We came here mainly for the location, right in the middle of Wellen Park, which is honestly such a cute, walkable area. The restaurant itself is really nice and the service was great. Our server was super sweet and everyone we interacted with was welcoming. That said... the food was underwhelming. The best thing we had was the Chilled Florida Combo with oysters and shrimp, which feels pretty hard to mess up. I ordered the scallops and for $44, it just wasn't worth it. My husband got the shrimp and grits and actually sent it back, which we never do. The grits were watery and completely lacked seasoning. I just ordered the beet and arugula salad and added goat cheese. I asked for warm chicken / it was luke warm and dry, it was obviously sitting around for awhile. When I mentioned it they replaced it. We ordered the Blue Fin Tuna which came out well done; sent it back & it came back Raw. They tried to make it better but just couldn't. One should pass this $45 dollar dish up. Took my partner for Mother's day dinner. My review is on a shorten menu on a very busy day. We had the roasted duck and filet mignon. Server was attentive and kind. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Yes....I would suggest for starters, the grouper bites, fried calamari, and the Mussels in a Thai coconut curry...so so tasty! Villani & Co. has easily become one of our go-to spots when we're downtown Welland Park. We love the atmosphere, it's trendy, open and perfectly sized for a cozy experience (plus there's outside seating as well). The food is good. The portions are nice and priced to what you expect to pay when you're at a steak and seafood restaurant. The service is always over the top and everyone is professional and friendly. My only gripe is when I've ordered drinks from the bar. The pours aren't as heavy as I wish they'd be. At times I feel like I'm paying $16 for a cocktail of juice. Each bartender makes the same drink, but with a different measure of ingredients and that makes them inconsistent. If I order a certain cocktail, I'm expecting it to taste the same way as the time before. That wont stop us from coming back. read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant. Our friend was in town and wanted to thank my wife and I for helping him with his new home. Thomas greeted us and did a great job taking care of us. My wife and I ordered the Sword fish dinner and we shared a Caesar salad which was just ok not great. When the dinners came all I could smell was a strong nasty fishy smell. I thought I should at least try it. My first bite had a stainless steel metal fiber from a grill scrubby. I left it on the table so someone would see it. Our friend didn't want to make a fuss about it. After a few bites I couldn't eat it. If I was paying for the meal it would have gone back to the kitchen. My wife had the same issue with her meal. We asked for togo boxes and threw it in the trash when we got home. Our first and last meal at this poor excuse of a restaurant. There are many great restaurants at Wellen. First time visiting Villani's. We didn't have reservations and were actually planning on visiting one of the other restaurants here in Wellen Park. But we hadn't been here before so decided to walk in. As I said they require reservations even though there were plenty of empty tables that obviously must have been reserved. We were going to move on when the hostess got us a table. Place is nicely decorated inside and very roomy. Bar was fully stocked and had quite the selection of whisky and bourbon. After ordering a Mich Ultra for me and a Negroni for my wife we decided on an appetizer of Oysters Rockefeller that were quite tasty. Entrees consisted of a Caesar salad with grouper bites that my wife loved and the baked haddock with a buttery drizzle that really hit the spot. Waitress was very courteous and checked on us often to see if everything was good and if we needed anything. Overall we enjoyed our meals and would definitely come back. read more

Tried this place on a whim. Not a fan of manufactured Town Centers but Wellen Park is actually attractive. Expected the San Destin style, pricey yet frozen 'fresh' experience. I was totally wrong! Service from seating, to bussing to my waiter, Dylan were on it. Dylan took his time with me & explained the dishes accurately. Everyone seems to be on the same team and obviously well-trained. Sent a pic of the seasonal Oyster menu to wifey to make her jealous. I opted for the outrageously low priced premium Dinner for Two special. I am down for two weeks & I wanted left overs for my work trip. I started with the Fried Green Tomatoes with balsamic, italian style. Ate all 6! For dinner(s), I got 6 large scallops and fingerling taters, and, the Grilled Grouper. Both were large portions, came with two premium sides, and tasted and smelled fresh. I finished the scallops, broccoli and grilled asparagus as left overs. Still good. Tonight, it will be the Grouper. Oh, the Dinner special comes with either a red or white wine (which is Lagniappe at this point) and your choice of dessert! Took the delightful Italian organic Pinot Grigio home unopened, & gave my dessert to the busboy. We had made a reservation for outside dining, so we were so glad that with all the rain that day they easily moved us inside. Would have been great to sit outside, but the inside had a nice cozy but modern feel and it was nice the tables weren't too crammed together and crowded. I really liked their menu. What was unique about it was a listing of seafoods, a listing of other cuts of meats, and a listing of sauces. You could create your on entrée from those options in addition to choosing two sides. I loved the customization of it. I ended up choosing the snapper with lemon dill tartar sauce with fingerling potatoes and broccoli. It was all really good, but surprisingly the snapper was a bit overcooked in my opinion. It had some drier spots especially on the ends where it was thinner. The sides were the standouts for me - both cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. You could tell they were prepared with intention and not just a quick job thrown on the plate. I personally really appreciated that! I'm thankful our server was very accommodating and helpful when I had questions re: gluten free options. They don't have a special gluten free menu, but she was very thorough in explaining what I could have and even checked on some things with the chefs for me. It meant a lot she went out of her way on some things too that I hadn't even asked about. I will certainly be returning! read more

My husband and I had dinner here on Friday night. We were looking for a good steak. Villano and Co. didn't disappoint. So much so, I forgot to take pictures of them. We both got filets. My husband topped his with Gorgonzola butter and I got the bourbon butter. Both were delicious. The steak was cooked beautifully. But back to the starters, our server was great and gave us the run down of the menus and specials. I started off with this seafood chowder. Good little soup for a Florida "cold" night. Worst service and the most bland overcooked shrimp I've ever eaten in my life. I came for lunch with my family today and our waitress could barely muster a smile - was a truly strange experience. An older lady sitting alone near us got up and left as she was unsatisfied with the service. The peel and eat shrimp left A LOT to be desired. They were severely overcooked, bland and tasteless. No lemon, no seasoning, no garlic just overcooked and rubbery. The calamari has potential but the bagged shredded Parmesan cheese is better left off the menu. We ate here last Saturday, Stu was our server, he kept our meal at a good pace. We did not feel rushed or that the service was slow, it was just right. Stu had a good personality and took excellent care of us. We started with Shrimp cocktail, 6 large shrimp, chilled correctly with a nice cocktail sauce. We both went with burgers and fries, my wife had the 8 once grilled burger and I had a double smash burger. Both cooked the way we asked will a very good flavor. I ordered black garlic/truffle sauce for the steak but they brought me balsamic sauce. If you have been to this section of Wellen park you must stop by. It's located in a growing section of North Port. While we waited for our table we grabbed a cocktail at the outdoor bar and listed to some music from the Friday night concert series. Once we where seated we order the cheese and meat plate and it was very good. Also 1/2 dozen oysters. They where fresh but small. My wife had the fillet over mashed potatoes and I had the steak tips over the fingerling potatoes. Both meals where very good. Will be back for sure read more

In my opinion something has changed....been here may times... this time very upsetting....ate at bar....part of our order brought out and given to another customer.... After a while bartender took the food away from the customer who received it and plopped it in front of me-- I told bartender I did not want food touched by another customer.
