Opened in 2013 on the grounds of a Paso Robles winery Vina Robles Amphitheatre is described as "boutique," and from the moment one arrives to organized, efficient and free parking it is easy to see this isn't a typical concert venue. Attended for the Avett Brothers & Mike Pattone AVTT/PTTN tour everything about the experience was impressive, from Merch lines and vendors that include wood fired pizza and good coffee to the seating and acoustics. Highly recommended for a more intimate event than what one might find at Santa Barbara bowl or other outdoor venues in California. read more

(August 2024) "Hit me with your best shot, why don't you hit me with your best shot..." Too bad this venue missed by a mile! Pat Benatar has been on my bucket list for years and I couldn't wait to see her at this outdoor venue! They offer seats closer to the stage and as you move up towards the concession stands you have what are called "lawn" seats which are much cheaper and you bring your own blanket or chairs. I bought amazing seats close to the stage and enjoyed the first few songs before an unruly couple helped themselves to empty seats in between me and another couple. They kept bumping into us until we decided to move yo another row. Here is my beef: when I talked to security about the couple and their behavior they did nothing about it! They would not approach them or ask to see their tickets. It was very hard to enjoy the show after that:( The venue itself is lovely - I love the outdoor space but would I go back after that experience? Well, not to sit near the stage. Lawn seating was fun! Pleasantly surprised by the vendors. Oven pizza which was ok but hits the spot when hungry. Sangria was a nice drink. Everything is about $18-20 as expected. Parking in and out was pretty streamlined and not chaotic esp if you leave before the act is done. read more

First time seeing Chicago live & it did not disappoint. The band sound was tight. Percussion, drums solo spectacular. The horns, OMG the brass sound. Awesome. Great graphics. Played all their hits, except "I'm a Streetplayer...". Why don't they play that sound. Now that's the Jam for me. Will def catch them again. Vina Robles Amphitheater perfect night, perfect weather, full moon out and a large crowd showed up. First time I saw a long line out to the main road. Didn't eat food this time around or drinks. I was section 202, Row P seat 27. Right smack in the middle. Vina Robles should consider delivering drinks by a drone for that section. I love this venue! There is not a bad seat in this venue. Easy free parking. If you have a ride you can get dropped off or picked up at the front entrance. The food looked amazing and multiple places to get drinks. The full bar was a little steep ($20 per drink). The bathrooms are an easy quick walk to access. Plenty of staff everywhere for questions or help. This venue ( 3,300 capacity ) is like a smaller version of Concord Pavilion (12,000 capacity ) in the Bay Area. I just wish they could book more metal/rock bands. read more

3.5 stars. Vina Robles Amphitheatre is a clean, cute, newer venue that feels very country as you are out on the out skirts of Paso Robles in the winery land. We arrived an hour early so parking was easy. We had purchased lawn seats which idk if I would do again. We arrived early to get good seats but then as the concert start time gets closer they start packing it in letting people sit in any little nook so you start to get packed in like sardines. Then when people get drunk they have to climb through the crowd and step on your stuff while they are all wobbly to get back to the bar or bathroom. Being an outdoor venue in the country there were wind gusts for us that night that made things extra chilly. People were freezing even though it was a summer concert. The low was 58 and it was so so cold, bring lots of blankets, extra warm clothes etc. We ate before so we didn't try the venues food but the pizzas looked most popular. The venue staff was really friendly and helpful so we enjoyed them and just chatting about the venue. The stage itself seemed pretty low key and like it's limited for what the artist can do so the artist has to be pretty engaging without a lot of flashy lights etc. I realized towards the end of the concert the locals started leaving so I told my husband we probably need to go because that's a sign that leaving the parking lot must be a traffic nightmare. Because we left promptly we didn't hit a lot of traffic and made it out quick but I could see how it would be really backed up and could take a long long time to get out. read more

Good.. entertainers, sound quality, clean facility, easy parking. Bad.. this is the place for you if you like people screaming at the band, or if you enjoy standing up because thats what people in front of you want to do, stand, sing, and dance. Maybe serving alcohol is the issue, or maybe it's the a/o people who just don't give a hoot about their neighbors. Maybe the entertainers can ask their fans to be a little considerate of their neighbors and save the screaming, etc till after the song is over, as some of the audience came to listen to the music and enjoy the moment. read more

We recently came to Vina Robles for the fist time to see Lee Brice in concert. It's a nice little outdoor amphitheatre next to the winery. We were expecting to grab something next door at the winery when we first got there but it looked like the outdoor section was only for VIPs. In terms of the amphitheatre itself, it's fairly small, probably smaller than the Greek Theatre. Basically the pit, orchestra seating with 3 sections and then the lawn seating. Acoustics weren't bad but weren't great either. They had a decent selection of food and drink but only one main cafe that had limited selections. I would recommend eating before you arrive. Can't beat free parking, though took us about 15 minutes to get back on the highway after taking some back beaten dirt road. Now I see why some would pay for preferred. read more

An amazing venue located little ol' Paso Robles. Allow me to elaborate. * Easy parking (free with an across the street short walk, but Premium is available right outside the entrance) * Super clean, nice service, and food and drink stands. * There isn't a bad seat in the house, even the lawn has a good view. There's standard stadium seating, followed by a section of box seats, then the lawn. My first impression: ================= This is not LA at all. So easy, so clean, and so close and convenient to everything. My last impression: ================= We walked to our car and left in minutes. Wow. This never happens. One down side: ============== Because it's a boutique small place, they don't have side screens for close-ups. I've become used to that attending to concerts around the globe. read more

The theatre itself is fantastic. The lines to the bathrooms can be rather long. Of course, worse part was getting out. Took about 1/2 hour to get out and I believe we were lucky. We did not leave early as we all wanted to see the whole concert. We saw Robert Plant and Allison Krauss were good. My girlfriend and her husband came from North Carolina to see them and bought the tickets. My husband and I enjoyed but some of their music just isn't our type. The amphitheater itself is amazing! If you have Celiac or have gluten sensitivity, make sure you eat ahead of time because they DO NOT have any gluten free options other than caramel corn and brownies. The venue used to serve carnitas tacos, but now they only serve it in sandwich form. I was so disappointed that they don't have options! read more

I've been to Vina Robles Amphitheater several times, and it continues to be hands down my favorite venue. No matter where you sit, the views are great, the sound is solid, and the whole venue is clean, well-paved, and easy to navigate. Compared to the Mid-State Fair, Vina Robles wins every time. It's more intimate, organized, and relaxing. This time, we decided to eat at the venue to save time instead of going out for dinner. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. I had high hopes for the pizza, the large oven made it look promising, but it was extremely bland and lacked flavor. If I were rating the experience based on the food alone, it'd be a 2-star. That said, the dessert and coffee were a nice surprise and helped redeem the dining experience a bit. As always, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the show itself was fantastic. Despite the food misstep, I'll definitely be back. Vina Robles is a gem. Tip: Buy tickets at the box office if you can. That's saved us $80!! read more

I visited Vina Robles Amphitheatre for a concert and I really enjoyed the venue! This is an outdoor venue and it is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. The seated area is laid out in such a way that looked easy to maneuver and they even offered seating in the grass areas. I had GA passes and I was right on the barricade. The security staff near the stage was super nice and even provided us with bottled water towards the middle of the show! I didn't eat any of the food or purchase any drinks, but there appeared to be a decent selection of snacks and beer. The bathrooms were small and had quite a line, but that is expected for any venue. My biggest complaint about this place was that the parking staff was kind of rough. I parked my car where they told me to, then I got out and stood next to my car with the door open for a moment they were barking at me to "get out of the parking lot" because apparently you aren't allowed to walk or stand in the parking lot, even though I was only there less than a minute to put my sweater on. All in all - this is a beautiful venue with mostly kind and courtesy staff. I would recommend coming here for a fun, outdoor concert! read more

There is pleasure in being outdoors, being able to see the sunset and the stars while watching a show. The sitting is not as comfortable as it could be even at the vip tables. For seniors, this is a problem! The staff is always cordial and attempts to accommodate personal needs. Yet we need more comfortable sitting arrangements for the people who do not choose to sit on the grass and get tickets for the table. read more

Wow!! Such a seamless experience! And a gorgeous venue -- I get country club vibes with how clean and classy everything is. From the moment you drive in, you're directed to where to park, so there's no wandering around looking for a spot -- it's so efficient. Then there are clear and safe paths for you to make your way to the metal detectors and ticket scanners, which are also super easy and hassle free. Once you're inside, the concessions are all easily accessible with menu items and prices displayed (anything beyond a water or coffee is about $10-15) and the bathrooms are at the top of the stairs on each side of the stage. They're well-maintained and super clean! The entire time, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and it's easy to find your seat in time for the show. And once it's time to leave, it's as seamless as entering the venue. My ONLY qualm of the evening is that there was an ungodly amount of cheese in my garlic cheese fries LMAO, which just goes to show how well the entire night went! read more

Care about your car and personal safety? You better pay for parking. Free parking exit is garbage and people opting to use it should be warned ahead of time as to how bad it really is rather than finding out at 1100 at night with people who have been drinking tailgating you. Be prepared to drive miles out of your way through ridiculously steep dark hills on a one way road with no room to turn around if something goes wrong. Be ready for a normal car to bottom out several times on this route and then wait forever to be able to get back across highway 46 once you finally make your way back. What a great way to ruin an otherwise excellent evening. read more

Poor ratings are notable for food and parking; however, I believe you go see your favored band or performance for the heightened enjoyment with what that brings you; i.e., average price per ticket, seating comfort, lighting, sound system, etc. Saying there's no bad seat in the house means so much so that all can enjoy, not just those willing to pay up, which I did being how much my hubby and I adore the Avett brothers! Vina Robles Amphitheatre is one of the nicest, cleanest, and most beautiful amphitheaters I have ever attended. On our honeymoon, we were very fortunate to have Flogging Molly, The Interrupters, and Tiger Army playing a short distance from where we were staying. I grew up near Mountain View, so I frequented the legendary Shoreline Amphitheatre regularly, and thought that no other amphitheater could compare. Boy was I wrong! Vina Robles compares and exceeds. It is a smaller venue than Shoreline, which is understandable since it caters to a smaller market. We had lawn seats, which was perfect because we had plenty of room for our blanket, and were not smooshed like sardines at any point. The concessions and beverages stands were really upscale! We got some wine and a pretzel, but they had a lot of options, like pizza! I'll have to try that next time. The concert was amazing, and we had a really great time. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town. read more

Best smaller amphitheater for a concert I have ever been in...ever! Saw the BareNakedLadies with a girlfriend in June. This concert hosting facility is attached to the Vina Robles winery. As other reviews highlight, parking is clearly orchestrated by staff as you enter and is at no charge. The facility is super clean. The wine and food options are really quite nice and delicious. The staff from parking to pizza were all really nice. We showed up an hour early before the opening acts, threw down our blanket in the grassy general admission area and secured a great view of the concert. Although I tried to look up all of my own questions prior to arrival, things that became clearer after entering.... *In the summer, the sun goes down later and the sun is on you in the grassy GA area, so be prepared with hat, sunscreen or whatever if you don't like the sun like me. The sun sets behind the main stage. *You can bring in water. Although I assumed that security would not allow you to enter the facility with water, most people had refillable water bottles or containers. *The covered structure covering the sound guys that was located in the front middle of grassy area that seems to block viewing from the grassy area was entirely disabled prior to the concert, so that area was not actually obstructing viewing at all once concert started. So I would think if you threw your blanket down there, that the structure would be removed for all concerts. Not 100% on this, but this is what I observed. Really a nice concert venue and the Paso Robles region is lucky to have this gem of a spot. read more

What a lovely venue! Easy to get in and park (though getting out took a bit of time) and all employees were so friendly! Luckily we weren't hungry, as there seemed to be limited food options. We enjoyed some beer, seltzer, and wine. We were told that they didn't give out wine in carafes anymore so they had to pour the bottle out into glasses; but then the people in front of us had wine in a carafe so who knows? We had a great time here last night watching the Weird AL Yankovic the Unfortunate Return of Vanity Tour concert. Our seats were great and it was an excellent show all around. The facility is very nicely appointed. The staff was super friendly and helpful, we arrived about an hour before showtime and we were helped to the handicap parking when we showed our handicap parking pass to the staff. They were great in assisting us to the seats without our asking and that was really great of them. Much appreciated the extra attention and care for the disabled. That was really lovely. They have very well appointed bathrooms which were exceptionally clean both before during and after the event ended. Lines were not very long at all which I thought was great. Concessions abound there are a lot of options. We went to dinner before the show so we just grabbed some water and soda and did not grab a snack but what they had all looked tasty and was fairly priced for a concert venue all things considered. Waters were $3 each and sodas were $4 each which isn't terrible I pay more at the local movie theater so that wasn't the worst all things considered. As for the show itself the seats were great we really don't think there's a bad seat in the house that included the lawn seats. The one thing I wish I had done was bring a warmer jacket it did get windy and the light coat I brought was not really warm enough with the amount of winds that the pit near the stage created. Next time I will bring a lap blanket and a warmer longer jacket that covers my back better so I'm not so chilly by the end of the night. Other than that it was a great time and I will definitely be coming back again for another show! It might also be a smart idea to bring a seat cushion along if you have arthritis or sore hips/knees as well if you're older like me and tend to get sore sitting on a hard surface long periods of time. I've been to Vina many times. Most staff and security are really nice and and I love going there. Other then drink prices going up I usually love going there. Thursday Oct 3rd I had a very different experience. First of all, although we didn't realize until we got home. We asked for 2x shirts and got xl shirts. But the real issue, was this. My friend who rode with us, had issues with security getting people out of the seats they paid for. Apparently security was not doing their jobs pretty well. They were also rude and such to my friends. It was nothing like my usual experience there. I love going to shows there. I dont want anything like this to happen in the future. read more

This was my first time at the Amphitheater, despite having wanted to see other acts. The amphitheater was pretty nice, and was able to seemingly accommodate everyone fairly well. My wife and I sat on the grass, at the top, and I can't complain, it was fairly comfortable. The gripes I do have are with the concessions. A hotdog priced at $9 should be offered up with a little bit more than ketchup and mustard, and I would expect a winery to do better than that - I also expect high prices, but $20 for a chicken sandwich is nuts. The food would also benefit being served with a tray, not cumbersome, clumsy, individual boxes, they do alright giving a drink holder with the wine, but the cups don't fit well. My biggest gripe of the night was the very warm wine that was served. I'm not a wine snob, but it shouldn't be served at 90 degrees Fahrenheit. It just shouldn't, especially if you're charging $50 a bottle. This review is just for VRA. The act we saw, Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias kicked some serious ass. They get some great acts, they really do. They need to up their game, though. Would I go back? Yeah, but I'm eating dinner, getting a buzz and taking an Uber to and from. read more

We LOVE Vina Robles! Been there multiple times. It's a small and beautiful amphitheater. Almost all seats are good and responsibly priced. The venue is very clean and offers great food and beverage options. They get great groups and the crowds are typically well behaved and respectful. And the staff are VERY nice and friendly! One thing that was an issue for us was getting out of the parking lot after our last concert. We had to park way in the back of the dirt lot. When leaving, they made us go to the right along an unpaved road and it took us almost 30 minutes to drive on the road to get highway 46 after the concert. We had no idea where we were since there's really no signage. We just followed all of the other cars. Since it took us 20 minutes to get out of the lot, we spent almost an hour after the concert just to get on 46. Our house is downtown Paso so typically it takes 10 minutes to get to and from Vina Robles. We noticed that if you are parked closer to the venue, they let you drive out on the road you come in on and it takes 2 minutes to get to 46. It's not going to deter us from going to more concerts but we'll certainly factor all of the extra time to get out for the future. read more
