Friday Spaghetti with Sausage, Peppers & onions (FOR TAKE OUT ONLY - NOT AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY)
    Carolyn L.

Tired and hangry from a long day at work. I'm craving for good old spaghetti. That's my comfort food. Decided to stop in. It's pretty quiet in the dining area for a Friday..However, their take out is extremely busy. Cooper was my waiter. He's nice with great customer service and check on me often. I ordered the special: which is the pepper and onions with spaghetti sauce. Comes with two Italian sausages and filled with peppers and onions. And because it's a special., The portion was perfect for me for dinner. I included the house salad with ranch which is ok. You can tell salads are NOT their speciality. Now do understand, this restaurant do not serve beer or any alcohol. I was looking forward to a beer after a long day.. But that's ok. I can't have it all. Same as my previous visits. Food are great. But since I dined in. It was even better. I walked away paying $15 for dinner. And honestly, I can't tell you when was the last time I paid that for a sit down dinner. So I'll definitely be back.

We love eating here! My husband loves all their specialty pizzas and I'm obsessed with the gluten free crust! You can't beat a $9 pizza with 3 toppings. The staff is always super nice and they play Christian music too! Love supporting this local business!

Went here about 2-3 weeks ago. We were 11 people. It was Friday and place was semi-busy. We were seated in 10 minutes of reaching there. Garlic bread is a must order here. Our server was great and took care of us with great passion. Food is fairly priced. Taste is good too. The only con would be their desert from my perspective, but its still good. Overall bill was around $100-120 ball park. Overall 4.3/5 stars.

I stopped by for just a slice of pizza and soda and found they had a lunch special that saved me money. They treated me well and brought my slice out to me because I decided to sit outside and enjoy the day. The pepperoni slice was very big and very delicious.

Great food and nice casual atmosphere! Service was good too! Their dough also tasted very fresh.

Coming from NY we are picky pizza eaters, and they do it right. Thin crust, big slices, and amazing flavors. We've found if we want to eat in we call ahead and place our order about 25min before we get there. They are BUSY so it's worth calling ahead, especially if you have young and hungry/impatient kids. Pepperoni was a solid thin slice fold it over or curve it slice. Not much sauce, cheese and what tastes like authentic pepperoni not that bulk Hormel type. Bbq chicken has that sweet bbq that I like. Just the right amount of bbq and a healthy portion of chicken. Counter service - she was helpful and polite. The person cleaning the tables also very polite and quick to serve. Susan M joined me for dinner Sat evening at 530p. We shared the calamari, WAY too much breading, diminished the flavor, just not good. Susan had the Lasagna, she said it was very good and good portion so she got a 'go' box. I had the salmon which was a nice size portion. Not too keen on the broccolini side but the flavor was good. The service from Heidy was good, the kitchen was slow getting our appetizer out, almost 10 minutes waiting on it. Our server came out THREE times to tell us the calamari would be out any minute. It WAS NOT! The BIG issue for me was parking. The 'go Ballantyne' website indicates Valet parking is available. It is NOT! Very misleading and frustrating when you see it in writing and then show up and learn it's not available. Then you have to find and figure out the parking situation. The Hostess at the restaurant said they HAD Valet at one time, but no longer. I also thought the ambience was NOT true to how it's described. Very LOUD, dudes in cut off jeans and tee shirts, kids running around unattended and parents chasing them. We had a group of ladies next to our 'two top' who were loud & cackaling through our entire meal. NOT what I call 'family hospitality'. This place is exactly the reason why I try to avoid the large FRANCHISE restaurants. Then the bill was so HIGH, way more than what is reasonable for what we had, OVER $80.00 not including tip, a diet coke was $4.75, they charge MORE for the exact same item on the dinner menu than the lunch menu, what's that about? This is a Franchise owned by the Cheese Cake Factory so in my opinion, they push 'the MARKETING' message rather than deliver on the substance which is real service, quality food and excellent atmosphere. Got to PAY that high rent at the BOWL. They gave me NO reason to return and I WON'T be returning and recommend you find other options for Italian. It's all hype and little substance. There are so many other independently owned Italian options in the area that offer everything and more than this place.

We made a reservation because we weren't sure how crowded it would be on a Saturday night. Reservations weren't really necessary as the place was not busy. We weren't sure the dress code either, hard to gather from their website. We went business casual but we could have just done in our Saturday afternoon casual as it's not upscale but neighborhood comfortable. The decor is honestly pretty bland. Everything was just gray and there were no pops of color anywhere. The lighting was cool and the wine wall was nice but it just didn't have much character. We were greeted quickly by our server who was polite but not overly friendly. She gave us the drink specials and we got started with a few beers. A runner brought a basket of warm bread and butter which is always a nice start. We ordered the garlic bread and the zucchini fritti for appetizers. They came out quickly and presented nicely. The garlic cheese bread wasn't very garlicky, had more of a rosemary flavor so it wasn't our favorite. The zucchini was shaved and had a nice flavor. Because it was so small it was kind of hard to eat. I like my zucchini with some ranch and we asked for some and kind of got a weird reception from the kitchen staff. I mean we are in the south people - ranch is a staple! For entrees we tried a few different things. We had the white pizza, the chicken francese, the chicken crusted Romano, and the sliced beef rib cut. All the dishes came out warm and with nice presentation. The pizza was the most lackluster. It was just average and did not have much flavor. The crusted chicken Romano was a highlight with a nice flavor from the vodka sauce. The other two dishes tasted good but were nothing amazing. The mashed potatoes were the best side dish. The roasted potatoes were a bit on the burnt side and lacked any real seasoning. We had an overall pleasant experience but will not rush back to this spot. If you are in the neighborhood I'm sure it's convenient but if you want a great Italian meal this would not be my recommendation.

I've always been willing to pay a premium for great pizza, but my most recent experience was unacceptable given the prices they charge. First, the pizza here is extremely expensive--easily double what many other pizza places charge. For those prices, I expect accuracy and quality, but neither was delivered. I ordered two small pizzas for pickup, and both were made incorrectly. One was a vodka pesto pizza, and they completely left off the pesto--the main reason I ordered that particular pizza in the first place. On the second pizza, I paid an additional $3.99 for sweet peppers on a small pizza, and received only four tiny pieces of pepper. That felt like a complete rip-off. To make matters worse, I specifically requested both pizzas be cooked "well done," and neither one was. In fact, they seemed undercooked and soggy. When you're charging premium prices, customers should receive exactly what they ordered and have reasonable expectations that special requests will be followed. I've enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but this experience was incredibly disappointing and makes it hard to justify ordering from them again.
