John's has changed owners again recently but their menu and food prep stay the same. I have gotten to know the owners once again and these are the people you want cooking your food. They cook with love and are very caring people. I'm sad to see the last owners go but do welcome the new owners with open arms. We have become more then just friends, we've become family!! This was some of the cheapest pizza I've ever had, and I don't mean price-wise. The ingredients were awful, despite the pizza costing almost MORE than it would in New Haven. The service sucked, they let the pizza sit in a box. Didn't bother letting us know it was even done. The atmosphere was nice inside, but the place was empty on a Friday night (and I understand exactly why). It seems as though this once-great Italian restaurant has been sold to some Southeast Asian folks whose only decently made dish is Chicken Marsala. If you want rubbery lukewarm pizza at an exorbitant price, this is your place. If not, I suggest looking elsewhere. Oh, and as a side-note, the business is now using AI to generate pictures of pizzas they didn't cook, and uploading them to yelp. It's truly disappointing, but not unexpected. Pizza was ok but run of the mill, wings were decent and salad haven't eaten yet but looks good. Service was fast on delivery and well done. Didn't dine in, so ambiance not known. Cost $60- for all +tip. Even though it's 3 stars it does the trick just cost is a factor. read more

Pizza sucked tonight . Got a combo pie well and the meat was gross . Cheap bottom of the barrel crap. Id say 73/27 but they may be rocking worse . All gristle and fat in fact I almost cracked a tooth off of it . Really off putting after the same thing happened on consecutive slices as well. Never a good sign .. but more was to come .. Sauce is bottom tier definitely is not the same as before . Plain . Boring . No seasonings to be found . I believe Chef Boyardee would certainly give them a run for their money . . Horrible these new owners boasting ever so bluntly that they are under new ownership that they are only tarnishing the reputations of the former owners . Pizza a few years back was actually very good. Id wager it was right in the fight with Red Rose . Now .. i don't know if it could even compete with 7/11. 2.6/10. I speak only for the pizza we used to get on a fairly regular basis ( 10-12 times a year ) here but it is not longer quality . Bad ingredients to make up for a poor bottom dollar/profit . Once you knock the quality of the product to make a buck you lost my business. Cheers I gave you two stars because the fellow cashing me out was actually personable and friendly . They doesn't let you off the hook .. you need to Do better for yourselves and the City of Chicopee and your customers . I used to regularly go to John's years ago. It was always packed on a Friday night. Usually a pain to find parking. I was kind of shocked when I pulled into a parking lot with only 2 other cars in it. I noticed an under new management sign as I walked in. The Dining room was empty. I got chicken broccoli alfredo to go, which had always been one of their best dishes. The salad I got was nice and fresh. That was the best part of the meal. The Alfredo sauce was very blah, no seasoning, like wallpaper paste and the chicken just didn't taste fresh. Didn't have much taste at all. John's also used to have the most awesome fresh baked bread and butter, I got a small loaf of not particularly fresh garlic bread with again the least flavor garlic butter I ever tasted.The guy at the counter was very friendly, but the food was not good. And their chicken and broccoli Alfredo used to be outstanding under the previous owners. I won't be returning to John's Pizza unfortunately. read more

I have enjoyed the cuisine of John's Pizzeria twice while temporarily working in Chicopee. The first time was an online lunch order for pick up. The restaurant was full during lunch which was a good sign. Service was swift and attentive. I even received a large side order of marinara requested. The hot eggplant parm sub was delicious and very large size also. It was large enough to split into a separate meal later. I got out of work early one day during the week and came in for an early dinner. I was the only one in the restaurant; service was definitely polite and attentive. I had the calamari linguine with spicy marinara and it was a fabulous meal enjoyed with salad and bread service. Again, the portion size was enormous so I enjoyed seconds for dinner next day. While I was the only one dining at the time, the phones were constantly ringing off the hook with delivery and pick up orders. Most definitely a gem in the Chicopee area worthwhile for a delicious Italian meal enjoyed by the locals. I will be back again and again before my work assignment is finished. read more

The employees are also very kind. Please never update your decor! I'm in my 30's & I've been eating at John's since I was a child. I love walking in & seeing that your decor is exactly the same! Came here on 9/11 at about 6:45pm with a friend. We walked in and saw we were the only POC which was fine but we began to get strange looks. All tables were taken so we stood there waiting for one of the waiters to come around so we could ask about seating. A short lady came by after a few minutes of standing and was pretty pleasant. She informed us there would be a wait which was fine, once we sat down our waitress never acknowledged us, she walked by our table multiple times and made eye contact with us but didn't say a word... we sat for about 15 minutes before leaving! This is absolutely unacceptable! Worst customer service, I will say it was due to our skin color because everyone else received great service from what I seen. What a pleasure it is to write a review about this little Chicopee hidden gem. Their pizza is very good and they will make it a thin crust upon your request. Pizza is all about quality of ingredients and my discussions with John in the kitchen leave no doubt in my mind on that score. The sauce is spot on, his toppings and mozzarella cheese are fresh and high quality, the pizza bottom crust is firm and nicely cooked. This is an all round, very good pie. Today, I had his calamari and linguini with spicy red sauce, the calamari was firm but not rubbery or tough and perfectly cooked in my opinion. The linguine was a perfect al dente and the sauce made from San Marzano tomatoes was delightful and not overly spicy. The price of $14.95 was a true value based on the quality, and a very good glass of house Chianti was only $4.50. Luncheon specials are $5.95, unheard of, his dinner menu is very reasonably priced as noted above. This place is a winner and for those seeking an authentic Southern Italian experience, this place should be on your dashboard. read more

Do yourself a favor, get off your couch, do not order take out ,dine in. Anyone who knows anything about anything knows this kind of food is cooked with love and must not be put in Styrofoam containers. I ABSOLUTELY love the pasta faggioli soup. I really enjoy Johns they are a true Italian pizza restaurant. I wish i had pictures but i will update next time. The pizza is a true stone oven crust sometimes a little too crisp for some but i love the burnt areas. They have an amazing hot sausage grinder as well. I will do another review update very soon. Delivery came right on time they even called before to ensure the address. Everyone at the party kept raving about the white pizza ( chicken and broccoli) and I loved the meat lovers. Delivery was on time. We got 16 inch barbecue pizza for a group of friends and we could only finish about two slices. The pizza was inedible. There was no flavor at all, we thought there was a mistake and we did not get barbecue. The chicken was poor quality. The pizza was missing something so adding pepper flakes was necessary - it was a white pizza with just bbq chicken. Exactly what the name says but most places put bbq sauce instead of marinara and all over the pie. I recommend this place to anyone in the area.
