Great open space and trails all over for running or biking, so it's easy to get outside and move. The park across the intersection is huge too, with plenty of space for dogs or just to relax outdoors. Maintenance and office are nicely quick and responsive, always great to see them taking active care of the community! It's a prime location, my favorite complex and I've lived all over dfw. It is scary being a renter these days. At first, I thought it was a nice place but over the 4 years I lived there the property's quality and standards went downhill. The landlord Greystar did not maintain the property very well, was not trustworthy, and drew up shady contracts to sign that took away my legal rights. Maintenance would come to the apartment without notifying me first even when I requested it in which I felt was an invasion of privacy. The gates to the apartment complex were broken, left open, and when they were working they gave codes that did not work to open the gates. The garage door to my apartment broke a few times and opened randomly as well. The property was not secure, and I felt unsafe living there. The landlord charged monthly for pest control, but they didn't come out monthly. The apartments were infested with mice, centipedes, ants, flies, spiders, cockroaches, and bugs I couldn't identify. I had to pass by dead rodents and birds on walks outside. One time on my patio, there was a large tarantula in which they told me they could not help me with. The apartment has a mold problem, in which 2 mushrooms grew out from under the flooring in the bathroom which came back positive for Penicillium spp. species which is a mold that was dangerous to my family's health. I addressed the health concerns of the apartment with the management, and they didn't respond back. I paid for a monthly trash valet service that I didn't use because I was afraid to be fined by the landlord. The dumpster at the apartment overflowed with trash, smelled, and was not maintained by the staff. I asked for my apartment and the rotting wood on the patio outside to be painted, and they told me to paint it myself. The landlord did not do any flood prevention to the property. During the ice storm, the pipes burst in the apartment building I lived in, and all of the residents were without running water for a week. Every Monday, the leave blowers spent hours with disturbing loud machines blowing around leaves, but the fallen leaves still remained on the property so in essence they disturbed everyone for nothing. They replaced the roof, but the people that did the project left nails all over the driveway that could have gone into my car tires. After the roof was replaced, the roof leaked at the front door when it rained. They did a tree trimming project and left branches all over the yard for days. On both projects, they ripped out the screen from the window. I went to the front office to tell them of what happened, and the office staff offered no empathy, and told me they are not giving me special treatment. I told them I am not asking for special treatment, but to be treated with decency and respect by them in which they did not want to offer to me. The office staff response to me was to move. The management turned over frequently, and after they flipped they started to increase my rent by 20% per year. When they raised my rent by 20% the first time, I tried to negotiate with them which did not work, as I think they were pushing me out to get a new resident in. I told the landlord I was a single mom living off of 1 income, and that the yearly rent increases were more than my yearly wage increases at my job. They told me they didn't care and could get a new resident that would pay "market rate" for the apartment. The next year they raised my rent by 20% again. I have lived in Plano for a long time, and rents have never increased like this here. My rent went from being affordable at $1730/mo to unaffordable at $2570/mo which is a 48% increase over a 4 yr timeframe; plus an additional $130/mo for services I didn't use. This landlord is not socially responsible as they make living conditions worse rather than better for families. It was like one bad thing after another at this place. Private Equity Greystar, Invitation Homes, RealPage, and others are unethical and dishonest. They go into high debt and need to make up that debt by inflating rents, and not maintaining the property well. Greystar has affiliations with Invitation Homes that buy single family homes to rent, so they have helped each other inflate people's rents which benefits them as they make more money. Because of their contributions in creating a rigged system that mainly benefits landlords, they have forced people into being renters that don't want to be renters. They have created less choice rather than more choice, as the housing prices are too inflated. Not everything is bigger in Texas, as families in Texas are being pushed into tiny communal apartments and houses with communal corporate landlords in control of our living situation. Rather than dreams they offer nightmares; that is the legacy they leave behind. I felt pushed out of the apartment by the landlords excessive rent increases, and for all of the mean things they did to me while I lived there. Over time I realized this is a really bad landlord, and it was time to go. read more

New management every year...dog poop stations are completely full of dogshit and now there are bags of poop on the ground everywhere along with an abundance of flies, mosquitoes, and other bugs. THIS ISN'T HEALTHY FOR PEOPLE WITH BABIES OR TODDLERS!!!! Trash on the ground throughout the complex. For what the complex is charging for rent (gouging) we should expect a cleaner place to live. Constant smell of marijuana coming from the pool area. Side gates are always broken so anyone can access the "gated community". We are paying for that as an amenity as well. Cars are broken into from kids at a nearby complex. Insulation is horrible during winter and summer. A/C is constantly running or heater is constantly running due to the gaps in the doors & windows. Expect astronomical electric bills!!! Toilets are always leaking. THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A LUXURY APARTMENT COMPLEX EVEN THOUGH THEY CHARGE ALMOST $1500+. DO NOT MOVE HERE! read more

I lived there in 2015-2016 while attending graduate school at SMU. My mother past away in Jan 2016 and I had to withdraw from SMU and return home to assist with funeral arrangements and such. Left apt very clean. Sure they had it leased following week. Apt mgmt was ruthless and did not care. Refused to negotiate or work with me. Rent was only $850 a month, yet they reported over $3k collection acct against me. Would never lease from property management company again. read more

Villas at Legacy is in a prime location, I was very impressed at their grand opening when I saw all the renovations the owner completed. The clubhouse now looks like a relaxing resort with a fun family vibe! The pool is right next to the clubhouse so you see the sparkling water as soon as you walk in. Their fitness center was a wow factor, they upgraded to all matrix brands and a huge Smith machine which is a plus for me! Meeting their team was also another positive, they're super friendly and always willing to help. If you're looking in Plano, this is the place to live, straight shot off of the tollway, close by to all the fun dining and entertainment, Shops of Legacy is around the corner, this is a must! read more

DO NOT MOVE HERE! First place I've ever lived where you hear your downstairs neighbors (due to poor insulation) since new management showed up place has gone to shit. They make up rules for breaking your lease if you choose to do so to prevent you from moving. It took over a week to get my AC fixed last summer, was told they would pay for my electric bill for putting power hungry portable AC units in..... turned out to lie to get me to be ok with living in scorching heat for a week... This place is now Villas at Legacy, but they don't have a page, so I'm posting here. I want to preface this by noting that I am not writing this review out of anger. I am writing this review so that you aren't sucked in by what looks like a great place to live. Noise: The walls and ceilings are pretty thin, I can hear my next door neighbors arguing and can hear the tap dancers above me. Grounds: From the outside, this place actually looks pretty good. The new paint job is nice. Safety: Quite a few spots that are very poorly lit, but aside from that, it isn't terrible. Neighborhood: This is why people come here. The schools are great. You close enough to everything that you don't have to drive more than 10 minutes to get what you need, and you are just far enough away that you aren't overwhelmed by traffic and noise. Maintenance: If I could give a zero, I would. (More below) Staff: Danya is the only reason I'm satisfied with leaving one star and not zero. I am a few months into my second lease here, and I wish I hadn't made that mistake. To be honest, I am paying $1900 for a $1500 apartment in an $1800 neighborhood. The only good thing I can say about the staff is that Danya is seriously awesome. She has helped me keep my sanity while I work through my countless negative experiences - but those are stories for another day. The maintenance is a joke. I've got a handful of maintenance requests right now that haven't been resolved for right around two weeks - and this isn't the first time. Sure, I have granite countertops and (faux) wood floors, but that doesn't make up for the fact that I have drawers that stick, cabinets that are crooked, a dishwasher that leaks, a fridge that screams at me, and nobody to come fix the issues. I pay $7 for a pest fee and the guy hasn't come out to spray even though I've asked twice. I dealt with a leak/mold issue for ~8 months that was only resolved by transferring apartments. The list goes on and on. I've tried to stick it out through the management change and the upgrades, and while it looks nicer, it still runs just as terribly as it did before. All in all, I am not happy, and probably will be until the end of my lease, since that is what I've come to expect. Ridiculous apartment complex. The interior looks good until you get up close to everything. The walls have terrible paint and have maintenance issues along the base boards. The cabinets dont stay shut, they slide open about 2-3 inches and wont shut completely. The paint keeps chipping off of the cabinets. I have told the front desk about it multiple times, and the response I get is...oo its ok we will take care of it. Nothing has been done about it. The exterior paint on my building is atrocious. I cant believe they paid money for it. There are missed spots, overlapping spots, trash from the workers is still left around. The floor is warped by the kitchen and in the living room, but I am sure when I move out somehow it will be my fault. The water heater makes this ridiculous whining noise and when told about it once again the response was '...ooo we will get to it.' The gates only work 80 percent of the time, and back by building the fence is extended 20 feet beyond the gate and then closed off to nothing. So it keeps those pesky burglaries out if they dont want to walk the extra 20 feet. All in all I would choose the one right across the street or the one further down and closer to preston. This complex is terrible. I was on a work trip for a week before my 60 days hit and the front desk guy called me and asked if I was renewing. I told him no, that I was not renewing and would be on a work trip, he then asked me to turn in a sheet saying so. When I returned '5 days after' my 60 day I turned in my paper. They informed me that it was late and I would be charged for the extra 5 days of my lease being extended. Absolutely ridiculous that a verbal confirmation and then a written document AS SOON AS I RETURNED is not sufficient. read more

We are current residents of this apartment complex, and it's probably the last place you want to live!!! We can't wait to end our lease and get out of this place. Except from its great location nothing is good here. We have to call maintenance once a week with problems like water leaks from our apartment and the apartment upstairs. I guess when the built this complex they didn't put any isolation, so we can hear every move of our upstairs neighbors ( and the move a lot ). I can hear my next door snoring at night and we also hear all the screaming from downstairs. It's been a nightmare for us. We complained about it and were offered to move to a different apt paying 300$ but we figure out it's going to be same... I wish I would have taken other reviews that complain about the noise more seriously before I made my decision to move here. read more

Everything was fine until we had downstairs neighbors who decided animal cruelty was the in thing. Keeping their dogs on the balcony and never paying attention to them which in turned piled up stacks and mounds of dog feces and piss smelling up our entire domain. After numerous times contacting the office it took 4 months of me smelling that shit every night until they finally evicted them. I had to go into the office and literally threaten them with lawyers until they did something. Then one day I get a notice on my door stating that they are going to renovate our building and we have no choice but to move out and that they would not renew our lease. We could move into another unit with our rent being upped HUNDREDS of dollars. They think that they are in the same tier as these other apartments who have state of the art amenities. All rents are raising because of the Cowboys STAR, Toyota moving here, property value increasing etc but even with their renovations they are still nowhere near the class of these places that are charging similar rent. So not only do I have not have the option the renew my lease which thank God I never did, I have to pay for movers now and/or find a new place to live. During our move out process I hired a maid service to come in and do a deep clean of our entire apartment after we moved everything out and I came back to check and it was spotless. Villas charged me 50.00 to clean the oven again and 35.00 for carpet. They also denied us our deposit back which they said they had no record of. The duration of us living there management had turned over probably 4 times. When I asked them how would it have even been possible for me to move in if I hadnt paid the deposit and they just looked at me with no answer. I showed them proof bank statements of me paying deposit and pet deposit but they still denied us our deposit back because they lost their own records. I did them a favor by cleaning that place even though they are going to tear it up and rip it to shreds because they are renovating the whole place but they still charged me. They sent me a bill for 185.00 when they should be giving me a check for around the same amount. These are fake apartments charging you waaaay too much. We moved out and found more square footage, better amenities, higher floor with an elevator in a better neighborhood for LESS than what they were about to charge us to move into a smaller place. Very Nice Apartments! We love it here! I moved here in August 2016 and my son and I love living here! We plan to stay at least two years unless I find a house to buy. Yes, there are pros and cons living in any apartment no matter what apartment complex you choose. If you are moving here from a detached home, then it may take a little bit to get used to it. It is different, but it has its many pluses which I will list below: Pros: The complex is located in a fairly quiet area; however, you will hear the occasional car going by. It is well lighted at night. It has surrounded with big beautiful trees and a huge common area yards with plenty sidewalks to walk around which are always well kept. There are plenty of doggie trash stations too. They have a huge dog park in the back that is divided for small dogs and big dogs. My dog absolutely loves running there. I am in the B3 apartment on the 2nd floor and it is huge with a gigantic porch with big pillars and a storage room. It makes me feel that I am in a house and not an apartment. The first floor units all have a wood fence surrounding the porches giving a small private yard. I am in a newly updated unit that has laminate hard wood floors though out the huge living room, the kitchen, and bathrooms. The only carpet is in the bedrooms which makes it real nice if you have pets. The walk-in closets are real big too. I love opening the 2" blinds on my huge windows and door to let the natural light in. The bedrooms are real big too. I have an 11 1/2 foot wide head board that fits my king size bed and I still have plenty of room to move around. I am not cramped at all. Although the kitchen is small, the black granite counter tops more than make up for it. The weird thing is that I do not have a food pantry, so I put a portable shelf in between my washer and dryer room and it works perfectly. They have a big gorgeous pool and lounge area with grills, fireplace, and lounge chairs, with a real nice workout room where they offer a free personal trainer two times a week which I have not tried yet. Cons: The only cons I can speak of that is COMMON to any apartment complex, is that, yes, there is a little bit of noise from the people on the 3rd floor above us. We can hear them walking across the floor a lot, but this is life in apartments. I have good upper neighbors and they are quiet during bed time which is the most important. If you need total quiet, then I highly recommend that you live on the 3rd floor unit so you will not hear the creaking when people walk across the floor. When it comes to maintenance, I have only had a couple minor issues, which they took care of right away. One main issue I had at move in, the painters were sloppy and allowed over spray of white paint spots on the corners and edges of the laminate wood floors and after complaining about it, they have still have not sent their maintenance men to clean it up. I will be doing that myself soon. My unit is in the back facing the huge electrical power line. When you walk outside, you will hear a continuous buzz/hum every time you go out the door that I did not notice when my son and I looked at the apartment and applied for it; however, you will not hear it when you shut the doors nor will you hear it on your front porch if it faces the opposite side. My electric bill is real cheap. My highest was $119 for September and I keep it at 72. Make sure you shop your electric companies. I go thru For Change Electric. The unit I'm in does not distribute the air properly in my particular unit. It blows out first real heavy in my son's bedroom and bathroom, so you will have to use osculating fans throughout the unit to keep it evenly cool which will help reduce your electric bill quite a bit. I have also attached a little shelf in front of the air distributor in my bedroom with a small fan on it in order to push the air thru better which has helped drop the temperature in my room at least four degrees. The A/C units outside are noisy since there are six A/C units below my bathroom window and maintenance will do nothing about it. Again, this is COMMON among apartment complexes. You WILL hear the A/C units blowing. I just keep a fan in my bedroom at night for white noise to drown it out. Tenants keep their dogs on a leash, but there are some who will not. Yes, you will see some dog poop scattered in various spots because not all dog owners will pick up after their dog although the complex does provide many doggie poop stations all around the common areas. Again, this is COMMON at apartment complexes and you just have to look down when you are walking your dog. The office staff is super friendly; especially Justin who goes out of his way to help you and show a very professional attitude to help you. So, if you can accept the common issues in apartment living, then you will totally love living here like my son and I do! read more

If I could give no stars I would. Good luck if you decide to move into this apartment complex! Week one in our new apartment our first leak experience happened. When we called the front office to tell them there was water pouring out of a couple light switches, they got exasperated like it was our fault there was a leak in the apartment above us. When they came to "clean up", they cut our carpet in three places to pull out the carpet padding that needed to be replaced. This would not have been an issue had they repaired the tearing in the carpet before they left, but they didn't. Two years later, our AC goes out. We called the front office immediately, since it was the middle of summer in Texas, and again we are met with a similar rude response. The woman who answered said something like "OH MY GOD ANOTHER ONE, we'll send someone." and then hung up. A technician came to "fix" the AC that he thought simply needed a charge, well a few days later it stopped working completely! After another wonderful conversation with the front office they scheduled an HVAC Certified tech to come take a look. Turns out the blower was not shutting off, something a trained tech could easily spot. But I guess training their maintenance workers isn't very high on their list! Soon after, our sliding glass door got stuck in the frame. We called to inform the front office that we were not able to lock our door and that there was about an inch gap at the bottom, we were assured someone would be out to look at it. Sure enough, the next day someone came to look and then we heard nothing from anyone until we began pestering the front office about it. THREE MONTHS LATER, they FINALLY installed a new door that works properly. Their excuse as to why it took so long; "They only had the frame in off-white, not the eggshell color its supposed to be." Seriously? I would not have cared if the frame was baby poop green, all I wanted was to feel safe in my own living space, something that is WAY TOO MUCH to ask for here. We really wanted hardwood floors installed since we have a dog we thought it would be much better than the carpet! Since every apartment around ours was having them installed, we figured it wouldn't be an issue as we were willing to pay the extra monthly fee to have them! Well it was an issue, surprise surprise... We were met with a "sorry we can't risk installing new hardwood floors since you have a dog in the apartment." Great excuse since the people who live above us and the people across the hall both have dogs and yet they didn't have an issue installing the hardwood for them! I guess our money isn't green enough? Not long after, we experienced our second leak. Now keep in mind, they NEVER FIXED THE CARPET FROM THE FIRST LEAK THAT HAPPENED WEEK ONE, THREE YEARS AGO. After we informed the front office that there was a leak above us, AGAIN, they told us they would send someone to take a look and make sure there wasn't any damage. About thirty minutes later, as i'm on my way home early from work to check the damage, we get a call saying someone checked and there was no damage to our apartment. Well that was a BOLD FACED LIE as when I got home the water damage was beyond obvious! After another call to the front, a sub contractor came to "repair" our carpet, which consisted of MORE carpet cutting and new pads. After having a nice conversation with this man and after he spent time petting and playing with our dog he left. Not fifteen minutes later we get a call from the front office informing us that the carpet contractor saw our dog and "knows she's a pit bull", because this guy is totally a breed expert... They proceeded to accuse us of lying on our lease agreement about what type of dog we have. I'm not sorry but we rescued her and the agency told us she was a Catahoula mix, so that's what our lease agreement says! They proceeded to inform us that " we are no longer welcome to renew our lease" and that they are " being nice because they could evict us." But decided not to because of all of the issues we had with our apartment. Which i guess really isn't a bad thing since we were leaving when the lease was up anyways! Apart from our horrible experiences with the front office staff, the apartments themselves are sub-par.There is NO NOISE INSULATION WHAT-SO-EVER. You can literally hear EVERY foot step your neighbors above you take. Every time the toilet on the second floor flushed the walls would rattle. You can here every bass note and explosion in whatever they may be watching on TV. Washer and dryer sounds, dishwasher sounds, blender sounds, you name it... Not to mention the wonderful sounds of other people having sex right above you... I can't count how many times we have been woken up by these wonderful sounds! Don't waste your time, money or patience at Century Legacy Village, all they care about is the money, not their residents!! P.S You have to call the front office 30+ times to get in contact with anyone!!! read more

AVOID THIS PLACE. Grimy, dirty, old. Inconsistent, unprofessional front office people will tell you different things so don't trust them. Paid a monthly fee for quarterly pest control services but then no service unless I requested. Rarely worked anyway. There were mice, crickets, pill bugs, spiders. I had to spray and set traps. Proximity to Toll Way and Spring Creek makes it very noisy. Monthly car show down the street is loud. read more

POOR QUALITY: this old property needs major renovation and reconstruction, not only "cosmetic touch-ups". This is really shoddy work. The cheapest vendors who were apparently hired on the lowest bid are carelessly working too fast without any quality oversight and the property management of the parent company simply doesn't care; this is only an investment property to them. The rental rates are unjustified compared to the local market's level of quality for what you can buy. The work is inept: maintenance staff and contract vendors are painting over previously-painted / stained / coated particleboard cabinets and shelving (in the guise of "upgrading"). Result? = renters are paying for the wrong paint formula is being used, the paint doesn't adhere to the coating so you get bleed-thrus, or outright peeling off of the new paint layers. Paint guns are wielded to blast over *everything* in sight no matter what gets un the way: the cupboard hinges, the door locks, the drawer handles, or screws and nails attaching wire shelving to closet walls, air vents to ceilings, smoke detectors to walls. Kitchen cabinets are missing interior shelves lost by the vendors who remove them in the course of work, and paint gets sprayed onto the tile and laminate flooring. The units' new, silver-coated accessory hardware (towel rods, bathroom tissue roll holders, shower curtain rods, door handles, and drawer and cabinet pulls) are installed (1) literally crooked, (2) too high or too low onto the walls, or (3) unmeasured so the sheetrock gets damaged. Hardware doesn't fit into their designated spaces and maintenance doesn't correct the mistakes when asked. The unit's appliances (dishwashers, microwaves, stovetops) are baseline and the quality isn't there; they operate as if they were contracted wholesale and / or bought in bulk as refurbished.
