This is a restaurant. I usually forget about but decided to come here on a Saturday afternoon. I had planned it for months because I wasn't aware that they had happy hour daily from 4 PM to 6 PM. It was just three of us from my dinner group that decided to meet here. I started off with the blood orange Margarita, which was only five dollars because it was happy hour and it was very delicious I love the warm, doughy bread served with a distinct, salty, and flavorful herb-oil dip starts off every meal. I ended up getting two appetizers. I got the lasagna dip and the meatball sliders. Both were equally delicious. When I usually come here, the parking lot is so full, but since we came in the early afternoon, it wasn't bad at all. Gianna with our server and she was very attentive and personable. And she did give good suggestions. Before, if you were doing the happy hour, you would have to sit in the bar area, but now you can sit in the dining area as well which I thought was great. I usually get great food from here. Service: 8/10 they screwed up my order, but fixed it. Food: 2/10 I am only given it 2 out of 10 because the presentation of the food looked perfect. However, my fettuccine with the grilled chicken was lukewarm basically cold. Usually we go on a Sunday and the food is piping hot with flavor just perfect on Sundays. I have never had a bad experience here. I think we are all seeing this big trend happening with the food service and restaurants just not living up to our standards. The only time I feel like I am not duped out of spending good money for food is when we are cruising. It's like you get the best of both worlds on a cruise. At least with Royal Caribbean you do. You may ask me, why didn't you take a picture of the food? Because I was just disappointed because we went in the evening time and not during lunchtime on Sundays. Maybe that was it. We have not been back to Carrabba's for quite some time. We were looking for something different than we usually do for dinner. So, we gave it another shot. My son got the Italian Trio and thought it was very good. The one item that was just OK was the Lasagna. I got the Chicken Marsala. I really wanted the Veal Marsala but was informed, Carrabba's stopped serving veal a few years ago. The chicken was good, but the veal used to be better. The pasta that came with the chicken was outstanding. We all agreed that the bread and Cesar salads were outstanding. The service was really good by a young man that was really attentive. Rare for a chain restaurant but much appreciated. The Ambiance of the restuarant was calm, clean and nice. Nothing special, nothing over the top. Hello, we came late last Wednesday night and we were starving! Off the cuff coming home from BHAM we stopped here. We walked into the restaurant and the smell of Italy was amazing! Ana our waitress was amazing and so kind. We knew closing time was in 90 minutes and she never made us feel rushed!!! I had the Fettuccine Carrabba (Italian white cream sauce with sautee mushrooms and green peas with GRILLED Chicken! Wow! It was amazing! Darren placed some hot Italian bread with herbs and olive oil after we ordered! The next entree was the Lobster Ravioli! Met up with friends for Happy Hour on a recent Saturday. This was my first outing at Carrabba's. Our server was warm & helpful, and checked back with the table exactly the right amount. A manager-type stopped by the table to let us know about some upcoming events (like a wine pairing night). The room was fairly busy, but not so loud that we couldn't have conversation with ease. My friend loved her Blood Orange Margarita ($5) so much she had a second one. I was less lucky with my Limoncello Spritz ($7). It was pretty, but tasted like watery white wine over ice with lemon slices. Would not order again. I'd scoped out the menu's Happy Hour offerings via the restaurant's website and had planned to try their Spinach Arrancini & the Calanrian Wings. Unfortunately, we were told they were out of both! The only other item on the Happy Hour menu I was interested in was the Zucchini Fritte with Roasted Garlic Aioli. A simple dish, prepared to perfection! The zucchini was cut into slender French fry shapes, lightly coasted in (possibly?) panko & lightly fried. The Aioli was the perfect accompaniment. My table mates tried the Lasagne Dip, Metzaluna Fritte & Meatball Sliders. We were all members of the clean plate club. The dining room was clean, comfy & pleasant; Happy Hour menu is not restricted to the bar area, so we were seated at a regular table. Overall, a good experience. I'd absolutely order the Zucchini Fritte again, and look forward to ordering other items to try. read more

Food is always good. Glass of red wine was fine. This is one of my friends favorites in town. We're part of a large group that comes here several times a year on a Sunday. Best thing was they seated us early for a 6 pm slot. Sadly it did not help us. They give us a limited menu with about 6 choices. That's ok but the service was the "pits" this time. They did not assign enough waiters! Our table was served a full hour after the first table of out group! At least we got bread since I told the waitress we had a diabetic and must have food soon! (We did! ) Our neighboring table also waited an hour and never even got bread. They knew 50 were coming way in advance. Limited menu. Kitchen speed was average. It was lack of waiters! I have mixed feelings about Carrabba's. They are rarely a chain I think of anymore, but I would like that to change. I input a curbside order today and utilized my free app reward. This process was smooth, easy and my order was ready at the estimated time given. My order consisted of : Calamari - Surprised that the portion size was larger than I thought it would be. The calamari was pretty good. Lunch Trio - Shrimp scampi, Caesar salad, lentil and sausage soup. This was honestly the worst shrimp scampi I have ever had. It's almost as if there is a thick premade packaged sauce that is heated up and poured over a few shrimp. Would not order this ever again. The bread it comes with is good though. Cesar salad is what one would expect it to be. Lentil soup is very good. I'm also a sucker for lentils so I'm happy this part delivered. Bread - Bread and olive oil were my names in a past life. Never skip this part. The bread comes to you soft and warm with a packet of olive oil and a side of the seasoning. This experience didn't sell me on coming back anytime soon, however, I will try them out again at a later date. read more

My parents and I had such a great time! We went for a Bourbon event and it was great. We sat with several people who loved bourbon just as much as my dad lol. Of course I took photos. The staff was very nice. CJ, the host, was very nice and sweet. Answered any questions we had. It's so refreshing to meet teenagers now that have respect, that have manners, and he definitely did. The food was excellent unfortunately the service was not. I had the trio of chicken and was duly impressed. Not so much that with the restaurant only about 1/8 full it took 25 minutes to be served the bottle of wine that we ordered. Our server was less than vaguely attentive. We had to have others search him out. We had to ask to have our salad and soup bowl removed 10 minutes after our entree arrived. Our entertainment for the evening was watching the hostess and another employee play napkin swatting for about 15 minutes and then they proceeded to play who can make the silliest face for selfies. It took us 90 minutes to eat and pay the bill. Again we ordered within 5 minutes of arriving and the rest was wait time. I will go to the restaurant again just not this one. read more

I had a really good experience overall at Carrabba's off of Highway 280 in Birmingham this weekend with friends when we went for an early dinner. I like how they have a separate gluten-free menu. This is nice to see because many places don't, especially chain restaurants. It has many options and is clearly labeled to make it easy for anyone looking for those options. I ordered the wood-grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and sautéed broccoli, and everything came out hot and fresh. The chicken had a great grilled flavor and was really juicy. The mashed potatoes were creamy, and the broccoli was sautéed just right and had great flavor. It was simple but really good. The portions were also more than enough! The atmosphere was relaxed and charming, the restaurant was very clean, and the service was super friendly. It was a good meal and I will definitely be making a trip back. read more

The portions got smaller the prices went up and they nickel and dime you for anything like extra sauce that your dish was lacking in the first place. This was a big disappointment. First of all, we did a pick up order. When we got there, we signed in and waited. After almost 30 minutes, my friend went in to see about the order and they were oblivious. They said that no one let them know we were out there. Then, proceeded to give us food that had been sitting for at least 39 minutes. No one tried to make it right and proceeded to give us food that was barely look warm when we got home. Brown-stemmed lettuce for my friend, the worst cut peppers I've ever seen (again?), overly thick dressing, paying premium prices for non-premium sides (charged extra for 6 small pieces of not-well-cooked asparagus), and undercooked scallops in what WAS a delicious dish the last time I ordered it. The waitress and the meal stated that the filet dish comes with two sides. Why are we paying extra when it comes with it??? Just wondering. The ambiance is same as always though I've noticed fewer and fewer people eating here... perhaps a direct result of what's going on behind the scenes?? Carrabbas offers a wine dinner every month. It's a 4 or 5 course meal for a set price of $60 to $80 depending on the menu. Every course is paired with a wine. You're seated in groups of 8 or 10. You can come as a single, couple, or group. These wine dinners are spectacular. The menu may include an appetizer, salad, pasta or risotto dish, meat, chicken or fish main course and a decadent dessert! These meals are very generous portions and are not on the regular menu. Every year top Carrabbas chefs from around the country gather to plan out the menus. The wines that are chosen can be themed around a brand, vineyard location or vintner. The dinners start at 6:30 and usually end by 9. They are fun and filling! I strongly recommend treating yourself to one of these dinners. You will NOT be disappointed. read more

I wanted to use my gift card, so I went in to place my order as there was an error while attempting to order online. The hostess took my order and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. Once I arrived after a quick shopping trip in the area, sure enough it was ready. I ordered the Johnny Trio with the 7 oz Sirloin Marsala (temp as requested, medium well), Chicken Bryan (enjoyed the goat cheese and sun-dried tomatoes) and Mezzaluna (needed just a little more sauce) with a Ceasar salad and bread all packaged for travel. I was a little skeptical as I have not been to Carrabba's in years but I really enjoyed my meal. Food was delicious. It all started with our waitress Allie's wine selection. She was very attentive the entire evening. After ordering we each had a salad. My garlic dressing could have used use a stronger garlic taste. The chicken piccata and Jack's signature chicken did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection. We ended with a huge piece of apple Carmel cheese cake to share. We did take advantage of the $10 take an extra entree home. I will be eating eggplant parm and husband has lasagna. Broccoli and bread was packaged up to go, as well. Oh I almost forgot to mention the bread. It is the best sour dough bread around. Dinner last night with my good friend and bridge associate, Linda. Went back to Carrabba's. One reason, I had $15 in rewards to redeem. and we both like the place. But, Worst meal I've ever had there. and I have been many times and usually enjoy it. ordered a special, the gnocchi caprese . I like gnocchi, but these were sticky and pasty and not enough sauce. supposed to have mozzarella and goat cheese. very little mozzarella and I could not find ANY goat cheese. the tomatoes were miniscule and few and barely red with no taste. like canned tomatoes. the fresh basil was fine. I order it with shrimp. only got 5 but they were the only thing on the dish that was good. Happy hour used to be 4-7 now only 4-6. The beer was a rip-off. $7.99 but only a 12 oz draft. we were rushed to place our order. then we were not given any time at all to enjoy our salad and soup before the entrees arrived. got the lasagna $10 take home but they would not give me broccoli as a side for it. Last time I did take home I got salmon and mashed potatoes for $10. read more

Gosh, we haven't been to Carrabba's since 2020, and then it was pick up because of stupid COVID. We used to eat at Carrabba's when we lived in Atlanta and enjoyed it. Today did not disappoint. The food was good, and the service was good. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was very cordial and helpful. I had eggplant and hubby had lasagna. We usually don't eat at chain restaurants, but we were in the area and decided to give it a try. We did not have an appetizer. My husband got chicken soup with his meal, and I got a side salad. I have to say the salad was super fresh...the romaine was as though it has just been picked. I forgot all about Carrabba's being a part of Dine Rewards so I didn't get credit for this visit, but that's okay. We don't go to the restaurants that participate in the Dine Rewards program often enough to take advantage of their rewards. We did at one time when Bonefish was still open in Hoover, but it closed two/three years ago. We will put Carrabba's on our restaurant rotation and try it again in a couple of months. read more

Our Server was excellent tonight! His name is David and he is at the 280 location. My husband and I were out for a celebration meal and really wanted Italian. We stopped at another Italian restaurant and decided that it wasn't the place for us. We drove a lot longer to get to Carrabba's but wow were we ever glad we did. David greeted us with an incredible smile and was so easy going and knowledgeable. He advised us about every question we had. The best part of it all, was his attention to detail. I was in the area and I saw this location was basically across the street from my hotel, so I decided here would be my choice for dinner. After a long day on the road for business, I was considering just getting a pizza and hiding in my hotel room, but this was a close enough option. After an evening shift instacarting and ubereats delivery ,I decided I deserved a cute solo dinner on the patio . I made my commute and was quickly seated on the patio. Mind you it's a humid Saturday evening and I'm sweet as pie, so I have no idea why I thought that was a good idea... within 3 mins I was ATE UP , the bugs devoured my feet . After some time ,my waitress Tee finally found me . By this time ,I had decided on my dish and ordered right away . I decided on what I feel is the best option if your stuck between all the lovely CHICKEN dishes. The Chicken TRIO , Chicken Marsala, chicken Bryan and Pollo Rosa Maria . The entree comes with a soup or salad and choice of side . I opted for a Ceasar salad and garlic mash potatoes. I gathered My things and was seated in a corner booth inside. Shortly after a waitor came and served me sliced bread with herb medley . I don't know what that herb concoction entails however ,I love it so ! The secret to intensifying the flavors of this already delicious herb blend ? Ask for butter . I drizzled olive oil over the herbs then I smeared the butter on the bread ,dipped in the herb oil . Chefs kiss A few minutes passed and I was served my salad . Now I may wayvh to much Chef Ramsey to know a Ceasars salad is supposed to be or SHOULD be served on a freezing cold plate, mine was not . The lettuce was room temp as well as the dressing . I've had this salad from here before and I loved it . This time around it was basic . The lettuce did have a crunch leading me to assume to was fresh ,it was just lukewarm and not to my standard. I devoured it anyhow. The grand finale finally arrived. I didn't know where to start ,so I started with the Marsala. I LOVE Chicken Marsala so my expectation was high . Of the three chicken breast , this was the most underwhelming of the three . This chicken itself tasted bland , like the chicken wasn't seasoned itself. The mushrooms and glazed carried this one . I rate this one ... on THIS occasion a 2/5 stars. Underwhelming Next was the chicken Bryan! Wowwwww , I love chicken pesto pasta and sun dried tomatoes and this was so reminiscent of it . I was so delicious and the added fresh basil was the perfect touch! It was juicy and moist unlike the first . Definitely gave Cain and Able . Siblings but so different. This one I would give a 4.5/5 stars. DIVINE Lastly , was the Pollo Rosa . This one was stuffed with Fontona cheese and prosciutto. Yall !!!!!! I had a taste of a wine reduction drizzled on top , it was delicious !again the basil and mushroom were the perfect touch! 4.5/5 stars . The mash was the perfect addition ,and now thinking back a side of asparagus would of really set it off ! Over all my experience was nice . I finished my entire entree and salad ! Says alot . 4/5 . I just left Carrabba's without any food or service. After a long day, my husband wanted to treat our boys to dinner here. When we entered, we noticed it was not busy so we figured we'd be sat quickly. We were wrong. It took almost 5 minutes for someone to come to the hostess stand. The hostess sat us at a booth right at the front of the restaurant. Several employees walked by and none acknowledged us. After 10 minutes, we decided to get up to leave. I guess that made us no longer invisible because we heard an employee say, "How long were they waiting?" My husband told the employee that no one had addressed us so we were leaving. She apologized. We left. I'm really surprised by how we were treated/ignored. I'm not sure we will return. read more
