We LOVED this place. It had very hip shoes, we got attentive service and the guy running the place was really nice. The no sales tax plus the fact that some of the shoes were on sale lured me in. I ended up dropping $250, $105 for a pair of cool green distressed Fluevogs, and $150 for a pair of wild ass powder blue MBT's. I also got my sister a little cool hand purse. My friend got a really nice pair of New Zealand Hurraches. I have been wearing the same shoes for years, so now I have some funky new ones. read more

I ordered a $200 pair of shoes by mail. They arrived and I found that the left and right shoes did not match each other. Village Shoes could have: - paid for the return shipping and sent a replacement pair that matched or - paid for the return shipping and given me a refund or -offered me a partial refund reflecting the fact that they had sent me defective goods but instead they insisted that the mismatched shoes were fine and made me pay for return shipping and then refunded only the cost of the shoes, leaving me without the shoes that I wanted in the first place. The whole ridiculous experience cost everyone involved money and time, and frankly made no sense. Unless they just don't care about keeping customers. read more

I can't believe I forgot to write a review of this place! This was by far the best shoe store we visited in Ashland. It had an awesome selection of shoes, and wonderful service. The girl who helped me was patient, and brought out a bunch of shoes. Even helped me decide which pair to get (a great pair of El Naturalista heels). They also had some wonderful shoes on sale (sadly, a pair of John Fluevog's were not avail in my size -- they were only $60! In a time of great deals to be had buying on the internet a retail store needs to be a special place to shop. Zappos and other online shoe stores make it very easy to shop from the comfort of your own home, but if you do you miss experiencing the unique atmospheres of our lovely local shops. Village Shoes in Ashland, Oregon is a beautiful store, with helpful and friendly sales people, great products, and good sales. Stacey the owner is really nice and has perks that make you feel appreciated. And there is just something fun and statisfying about shopping in a pretty store, engaging in conversation, and walking out with nice merchandise. It has more soul than pushing the purchase button on a website. I love shopping at Village Shoes, because they help me to have a good experience whether I end up buying something or not. read more

I visit this store every year! Unique and cool shoes with a great staff. I recently had a problem with one of the boots I bought. Loved the boots, and was upset that they were ruined. I called the store and told Stacey the problem I was having. She called the supplier and got me a new pair!!!! This is a must stop for anyone in the area! read more

Try finding Fluevogs, Wonder Shoes and Fly London in one place, even in L.A.. Not gonna happen. Village Shoes has them all, and while the prices are not for the faint of heart, a well-stocked sale section offers great deals for out-of-season styles. Our gamine-faced associate catered to our every whim and knew the makers inside and out, recommending tighter for leather which will stretch over time, and well-apprised with the narrowness, width of certain shoe houses. Before I walked into this store I stated I didn't need anymore shoes. Because I love shoes and am weak when around cute ones, I had to buy just one more pair. Thier selection runs the gamut from reasonably priced sale items to far more expensive shoes (although not entirely high end). The shoes are not cheap, but are great quality and chosen well. I appreciate that they feature local shoemakers and other hand-crafted shoes. I walked into this store and saw a great selection of shoes. But, the staff was not one bit interested in helping me. When I asked a question about the shoes, it was clear that they didn't know much about the products they were selling. The sales person was actually rude to me because she didn't know the answer. I left without buying and wondered if the owner of the store was aware of the poor customer service. I see other reviews indicating that I was not the only one to think this way. read more

Stopped in to buy two pairs of shoes last week. As I was paying, the saleswoman asked if I need a bag and since I already had a shopping bag with me I said no thank you. Both pairs of shoes wouldn't fit inside the bag with the shoe boxes so the saleswoman said she could recycle the boxes for me. I thanked her and left. The next day I tried to return one pair of shoes and was told no because there was no box to go with the shoes. It would have been very nice to know that at the time of purchase when the store offered to recycle the boxes. So now I'm stuck, no store credit, no satisfaction, and shoes (expensive) that I can't wear! read more

I have visited Village shoes several times and agree with many of the other posts that they have the best shoe selection in town. However, they do not back up the products they sell and according the the sales woman the actual manufacturers of the products they carry do not back up their own products. Now I am stuck with $150 pair for leather shoes that are completely falling apart after minimal use and can no longer be worn. Not impressed! read more
