    Awesome Sec 202, Row P

First time seeing Chicago live & it did not disappoint. The band sound was tight. Percussion, drums solo spectacular. The horns, OMG the brass sound. Awesome. Great graphics. Played all their hits, except "I'm a Streetplayer...". Why don't they play that sound. Now that's the Jam for me. Will def catch them again. Vina Robles Amphitheater perfect night, perfect weather, full moon out and a large crowd showed up. First time I saw a long line out to the main road. Didn't eat food this time around or drinks. I was section 202, Row P seat 27. Right smack in the middle. Vina Robles should consider delivering drinks by a drone for that section. Idk just a thought maybe Anyhoo, you have to see Chicago live in concert at least once in your lifetime.

I love this venue! There is not a bad seat in this venue. Easy free parking. If you have a ride you can get dropped off or picked up at the front entrance. The food looked amazing and multiple places to get drinks. The full bar was a little steep ($20 per drink). The bathrooms are an easy quick walk to access. Plenty of staff everywhere for questions or help. This venue ( 3,300 capacity ) is like a smaller version of Concord Pavilion (12,000 capacity ) in the Bay Area. I just wish they could book more metal/rock bands.

3.5 stars. Vina Robles Amphitheatre is a clean, cute, newer venue that feels very country as you are out on the out skirts of Paso Robles in the winery land. We arrived an hour early so parking was easy. We had purchased lawn seats which idk if I would do again. We arrived early to get good seats but then as the concert start time gets closer they start packing it in letting people sit in any little nook so you start to get packed in like sardines. Then when people get drunk they have to climb through the crowd and step on your stuff while they are all wobbly to get back to the bar or bathroom. Being an outdoor venue in the country there were wind gusts for us that night that made things extra chilly. People were freezing even though it was a summer concert. The low was 58 and it was so so cold, bring lots of blankets, extra warm clothes etc. We ate before so we didn't try the venues food but the pizzas looked most popular. The venue staff was really friendly and helpful so we enjoyed them and just chatting about the venue. The stage itself seemed pretty low key and like it's limited for what the artist can do so the artist has to be pretty engaging without a lot of flashy lights etc. I realized towards the end of the concert the locals started leaving so I told my husband we probably need to go because that's a sign that leaving the parking lot must be a traffic nightmare. Because we left promptly we didn't hit a lot of traffic and made it out quick but I could see how it would be really backed up and could take a long long time to get out.

The theatre itself is fantastic. The lines to the bathrooms can be rather long. Of course, worse part was getting out. Took about 1/2 hour to get out and I believe we were lucky. We did not leave early as we all wanted to see the whole concert. We saw Robert Plant and Allison Krauss were good. My girlfriend and her husband came from North Carolina to see them and bought the tickets. My husband and I enjoyed but some of their music just isn't our type. Beautiful weather, cool breeze, so glad we brought light jackets.

This place still rocks! It has fantastic seats, great food and drinks, excellent sound, and easy in-and-out parking. The service team is fast and friendly. It's a beautiful venue!

Pretty awesome venue they have out here Love seeing music outdoors and this place feels small and big at the same time. Not a bad seat in the house and the sound is great. Food options are limited but tasty. Pretty solid chicken sandwich and I always get excited for garlic fries. I appreciate that they are a waste free venue Staff seems friendly so that's a bonus I hope to attend more shows here in the future (even if it is a 3.5 hour drive from home)

If I have lawn seating tickets will they allow me to also go to the general admission standing area? Was curious if they handle both as general admission and aren't super strict about it. Thanks!

Lawn seating and General Admission (pit area) are two separate areas of the venue and require the appropriate ticket for entry. Not all concerts at Vina Robles have a general admission, or standing, area as sometimes that space is filled with… Read more

I am wondering if there is a drop off/pick up area at the theater? How far away is it from the entrance. I was thinking of taking Uber, but can't walk far due to a hip issue.

Yes. Uber/Lyft pickup/drop off right outside the entrance.

Can kids come to concerts, specifically Ziggy Marley in September?

    I've seen 12,13 year olds

How late do most concerts go till?

I think they usually go until 10:00pm.

Can we take in ANY type of snacks? I know I know...bottled water only, but has anybody been successful in taking in nuts, small candies, celery sticks?

Is it Ok to buy a General Admission ticket if you go with a 10 years old kid? It would be fine for him? thanx a lot and hugs from Spain

Absolutely, the Vina Robles Amphitheater is very family friendly. My 15 and 13 year old have gone to concerts there the last few fears with my wife and me. What concert do you plan on attending?

I would like to know how we get a refund for sitting out in the cold and spending $100 on wine and food and not seeing Morrissey?

I used Visa. I will just contact them tomorrow in dispute the transaction. I don't know if it will work but it doesn't hurt to try.

What would the temperature at the August concerts be?

Summer days are hot. However, the evening hours bring cooling breezes from the Pacific. Therefore, plan on bringing a jacket or sweater with you for the evening.… Read more

I liked all five wines on the tasting menu, including the rosé, which is new for me because I don't usually love rosés. I ended up getting another glass of the Barbera after we finished the tasting. Beautiful view from their deck. We caught the tail end of their cave tour, which always fun. Overall a really lovely wine experience.

Let me preface this with this - I rarely write reviews, and never have had to write a bad one…read moresadly. I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.

A cute little winery set up on the hill off of 46, out of sight. I stumbled across Mitchella while…read moredoing a search on Yelp, and am quite pleased I chose this to be my one stop before moving on to the next city. The tasting at Mitchella Vineyard and Winery is $20 for 6 wines, with mindfully curated cheese pairings. (A fantastic deal considering the seemingly skyrocketing cost of everything.) The tasting fee is also waived with the purchase of 2 bottles, which is the route I opted for after completing my experience. Upon arrival I was instantly greeted by Lizzie, as she patiently and quietly waited for me to exit my car. She wiggled her butt toward the entrance, encouraging me to follow. Sweet little start to the day, I'd say! (The winery pup in case you haven't figured that out.) ;-) Rachel quickly greeted me and got me seated next to a heater in their enclosed patio, and the paired adventure began. The Viognier was paired with Kokos, a coconut Gouda cheese. Very surprising on the palate, and the wine definitely emphasized the coconut, while the cheese brought out the pineapple of the wine. The Chardonnay had a crisp mouth feel but still just the slightest hint of that butteriness I tend to love in my chardonnays. The subtle saltiness of the benning goat Gouda smoothed out the crispness of the wine. The Cheap B*st*rd (since I'm not sure what Yelp decides doesn't work for them), was quite enjoyable as a stand alone. For me it had the nose of what I would consider to be darker fruits and a generally more jammy wine, but it was smooth on the palate. The white Stilton with cranberry that it was paired out helped bring forward some of the fruit flavor, but the cheese itself wasn't my favorite (hence the stand alone aspect). The Tempranillo would be my grab a glass and a book and plop down by the fireplace (or on my balcony wrapped in blankets) type of wine. It didn't feel heavy and was just a nice sippable red. On the nose, for me, was a very dark red kookaburra licorice. It had a smooth, light finish and paired quite well with the mimolette (which I will forever know as the cannonball cheese thanks to Rachel!) Presumptuous, a zin, had what I consider to be a jammy mouthfeel (as I still can't figure out how exactly wine connoisseurs identify that!) It was paired with a Boschetto truffle cheese and I feel it brought out a very mushroom forward (favorable) taste when put together. For me, it isn't always about what can the food do for the wine... I love to experience what the find can do for the food! Give me a nice side dish of garlic sautéed mushrooms with a glass of this zin, and pretty sure I'm one happy girl. The only potential downside to me for this winery is that their restroom is a portable. While considerably clean, it's definitely a tight squeeze if you're a bigger girl like myself. Deal breaker? Not a chance. I look forward to a future stop when the vines are green and views expansive!
