years ago, prices were pretty fair. BUT...here come the cons: Prices have gone up recently, to the point that I can't afford to shop here anymore. I think Vintage PInk has gone from a thrift store with smattering of higher-priced collectibles, to a high-priced collectibles specialty store. What's worse, as other reivewers have said, is some of the stuff isn't really collectible, it's just older. Shop carefully. There are deals to be had here, but you need to know what you're looking at. I've found some fantastic deals and some really fun decor at Vintage Pink. My one memorable heartbreak is the pair of boots that were $85.......EIGHTY FIVE.....for used boots that needed to be resoled. Sure, brand name, real leather.......but for $15 more I can just buy new ones, right? I love ya, Vintage Pink, and I'd give you 5 stars if you'd bring your prices back down to a reasonable level. read more

This place is great. A great selection of 50s-70s furniture, decorations from another world, and clothes from who knows where/when. The records alone are worth a trip to Vintage Pink. The people working there are nice -- accommodation but not suffocating -- and the space is big and allows for a wide selection of things. I'm disappointed that the seller of a particular gorgeous green couch that was damaged wouldn't take my offer, but hey, whatcha gonna do? I didn't find what I was looking for here, but the prices were awesome and there were some cool things I eyeballed. The formica table up front was in great condition and selling for a steal. My husband found a kick-ass Star Tours (don't ask) glass mug from 1986 to add to his ever-growing collection...only $6. Still, a lot of the stuff I saw in here just looked like junk, which is cool, cuz one man's junk...you know. The staff seemed friendly and helpful enough, too. The reason I'm taking off 2 stars is the incredibly irritating, shitty techno music that nearly made me feel rushed to leave before a headache ensued. Don't get me wrong, I was raving in 1994 (glitter and all) and I like all kinds of techno. Maybe I'm just a snob about the music, but damn...this was some crappy hard-house from Germany or something and it was so LOUD, I was really distracted and just wanted to get the hell out of Pink. Perhaps you guys could turn down the volume a little and play some decent house, like Rabbit in the Moon or Digweed instead? Just a suggestion. Vintage Pink has a nice selection of vintage goodies, mainly from the 60s-90s. You can find dishes, furniture, old Playboys, a smattering of jewelry and clothing. The prices are very good. Some folks might call this a thrift shop - the clothing I've purchased hasn't been cleaned beforehand but the prices reflect that. I like Vintage Pink but just can't give it more than two stars because it smells...dank or dirty. Not just slightly musty, like you might expect.at a store with old furniture. After being in Portland for a few days, it become very evident to me that you can pretty much throw a stone in any direction and chances are, you've broken the window to some random vintage shop. Now, is this necessarily a bad thing? No. Are some of them interesting to look through, even if you aren't necessarily heavily into the whole buying a second hand vintage couch thing? Yes. This is where Vintage Pink comes in. As I strolled up Hawthorne, exploring the city that I would soon be living in, I came across Vintage Pink, and intrigued decided to take a look inside, expecting to find a musty shop full of junk. To my surprise, Vintage Pink was bright, quirky, and fun. In addition, it felt clean, and well maintained, something I feel that is often lacking in vintage stores by nature. As I strolled around the store, I was greeted by all kinds of different, quirky, vintage items such as cameras, neat looking lamps, and even some pretty crazy beds and couches that looked like they were pulled right out of some sort of seventies love shack. When all was said and done, I did leave Vintage Pink empty handed, but that was more due to the fact that I had no way of transporting anything home, than it was to not finding anything worth buying. For those who have any interest in things vintage, I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Great location, easy to get to and some of the most awesome vintage pieces I have seen in a long time. Prices are actually pretty good on most stuff. It is not swap meet junk, most stuff here is in good shape, so it priced accordingly. When I walked in however the "staff" was less than friendly. They were at the door when I walked in and I smiled, but I got totally blank stares back. No hi or welcome or anything. There were a few people obviously shopping and the two gals there never left the counter. Never smiled either. Won't deter me though. If I really want something I will still buy it. read more

I've been into Vintage Pink on multiple occasions, but have always walked out empty handed. A combination of not needing what most of the inventory has to offer, which is furniture, and lack of really good vintage clothing. Most home decor items are from the 60s and 70s, which just isn't my bag, but still loads of fun. In terms of clothing, you'll be hard pressed to find much that is earlier than the 60s. And some dealers appear not to know what vintage is, or what decent dealer practice is. One dealer had a faux blood stained slutty nurse costume that is still available on-line AND the dealer had left the $4.99 Goodwill price tag on it. Staff is hit or miss. Some are very nice and upbeat, while you'll be lucky to get a "Hi" out of some. Prices are moderate to high. You won't find any major scores on the furniture. Overall, only a need to visit if you're moving and need furniture. read more

Well I remember reading poor reviews of this place at one point but perhaps that was before the ownership changed. I did a lot of furniture shopping when I first moved to Portland and while I try as often as possible to get free furniture, sometimes you need to spend a little cash. I wanted a great couch, and I was willing to spend some dough. I went to many places, such as Lounge Lizard, Disco to Deco, Really Good Stuff, and another vintage shop on Hawthorne (the name escapes me currently) and they all had cool stuff at very high prices. I checked Vintage Pink last because it had poor reviews on Yelp, but I'm glad to see that there's a new Yelp page for a new Vintage Pink with new owners. I went to vintage pink and found that they not only had the BEST selection of the places I went, but also the LOWEST PRICES of all of the cool vintage shops. I found a super long, stylin', orange couch with extremely comfortable cushions. Makes my bed jealous. In addition, the owners were very nice and delivered it for me. Good people, man. So, along with Lounge Lizard (http://www.yelp.com/biz/lounge-lizard-portland#hrid:Mi5uhdFB9OJteXPd0_IKfw) a couple blocks to the west, Vintage Pink make a powerful one-two punch of cool vintage "furniture and more" shops. If you check one out you may as well stroll down and browse the other as well, they're that close, and with the ever changing inventory at both places you never really know what you might find. Comparing the two I'd say the prices looked a little higher at Pink, and I preferred much of the furniture/furnishings at LL - BUT Pink carried a much wider selection of non-furniture vintage merchandise - clothes, glasses and tableware, board games, magazines (of the porn and non-porn variety) - so it's probably the better bet for browsing if you're not looking for a sofa, dinette set, or barcalounger. Basically, LL is more like a retro home furnishings store, whereas Pink comes off more like time traveling flea market. Pink is also in a larger space, so while you can see most everything there is to see at LL in just a few minutes, Pink takes some serious browsing to see it all. Vintage Pink is definitely worth a look if you're into mid-century fashion and memorabilia. read more

Yeah, I did give it 5 stars. First of all, the store is HUGE. You can basically have something in mind that you'd like to find, and if you look hard enough, you'll find it. And you can really look, and look and look and look. Hopefully you'll be looking for the dining room table that reminds you of your grandma's house or an original lava lamp, because when they say vintage, they mean it. Nothing in this place is newer than 1985. We needed a couch when we got here about a month ago, and luckily stumbled upon this store; and got a gold 3-piece sectional couch (c. 1965) for $150 bucks! They also worked with us on the price. Vintage Pink is full of interesting pieces of furniture, jewelry, clothes, decor... And most things are cute, well taken care of, and reasonably priced. You could spend hours inside looking around. I give it an A+! read more

This store has tons of fantastic stuff for you home, but it does take a bit of digging to find something at a decent price. I had my eye on an old school chair for my apartment and thought the $36 price was too steep. I waited a few weeks and stopped in again to find the price dropped to $27. I also picked up a bright yellow rotary phone for $24 which they were nice enough to test for me in the store. It's now one of my favorite things in our home. Staff is pretty friendly, and they even have a shop dog that always seems to be there whenever I stop by. Also if you're into globes, they always seem to have a big selection at a decent prices. Reading the reviews, made me think about how, yes, they didn't greet me as soon as I came in, however the woman working there that day was super friendly and super playful. She gladly answered questions regarding a piece that I was very interested in and then told me to sleep on it. Sure enough I woke up the next day I went back and bought it. I must have hung around for another 10-15 minutes afterwards, while we chatted about random things. One example of the many jokes that were being made was about the fact that she wasn't allowed to say "dude" because she was in her mid 60's where as I could because I'm 24. read more

So I will say that had I written a review a year and a half ago I would have given more stars. I bought this Crazy.Awesome beautiful 40's vintage dresser that is perfect in my daughter's room. I was quite pregnant at the time and the staff working there were really great in helping me get the dresser out and into my Jeep. I never could have done it on my own. BUT (to be fair I haven't been into the store in a while, only looked though all the inventory postings for both vintage and modern) and I'm SHOCKED at the prices. Holy price increases, batman. I don't remember how much I paid for my dresser but I remember thinking it was an appropriate price. But while looking through the listings I kept thinking to myself, who do these people think they are, Crate & Barrel? Seriously, way overpriced stuff on here. It makes me completely uninterested in driving all the way out to SE Hawthorne to look around. I really doubt I would be walking out with anything.
