We enjoyed a charming evening at Vinca last night. The restaurant itself is quaint, warm, and inviting a lovely setting for dinner with family and friends. The highlight of the evening was the superb service. Our waiter was professional, kind, attentive, and genuinely diligent in making sure everyone at the table was comfortable and well cared for throughout the evening. His warmth and patience, especially with two tired young children in our party late in the evening, were greatly appreciated. The appetizers were excellent, and the bread was truly superb. Most of the meal was enjoyable, though a few dishes did not quite live up to their descriptions. The lentil soup, unfortunately, was rather bland and forgettable, lacking flavor and depth. Two entrées the tilapia specialty and a risotto-style dish also felt somewhat overstated compared to expectations and unfortunately they were way over salted. To the restaurant's credit, concerns were addressed politely and professionally, though the offer of a replacement felt a bit scripted as the evening was growing late. We did choose not to accept the replacement. Overall, however, the atmosphere, hospitality, and thoughtful service made for a very pleasant evening. I don't do many 5 star reviews but Vinca was very deserving. I waited for our second visit before submitting a review just to ensure that our first visit wasn't an anomaly. After our 2nd visit I can honestly say this has been one of our favorite establishments after moving to Colorado. Very convenient location, lots of parking, great wine list, and amazing food..what more can you ask for..oh yeah the service is fantastic. On this visit my wife ordered with their charcuterie board which she loves. I decided to try their Ribeye Steak. I usually hesitate ordering steak because I don't want to be disappointed. Vinca's ribeye was one of the best steaks I've had at a restaurant in a long time. Cooked a perfect medium rare, it was seasoned right and the texture was almost melt in your mouth. A convenient spot if you are in the Broomfield area. The food is good quality and value and there is a large wine selection. To find a better option would require going to Denver or Boulder. It's never been overly crowded when I've dined here, and even with a several couples, it's still quiet and the service has always been very good. What a wonderful dinner and such a calm, inviting energy to be surrounded by with great company. From the moment we sat down, everything about the experience was wo. Between the four of us, we tried a wide variety of dishes, and every single one was fresh, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. Each plate that came out somehow topped the last, thoughtful flavors, perfect portions, and clear attention to detail. You can truly taste the care and talent behind the food. The service was just as impressive, warm, attentive, and perfectly timed without ever feeling rushed. A big thank you to our server, Matt, who was fantastic and made the entire evening even more enjoyable. And compliments to Chef Savon, clearly he knows exactly what he's doing. Positives - nice space, plenty of parking Service - we were a large party so I give them some grace, but the service was basically awful. Took quite some time to take our orders, to the point where we all agreed we would order everything not just drinks. The drink service included missed orders orders, incorrect orders and not sure who ordered what. Food took forever to come out and 3 of the entrees were missing. By the time those people got their meals, the rest of us were finished. I can only speak for my dish which was shrimp and pasta slightly undercooked, served barely lukewarm and pretty flavorless. It probably is not this bad all the time, but at the prices they charge, which aren't exorbitant, 3 starts is being generous. read more

Enjoyed a great Groundhogs Day dinner special featuring two wonderful plates, duck confit or venison ragout, a glass of wine or beer for $55. Expected small plates for the price, but pleasantly surprised by the ample and tasty meals. Our server Brynne, was attentive and friendly which always makes for nice dinner experience. After we finished our meals, we had to try the desserts and dived into an apple strudel and a chocolate mousse. Both heavenly! Vinca has a huge wine list and features a European dinner menu. Some of these bad reviews are odd. I thought Vinca was quite good. Wine was excellent, staff super friendly. And food pretty damn good. I was pleasantly surprised because I indented to go to the steakhouse next door but they were filled and a little aloof. So I gave this spot a chance. Had the split pea soup which was delightful. Not sure what the point of the ham shreds were but the soup and bacon bits were delicious. For my main I got the Beef Bourguignon. Really good and hearty. I'm no expert on Beef Bourguignon but it tasted good to me. Recommend this nice spot! read more

This was one of our absolute favorite restaurants - not just in Boulder County, but the state. On our last visit, while the service was outstanding, the food did not live up to our previous expectations. Scallops were undercooked - totally raw in the center, and the Shrimp Linguini wasn't even Olive Garden worthy. Pasta undercooked, even hard and stuck together in, not one, but several places. Small shrimp seemed right out of package - the dish possessed no flavor. The ambiance with the quality cutlery and stemwear (at least the water glasses) that made the place feel a "cut above" are all gone now. The attention to detail that made this place a stand out was not present. Maybe all of that attention went to the Boulder location? I just know we will not be back. read more

The waiter didn't even pour waters, and only came by to check on the table once (in over two hours)! The pricing was ridiculous and unreasonably expensive given the quality ($5 to split plates, which in practice meant bringing out a salad plate to split the dish yourself, and another $5 for two slices of bread, on top of $45+ dishes). The service was slow/non-existent. The bread came out burnt and the duck appetizer was under cooked. We waited for over an hour without being checked only to have to flag down our server for status. Our meal came out 10 minutes after that poorly prepared. The risotto was not fully cooked and crunchy, the lamb came out extremely overcooked, the "wagyu" steak, didn't appear to be wagyu and was drenched in an ill prepared sauce. When we brought our concerns to the manager she was rude and dismissive. They reluctantly took some items off our bill but truly, the whole thing should gave been comped as nobody finished their food. So dissatisfied. We know things happen in a restaurant, but it's how you respond and deal with it that can make all the difference. I am going to try and unpack as succinctly as possible. We live in Denver and our friends live in Longmont so Broomfield is a half way meeting point. Our friends selected this restaurant. As I say in all my reviews, eating is an experience so everything matters. I have to believe this place was some casual dining prior to Vinca. There are tile floors with a large granite counter that serves no purpose. Certainly not the ambience of fine dining to represent the prices on the menu. I was confused on their brand. Are we Eastern European, Italian, fusion? Are they fine dining or casual? This is a real identity crisis here. I would absolutely skip cocktails- do not be fooled, there is an art to craft a good cocktail. Vinca carries high end spirits, but the mixology is not there. I seriously had the worst gin dirty martini and my friend's cocktails were no better. The wine list is impressive if you want to spend $$$. But again the dichotomy between the menu, atmosphere and wine/alcohol list is so disjointed. I honestly do not know how they make money. There is complimentary bread which I think may be focaccia. My friends tell me it was good. The server was exceptional- informative, kind and responsive. I will say the service was slow, but since we had some catching I to do that worked in our favor. The food was mediocre at best. I can and will go into detail, but honestly I think they would do best to stick to Eastern European - just my opinion. Burrata- served with arugula and tomatoes. Tomatoes are out of season in November so maybe do a tomato jam or something in season. Vienna Schnitzel- this was veal which is a big deal, but the breading was falling off and in a big pile of mashed potatoes. Not upscale Fettuccine bolognese- OMG this was outright terrible. I am Italian and took offense, but my Colorado friend even said this is not bolognese. No flavor and like glue. We ordered the apple strudel which was unremarkable- the apples tasted as if they were freeze burned and no taste. Terrible There is an identity problem with this restaurant and low quality food. This was simply an amazingly good meal. I also had one the best Rye Old Fashion cocktails ever. A classy but welcoming atmosphere. A professional efficient friendly staff. The lamb was so good, I ordered the venison to go and felt guilty because I wouldn't get to see the venison in its full glory. The lamb was a complete dish everything complimented each other. If you don't like this restaurant maybe you are a picky vegan or vegetarian. I could not recommend this restaurant enough. The service and the wine were unquestionably great. Food was excellent as well- although I think I slightly preferred hickory and ash for more interesting and flavorful food. We had the shrimp risotto- which was perfectly cooked, but could have used some pop. The beef ragout was the same- tasty, but could have been more interesting. We also had the nibbolo and the Rhône, both of which were good and smooth reds. The crème brûlée had a baked cherry on top but didn't feel special. Reservations were easy to make online. We went here for dinner tonight. I was sooo looking forward to coming here. I have wanted to go to Vinca for the last year and tonight we finally did. Unfortunately the drinks were just okay and the food was super mediocre. They were out of mussels and lamb so those weren't options We ended up getting bruschetta, scallops and some mains. ALL of them were just okay. The scallops were underdone/raw and we sent them back. I had the schnitzel with mashed potatoes and it was really unremarkable. My wife and friends had various pastas and everyone commented how disappointed they were. Unfortunately after wanting to go here for a year, it is very unlikely we will ever go back. read more

Total disappointment. As a wine focused restaurant the wine by the glass menu was sparse. I lived in CA wine country. I founded a winery. I have numerous friends that own wineries. I know how wine dinners are hosted. Vinca is nothing but a Poser. The ambiance was bland. The music was annoying obtrusive jazz piano. The service was slow. The waiter was a nice young man, but he is operating in a poor environment. It was Saturday night and there were maybe 6 tables in use. I wanted to counsel him to take his talent elsewhere where he would make a lot more money. Then the food... The bruscetta was nearly unrecognizable. One bite was enough. The entree took a long time to be served. It was unremarkable. The dessert, chocolate mousse, was runny. It's hard to make chocolate unappetizing but they did it. The sad part is we were given a generous gift certificate which we were using to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. I cannot tell the giver how bad the experience was. The amount of the certificate exceeded our bill plus a generous tip (can't blame the waiter) so we left a balance which we will never use. I will tell whomever asks to skip Vinca. Hopefully the next tenant will be better at just about everything. read more

Fantastic. My wife and I met a friend for dinner and drinks on the patio. They don't do martinis (or any vodka drinks) so I got the platinum margarita and the other two each got a glass of wine. Their wine selection is good, with quite a few unfamiliar but good options. Both of them enjoyed the wines and my margarita was wonderful! We also nibbled on the Goat Cheese Mascarpone which was nicely tangy and sweet. For dinner I got the schnitzel. It was two pieces nicely browned with very tasty potatoes and greens. My wife got the cod and our other diner got the salmon, but asked for it with most of the cod's accompaniments. They gladly substituted and both of them said the fish was flaky and superbly prepared and they finished off everything on their plates. The complimentary bread is delicious and our server regularly checked in on us and was personable and efficient. All in all a very wonderful experience. read more

Then it took over 45 minutes to get our food. No one checked on us during that timeframe. No explanation was given for the long wait. We arrived excited as the menu looked fantastic. Service was friendly, but I noticed there was only one person on the floor and one bartender. Took 15 mins to get our drinks. Ordered a risotto shrimp ball appetizer and that took 45 mins to get. And it tasted like a Long John silvers hush puppy. I'm not impressed. Waited an additional 30 mins after that for dinner, with anticipation for getting Osso Bucco and fresh Red Snapper. Sadly, was was so very disappointing. The osso bucco was dry, tough, tasteless, and had no marrow left in it. And the fish was so salty and overcooked that I couldn't try more than one bite. Sent it back. They then sent another one out that was raw. We didn't eat either dish and complained of both, but we had been there 2 hours already and didn't want to even attempt another dish. We just asked for our check, and the first one was fully priced w no discount. Then, the bartender brought us another check w the fish taken off. I appreciated that, even though they should have removed the $50 Osso Bucco as well. We enjoyed the kindness of the service, the food has a great concept but failed miserably to be considered good. Sadly, we paid $125 to be still hungry as we didn't eat any of the food. Frozen pizza at home ended up being our dinner. Sad evening! read more

We were visiting my daughter this past August, when we gave Vinca a chance to shine. Because my daughter has much fewer opportunities to dine upscale, it meant a great deal to us. Vinca failed us in every single category. The wait time between courses was almost insulting. Three courses took 2 1/2 hours....and Vinca was, at most, 40 percent capacity. The pastas tasted as if dishwater had been mixed into the sauce; meats cold and unappetizing. Complaints during the course of the meal resulted in a small glass of an after dinner cocktail....on the house...nothing more, as in an apology. read more
