I wanted to like this shop but every time I went in it was quite awkward just a emotionless look and a soft hi that you can barely hear from the owner, but every time I would buy something. Took my bike in for a small maintenance job and it was so sloppy that is wasn't even properly done, I show him and he's like " oh ya " the wild part is I was talking to vince asking if he was busy these days he replied "it's pretty slow" Then why such a quick sloppy job that wasn't properly done? Also why not inflate the tires back up if you let air out? Because I know 100% I didn't bring my bike in with low pressure. I hate that I am writing this but I hope you learn from this to better your customer service skills and encourages you to take pride in your work vince no mater how big or small the job is. This review is long overdue as this is the second time I've had bikes serviced by them - - the first time was a year ago and the second was a few days ago. I can't think of a more deserving local shop. Last year I had high end bikes for my twin boys that I needed assembled. With it being their first pedal bikes that also had hand brakes, I didn't want to chance the bikes falling apart mid ride. When I first met the owner Vince and wife, Aimee, they were friendly and busy and it was somewhat last second but they were able to accommodate me and get the bikes built before Christmas. Fast forward to a year later and I have another set of bikes for my twins. I wouldn't trust these bikes and the bike safety of my kids' with anyone else but this shop. Again, it was a few days before Christmas and they turned the bikes around a day later. They also have honest and helpful advice about the bikes' equipment. There is never any pressure to buy accessories or anything else although on my own I wanted to purchase additional grips. The bikes look amazing and well put together thanks to Vince and Aimee. When I someday have time to buy and ride my own nice bike which is hopefully this summer, I'll definitely come to this shop. My son Adam decided that he wanted to restore his bike that we got him when he was 7. It was full of stickers, the chain was rusty, the brakes were in serious disrepair, and it was missing some important nuts. He still wanted to ride it. He loves that bike. Cut to about 3 weeks ago when he started to restore it. He sanded it, painted it, and put some things on it. It still needed a lot of work. That's when we found Vince's Cyclery not far from us. The owner, Vince and his wife Aimee are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about bikes. They are located just off the San Gabriel River Trail on Carson St. in Lakewood, so if you have bike trouble, you don't have far to walk to get your bike fixed. Adam and the owners took an immediate liking to each other. Vince offered to complete the restoration on our son's bike. He payed it forward and presented Adam (you can see the video on their Facebook page- Vince's Cyclery) with the rest of the parts needed to finish the job free of charge!!! 2 days later, Adam is thrilled to have his bike back!!!
