The food, the service and the ambiance was all amazing. The restaurant overlooks a beautiful lake with a fountain . The ambiance inside is also beautiful and It feels like home because the staff and owners are so nice and welcoming. This is my parents' favorite restaurant. They go there every Thursday and I can see why. I met the owner Deedee and Alexa was our waitress. They were so nice and everything tasted amazing. Can't wait to go back and hopefully get to sit outside overlooking the beautiful view if the weather permits. read more

This was my wife and I first time there the food was at best dinner like with the prices of an upscale restaurant the chicken was dry and shrimp scampi looked more like an appetizer that said our waitress was very pleasant and the rest of the staff seemed really friendly but the food is way overpriced. read more

Transcendent Pizza. Been going for years, a lovely family red sauce Italian restaurant in the country. We typically get a Marsala Parmigiana or pasta dish. This time, on a whim, we asked how the pizza was, and our server said really good. We were a little wary of the deep dish description because the Chicago version can be really doughy. She said it was not too deep. We ordered the special with meatballs, sausage, onions, and held off on the peppers. Both my partner and I agreed it was spectacular. I'd say the best pizza I've ever had and that includes all the New Haven joints. Really nice crust, slightly sweet and firm. Great sausage and meatballs. Well, first understand the history. We've been going to this family owned and operated business for 40+ years. I taught all 3 "girls", daughters of the owner. I had a delightful visit reminiscing about days gone past, about bringing my own kids there to have pizza and play mini golf. We reminisced about going for pizza after chaperoning basketball games. It's really the first inside dinner we've had since the beginning of the pandemic but everything was laid out beautifully. Tables were far apart, service was great, and the food was as good as I remembered. When they were alive, my parents loved going there. My father, being Italian and FUSSY about sauce, loved this authentic Italian food. My husband had his favorite, veal parmigiana and I had the combination veal/eggplant parmigiana. I had a really good glass of reasonably priced Reisling and my husband had a glass of Pinot Noir. We ended with house made gelato. My husband had the strawberry and I had the butter pecan. My partner and I had a lovely dinner last week at Vince Anna's. It is essentially just down the road from us, but we somehow forget it's there. That night, I was embarrassingly one of "those people." Not sure what happened, but I was more demanding and fussy than usual. The staff dealt with me with such grace, good humor, and generosity! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We appreciated how quiet the restaurant was. The decor may not have been updated in the past couple of decades, but everything was clean and comfortable. Bonus: Kingfishers and deer were hanging out by the pond out back. read more

I have been there a total of 3 times. The 3rd time totally sealed the decision that I, and my friends will not be coming back ever again. The first two visits were mainly due to convenience. I went there a bit over 1 year ago and the food is quite disappointing. I remember getting burnt garlic bread and the Italian dishes lacks flavors. The 3rd time we went was this weekend and as soon as we walked in, the waitress says "we are full for the evening, it is reservation only. It has been reservation for over a year." We have walked in to dine for the first 2 times. I can fully understand that it is reservation only now and you guys are full, but it was her cocky sassy attitude that sealed the decision for us not to ever return. There are other Italian restaurants nearby that have much greater foods and service. Goodbye! read more

Awful food: Shrimp in Shrimp Scampi with the consistency of hand balls. Veal Saltimbocca swimming in oil, skimpy portions of pasta side dishes, antipasto/salad encased in a thick coating of salad dressing,, cheap, supermarket sliced bread. I have been goin there for years foods been mediocre at best but decent and close by. I am a 35% tipper minimum and always polite. Google says they are open til 8 i walk in today at 6:41 they turned us away saying sorry our last seating is at 6:30. We first came here 15 years ago and it was the place to take visiting family. The atmosphere is great on the deck. The interior is dated. We recently ate here again when family visited and not much has changed. Your standard Italian American food that was ok. read more

It's so nice to have a wonderful Italian restaurant so close to home. Jimmy makes the most amazing soups and his homemade bread is scrumptious. The eggplant rollatini, perfectly tender and brimming with ricotta is my favorite entree, but so are the stuffed shells slathered in the best red sauce I've tasted, and the chicken cacciatore with tons of earthy mushrooms is crazy good too! How's a girl to choose? It's hard to resist the creamy, decadent homemade gelato for dessert! Although the restaurant is quite large (great for a birthday party or bridal shower), it feels welcoming and cozy. Sometimes in the winter, it's fun to watch deer cross the frozen pond and come for a visit. The many windows provide gorgeous views. In the summer, the large deck provides additional seating and takes full advantage of the beautiful pond. And Vince Anna's staff are wonderful! This is an slightly out-of-the way restaurant that we have dined at a number of times. We thought the food was pretty good in the past but the last dinner we had was not up to their previous standard. Three out of three of our dinners had sauce you could not call Marinara and was not much more than tomato sauce. I had sweet sausage that was dried out and flaky. Our friend had Whitefish she did not like. My wife had Fried Shrimp Parm that was over breaded and smothered with too much cheese and the same "tomato" sauce. This restaurant has been running since the 50s but its quality is slipping. Hopefully this review will be a wake up call to the chef. read more

My family has been coming to VA's since 1963. The food was, and continues to be, wonderful. All of the sauces/gravies vary depending on the food you order. If you know sauces/gravies you will know them to be wonderful. Jimmy, the owner/chef, makes his own wonderful Italilan sausage. Just out of this world! The veal dishes are incredible. Highly recommend both the blue cheese dressing (homemade) and the french onion soup. The stuffed artichoke appetizer is incredible as is the chef's rendition of fettuccine alfredo. We also have noted that the wine list has recently been updated and there is a nice selection of mid priced wines that are truly very nice! The wait staff is always attentive and very kind. The best compliment I have ever heard related to VA's comes from my now 90 year old father who was born and raised in Brooklyn's Bensonhurst section (a true little Italy neighborhood). Dad claims he has never had better calamari over linguine in his life and praises the sauce to high heaven. You will not be disappointed. The other wonderful thing about VA's is, oddly enough, the wonderful location! It sits on a beautiful lake just outside the little hamlet of South Westerlo NY. Plenty of signs on state route 32 to guide you there. Deer come down to the lakeside at night to graze on the lush grass and we have even seen bald eagles visit the lake...........the ducks are not to pleased however! Visit Vince Anna's!
