I'm a regular customer here - every 2 weeks or so for a pretty straightforward gel manicure. Disappointed today - although I had an appointment and no one was waiting my technician rushed through, never letting the full time expire on the UV light. No final clean off with alcohol, and It's about 20 min since I left there and all my nails are sticky and top layer rubbing off. Waste of $ read more

By far my favorite nail salon in the Kalamazoo area. I no longer live close to this salon but I make the trip out there because I know I can count on them to do a great job. I recently visited and tried the nail dip power and absolutely love it. The staff is so friendly and the salon is very clean and organized. The prices are comparable to other salons like theirs. Great service, pricing, and facilities. They have a wide color selection (both regular and shellac polish) and the massage chairs are super comfy. So I went to Vina for the first time because they had great reviews and pictures from clients showed high quality results with attention to detail. I went in looking for a full acrylic set with gel polish, and showed my manicurist the picture of what I wanted (last picture I uploaded). At first she was patient and accommodating, but after finding the colors and starting the manicure she lost that very quickly. She did a bunch of my nails crooked and I asked her politely to fix the ones that were, she did fix a few, but as you can see in the photos not all of them. The ones that are STILL crooked I asked her multiple times to fix, to which she would look and say she didn't see it and that I was "so picky ". I most definitely was picky about that, because nobody wants crooked nails...especially when she told me it was going to be $58 to get what I wanted. That is fine, but if I'm paying that much before tip, I expect a quality set and good service...not to be told I'm too picky and leave with crooked nails. I did have to have her redo the lines on a bunch of nails because they were uneven as well, and she wasn't the nicest about it but she did fix them. Fast forward a week and the gel polish was wearing at the tips and changing color so I went in for a complimentary polish touch up. When I got there, I told her I was sorry but I was so tired because I work 3rd shift and only had 2 hours of sleep, so of course, my eyes started to get really heavy while she was doing my color. The first time, she said "WAKE UP" and glared at me...then about 10 minutes later I started to nod off (not on purpose) and when she asked me to put my nails under the light I accidentally bumped one against her hand and messed it up so she had to fix it...she then started going off in another language to the woman next to her. That woman, in front of other clients then said (in a very condescending way) "Kate, could you try to stay awake so she can do your nails?" At this point, I'm mortified. Obviously my intention wasn't to accidentally doze off during a polish touch up, but to be humiliated in front of everyone for something that was unintentional to begin with was awful. I do understand my manicurists frustration, I just wish she had been kind about it. When it was done, I went to the front where the woman who had kindly scolded me for her coworker was, and asked if I could leave a tip for the inconvenience...she just kind of looked at me for a minute, then the gentleman next to her said yes and took care of it. I apologized and finished the transaction. Neither of the women said thank you or even responded to my apology. All in all, it was a super unfortunate experience and I wish I had one that was like some of the other reviews but that just wasn't the case. read more

This place is absolutely wonderful. Not only is it really clean but the people take their time and pay attention to the small details. Customer service is top notch. I used to go to a nail salon right down the street from my house but after visiting the salon and the way my nails turned out I'm happy to say I'll be making the longer drive to visit the salon when I need my nails done!! Yeah. Used to give them 5 stars but when I was there in october i got a lovely cellulitis infection. And it was a bad pedi with no massage at all. But really the cellulitis is the big problem. read more

This place is great when it comes to cleanliness and quality of work. HOWEVER, they have a serious issue with their pricing and I will not be utilizing their services again until it is fixed. On their kid's services menu it states: $12 manicure (w/free flower) $20 pedicure (w/free flower) $30 mani/pedi. I chose the mani/pedi for my 5 year old daughter. They asked if I wanted a flower on her toes, I said sure. When asked if I wanted a flower on her fingers, I said yes, assuming it was also included. They told me it was a $5 up charge, making it $35. They explained a flower is only included on the fingers OR toes in the mani/pedi combo. I asked if I could pay for the services separately then, since a manicure and a pedicure, paid for separately with flowers included for each, is only $32. They told me no. I said I would even do separate transactions. Still no! They tried to tell me that the mani/pedi is already discounted and they can't just "give me the nail art for free". I tried to explain that it's not discounted if you're removing part of the service. I told them I wasn't trying to get anything free, just pay the $32. They then tried to tell me it's more work on just one person and if it were two different people receiving the service, it would only be $32. That makes zero sense. You don't have to clean the instruments in between if it's the same person! I even asked if I got her a manicure, left and came back and then got her the pedicure if it would be $32. They said yes. I cannot wrap my brain around that. After arguing with me for quite a bit, finally she gave me an exasperated "Just pay the $32 then. Whatever." I found that to be highly unprofessional but the biggest issue is that problem is that they're stealing from their customers this way! Sure it's only $3 but I find it highly unethical. The nail tech who worked on my daughter was wonderful and seemed sympathetic. I encourage you to use caution if you decide to use them. Check your bill!!!! I posted this on their Facebook page and they argued with me, being very unprofessional and condescending before removing the reviews section of their site completely. read more

Very nice people here and overall did a nice job. My nails looked great and the pedicure was nice although not sure the deluxe was worth the extra $10. My problem was my shellac manicure started chipping after less than a week and with back to back wedding weekends that was a big bummer for me. read more

I went here for the firs time on a Friday before the MSU vs U of M game. I got a manicure and gel polish. So, I requested they do some MSU nail art on my thumbs and ring fingers. I pulled up a picture on my phone and she did a white Spartan helmet on my thumbs and an S on each of my ring fingers. I have had my polish for a week now and have worked 47 hours in an environment where my nails usually get torn up. They still look almost as good as they did the day I got them done. If my nails didn't grow so fast, I bet you I could easily get 3 weeks out of them, maybe even a month! They had fantastic customer service, great prices and did a great job!!! I will go back again and I'll be bringing my mom:) read more

The place is cute but I have gotten five pedicures there and never been satisfied. Especially don't have any of the men that work there! He asked if I wanted my toe nails shorter, which of course they were overgrown so I wanted them trimmed and filed. He cut my big toes so short they actually are in pain and it looks TERRIBLE. He didn't even leave one of my big toes as a straight line, it is obviously at an angle. I should not be able to do a better job myself, then when I pay $30. read more

Tried them again after a horrible pedicure and the manicure was just as bad. Manicurist didn't paint the whole nail and when asked to touch it up she wanted to file the missing polish part off instead of fixing the color. Nails look streaky and splotchy. After getting this horrible manicure they offered to fix the nails but at this point I just wanted to leave after being there for over an hour. Will not EVER go back. read more
