Monday and wanted a pastrami grinder. Most non chain places closed... even some saying they are open on Yelp. Gotta love the 'rona. Anyhoo, my guy said that this place is very good. I'm all for it. When folks speak of little hole-in-the-wall places... this is what they are speaking of. For me, we ordered a pastrami grinder with cheese, pickles, lettuce, mayo and mustard. My guy got a meatball, sausage with sauce and cheese. While we were waiting two separate locals came in. What made it great was the guy was talking to the owner and said that he'd been coming for over 30 years and his wife when she was pregnant wanted a grinder every day for six months! That child now has their own kids! The other patron apologized for being in her pj's. She stated that she's been coming there for years also. I didn't get pictures of our grinders, it was late and I was too hangry! It was REALLY good. If you're looking for beautiful atmosphere with sit down table service, it's not here. Ordered delivery a day ahead. The order arrived exactly when it was supposed to and piping hot. The crowd loved every bite. The bacon was particularly tasty and the portions generous. Staff is very nice, sweet people local family owned. They serve this thing called the "chicken stir", I get it every time I'm in town. it's fucking fantastic! I read the reviews and so many people were raving about their pizza. I ordered a basic cheese pizza, nothing special added to it. When I brought the pizza home, most of the cheese was focused on the center of the pizza, not much near the crust area, that was pretty dry with just dough and a little sauce. The taste of the sauce was more on the bitter side. Nothing wrong with it, but if you prefer a sweeter type of sauce, this is not the sauce for you. When I picked the pizza up, I noticed a calzone they just removed from the oven, it looked really good. I will try this place again, just not for the pizza. read more

We are new to the area and dined inside this little place this week and had a very nice time visiting with just about the entire staff. The staff works hard and is very nice, pleasant, kind and wants and tries to make diners happy and they succeed at that. If you can find a place more friendly and generous than this place, please be honest and let me know. Because quite frankly, these people succeed at doing very well at making you feel welcome in their food eating establishment. In regards to the pizza, it is very good with a nice crust which is NOT bland or boring. It is tasty and they have a large selection of toppings to choose from. We loved the pizza and it is the best so far in West Springfield, MA and we are residents of West Springfield, MA and we love it here. They also have fresh made Pita Bread and many other food items to choose from. This is a family owned business and they have been in business for 26 years, so, they are doing something correctly! Understand? There was a constant of line of people arriving and taking out pizzas and other food items to go and to return to their homes. A good and healthy sign of a thriving and successful eating establishment. There is plenty of parking outside in this small strip center located directly off of the main road and it is fairly easy to find on GPS. We will definitely be eating here at least 1 to 2 times per month for our "fix of pizza". They also have plenty of soda cans and bottles to choose from that cost like $1. The price of the pizza was reasonable and it had a nice sweet tomato sauce. All ingredients in our pizza were fresh and tasted very good. Village pizza is the best tasting pizza in the area hands down. Me and my circle of friends have tried all the local pizzas in Westfield and West Springfield and Village Pizza is our unanimous choice for pizza. The pizza consistently has the tastiest dough and toppings; every time. I have been going here for my pizza for about 3 years and not one time have I been let down. As for the other review calling the workers here obnoxious foreigners, they are just annoyed that they cant understand the workers. Nobody comes here to eat, so this should not be an issue. The place is as clean as most pizza joints that I have been to so no issue there. I have found the manager of the place to be a super cool guy who is genuinely nice without the fake smile. I live close by, so when I want pizza I come here. I don't know why I keep on coming back because this place sucks. I don't know who owns it, but all the workers are obnoxious foreigners (don't know how to say that without sounding like a racist). They scream at each other in a foreign language instead of talking, and once I saw one of them spit on the floor. Total disregard for customers, you would think they would quiet down and at least appear to appreciate the little business they do get. I would not be surprised if they run an illegal operation under the cover of selling pizza (I'm half joking of course). disclaimer----im a foreigner too, so im not being mean to them in spite. Great Pizza for the area. Most local pizza is leathery and all around generic tasting. Village Pizza breaks this trend. Their crust is soft and buttery. They clearly use quality cheese and the sauce is done right (understated and cooked on the cust). read more

Very upset with this place at the moment! Usually, I am a fan of their food, but I ordered 10 boneless wings and they came to my door with only five + a half eaten one. Another review talked about chaos and employees yelling at each other... this is accurate. But somehow this adds character. The place was busy, the person taking orders was very nice, and the grinder I had was very good. You have to set your expectations appropriately and note that your paying just 8 bucks for a 16" sub. Pizza is great every time we go. One down side is the workers always yelling!
