An overall subpar experience. We made resevations but the lackadaisical front staff were confused. It appeared they had no room for us in the dinning room and this placed us in the bar area. Ate there tonight. Had reservations and restaurant was not extremely crowded but we were sat in front of the door and it became quit chilly especially every time the door was opened. We did not complain or asked to be moved but thought this would be a know problem especially if it is a very cold night. Otherwise service and food was great. We had the Brie appetizer and it was the highlight of the night. Had salads which were good but not anything over the top special. I had the Bolognese which was nice but a little spicy night to it which was different, noodles cooked perfect. Wife had the salmon which she said was really good and was a large portion. Son and daughter in law had lasagna which they liked. Nice setting in the upscale shopping area and good atmosphere. Would recommend to friends for an upscale Italian meal. read more

one year ago I have a 2 star review and promptly had a response and a gift certificate. When I visited the restaurant to receive my gift I was introduced to Scott, the owner. We frequented the restaurant and would introduce him to friends. We frequent all his restaurants. Wow. We have been here several times (admittedly during happy hour) and had been fairly happy with the food and service. This time not so much. 10 mins to get someone to place a drink order. Salad is VERY small. Asked for some extra dressing and bleu cheese stuffed olives. Request went into a black hole. We have a lovely evening here! Our waitress, Erin, was incredibly attentive, our glasses were never empty nor did we ever have to wait for anything to be brought to us! The manager stopped by to check in on us, and made sure we were having a good experience. The food was delicious and fresh and the drinks were great! They had live music on their front porch area! you can tell they take great care of their staff, so their staff takes great care of their customers! The restaurant itself was very clean and classy a great place for a date night or birthday dinner! The complementary valet was an added bonus too. I'm not sure why this restaurant doesn't have five stars but if they continue on the path that they are on, I'm sure they will be there in no time! Definitely recommend coming here! I had made a reservation online to be seated in the dining room. When we arrived, nobody was standing at the host station outside, so we briefly waited until somebody came out. The woman was not exceptionally friendly, did not greet us, and just asked if we had a reservation and then seemed surprised when we said yes. She took us inside to the host stand there. Once inside, the 2-3 women standing at the host stand seemed to be discussing back and forth that they had nowhere to seat us, seemed confused, and then asked if we would sit in the bar instead. Once seated in the bar (which is not as nice), the service was average. The drinks came out quickly, as did the appetizer and the food. I thought the shrimp scampi was tasty and have no complaints regarding the food. The ambiance of the dining room seemed nice, but the bar was nothing more than average. Would I come back? Maybe. Great Italian spot in Tyler, Tx! The food was all around delicious - great starters in the Italian Meatballs and the Pesto Cheese Sticks. Chicken Milanese was fantastic - HIGHLY recommend. Came here for a graduation and managed to snag a table here just 30 minutes before. Service was friendly - our server Brittany took good care of us. Ambiance is elevated a bit from a casual joint - collared shirt and maybe some pants will do perfectly for guys here. Overall, it'd be hard to find better Italian around here! read more

It was a wonderful date night spent at this restaurant. Beautiful atmosphere, clean fancy environment and the server was absolutely amazing and polite. The food was also very fresh and delicious. My broccoli was waterlogged. My "Alfredo sauce " was watery, had lemon in the sauce and did not taste like Alfredo at all. The pasta was mush. The asparagus was all stock pieces not one floret. My husband's Cesar salad was drenched in a mediocre dressing. The croutons were soggy.Our waiter was very friendly. The atmosphere is nice but very confusing. The only two problems were the price, partly my fault because I added toppings, but what I really was disappointed in was the crust it was excellent, but it was not thick, bubbly and charred. Thursday evening meal. Party of 4. Restaurant was very noisy. Carrying on a conversation was difficult. Hard surface floors, walls, windows and ceiling reflects sound. Many tables in a small area. Service: was very slow and inconsistent. Had to ask reception to find our waitress at one point. Food: not inspiring. Have prepared the same dishes at home and tasted better. Beverages: avoid their coffee. Bitter and distasteful. They ran out of one of our groups preferred bourbons. Seemed to have made last drink very weak. He tried to order another with a different bourbon and took extremely long time to get to table. Overall a poor experience. There are better options in the area. read more

This was such a great find! Elegant yet casual. Quick and friendly servers made the experience even better. It happened to be Martini Tuesday and I was not disappointed. Delicious!!! I'm pretty picky and I was quite happy with the perfectly chilled cocktail The food was fantastic. While we only came for appetizers I was surprised at how delicious and fresh they were! The fried artichokes were fabulous! The breading was perfect and the addition of pancetta (?) and sun dried tomatoes was icing on the proverbial cake. The calamari were also fabulous! I've been to two culinary schools. Visual:::it was creamy white--all creamy white, very unappetizing. What I'm saying here, is there were no grill marks on the chicken breast. It looked boiled! The bed of spaghetti appeared to be from the common, cheap spaghetti available anywhere. They threw on some large capers, but so what. I made this dish in my college apartment before I knew anything about food, and mine was better. Villaggio is a confusing place to me. The wine list is awesome--one of the top in town. It offers variety in price and unique vintage. People in Tyler travel, they enjoy fine dining in top cities at top restaurants. The food here at Villaggio should be insulating to those who know better. I had heard it was good, but either the person who told me doesn't know good food, or something changed. Today I took my dear friend out to lunch for her birthday. We were promptly seated at a great table next to one of the beautiful Christmas trees & we enjoyed a delicious lunch with great service! The restaurant looked beautiful along with the patio equally decorated, enclosed & equipped with heaters on this cold day. Sorry I didn't catch the servers name but she was a beautiful, tall young lady with long brown hair. When I arrived home I realized I lost my earring. I called & spoke with Brock who said he would ask around & also ask the server when she returned. He took this time & further time to call me back to tell me he didn't find it. I asked him if he would place a note with my # just in case someone would find it later (It was costume jewelry so not of much value, especially with just one earring) & he said he would. Later that night I was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Brock stating someone had turned it in. What a nice Christmas gift to be able to pick up one of my favorite earrings which i believed was lost forever! Thank you for hiring such kind & hard working staff & also to the person who turned it in. We frequent all of your restaurants & we are consistently impressed by Javi's, III Palms & recently our server at FD's as well (Rachel).
