Loved this place great location I went for lunch and was pleasantly surprised how good the pear salad was. Also I loved their calamari it's one of the best I've tasted in the area. The service was great they know everything in the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is very clean and large they also got private events they had baby shower but didn't interfere with my lunch either way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd definitely go back again and try their dinner next time

Wanted to a grab a drink, remembered seeing this place, so I came by. Large venue with an upscale NYC vibe. Metered street parking & a very small private lot. Only sat at the bar for drinks, but eventually ordered some appetizers. Service was great, our bartender was so nice & her drink mixes were perfection. Wish I had caught her name to shout her out. Will be back to explore more of the menu. Grades: Lychee Martini (not pictured): A Apple Martini: A+ Truffle Parmesan Fries: A Shrimp Cocktail: A

First time here got it from the real housewives of New Jersey. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The aesthetic is beautiful when you walk in there's a fire pit wide, open decor, classy liquor bottles on the wall very cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our reservation was honored. Service was very good, but also we felt that we were rushed. Everything came out very quickly. We were done eating in an hour and a half. Food was good I would go back. Parking was a little rough. It's street parking only.

Relatively expensive and tasty The room is well appointed and comfortable, taking advantage of the high ceiling. The food is good, not great. The presentation is nice and the portions are generous. The service is attentive and helpful. Overall Vine and Oak is a good addition the Cranford restaurant options.

I came to vine and oak for brunch for my friend's birthday. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant has a classy look to it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was really nice and accommodating. The butter for the bread was unique, it had a sweet herby taste to it. The tres leches french toast was different than what i expected. I thought it would be soaked like a traditional tres leches cake but it wasn't. Nonetheless, it was still tasty. The springe sangria was a nice cocktail. One of my friends really loved the fish tacos and everyone enjoyed the fries. Keep in mind that there is street parking available but its on a busy street. It was an overall nice time and I would love to come back for dinner.

Saw friends post about Vine and Oak Tavern. Decided to make reservations. We arrived early- had drinks at the bar. Then proceeded to the dinning area. We said we were going to share the beet salad- hubby and I each got a salad. Beautifully presented. Entrees were tasty. Really liked the crème brûlée. Nice ambiance. Our Server Danny was attentive. Silverware changed with each course. He brought me a to go container and bag for my entree! Thank you Street parking.

First time was a winner. We shared the peach salad which was done very nicely. My wife chose the pork chop and i chose the braised short rib. Needless to say both dishes were delicious. Had a nice bottle of wine the creme brulee and the night was a hit. The place is very pretty with a NYC and VEGAS bar setup. We truly enjoyed our first time and will be back again. Service also was good. Prices for a steak house are very reasonale.

Great ambience and service. Went for drinks and appetizers and got the Burrata and charcuterie board with wine. Service was very attentive and pleasant. They have a good wine selection as well. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

My nephew who lives nearby treated us to an al fresco meal recently while visiting for a family event. My pulled pork smashed burger was everything you want in a packed meat sandwich, with an onion ring and tangy sauce on the brioche bun. The sweet potato fries and a refreshing mocktail to drink made for a perfect meal. Sweetie ate a pasta bolognese (I think) which looked and ate good, and drowned it with a nice glass of red wine. It was packed on the Friday night we visited, with folks lined up for seating, or to hang at the bar and enjoy the bar scene. No reservations. Our late dinner worked fine as the mostly millennial and Gen-Z crowd started thinning shortly after we arrived. Millburn has always been a draw for neighboring townsfolk in search of a meal out. I remember this foodie town from 25 years ago, when its pizza, kosher and diner offerings were top notch. It seems to have upgraded its food scene several notches since my last visit so many years ago. Pure nostalgia for me which made for a very flavorful evening. TOP TIP: Street parking in this part of town is a hassle and the local cops keep a sharp eye for illegally parked cars and inebriated drivers. So park further away from the center of town where you are more likely to snag a legal spot on a busy night.

The food is so creative, fresh, and delicious, the service is attentive and knowledgeable and consistent (not the norm in the suburbs), and we love the ambiance. It was a gorgeous night to sit outside, but we opted for our favorite - bar seats to watch the action. It's hard to find this level of consistency and creativity even in NYC, but to have it right here in Maplewood is so wonderful. So many restaurants in the suburbs rely on frozen, pre-made items from large restaurant supply chains that finding innovative cooking completely from scratch is a real challenge. In a sea of mediocre restaurants, Perla lives up to its name: a true gem! We have been so impressed by the daily specials this summer. We started out with a scallop crudo with yuzu, jalapeno, and shallots that is my favorite crudo right now. We followed that with the new shrimp tostada and I'm only sorry we didn't order two. Later in our meal, I spied a couple at the other end of the bar who did it right: the wife took one bite and immediately ordered a second one so that she wouldn't have to share. This is the second time we've had the tomato salad with olives, shiso, and white balsamic and I can't get over the flavor combination - it's so unexpected and addictive. We can't pass up the broiled oysters with garlic butter, Calabrian chili, and crispy shallots - a dish I was obsessed with the moment I tried it at a pop-up event before the restaurant even existed. Then we had the broiled branzino with lemon, capers, and a watercress salad - again, the only mistake was not ordering two! We were actually down the shore yesterday, but came home because we were craving this dish. We finished off our meal with anchovy toast, which our favorite dessert paired with a crisp Txakolina. It's four pieces of toasted baguette with a generous spread of really good butter topped with one piece of salt-cured anchovy and one boqueron (a pickled anchovy). I can't recommend this dish highly enough, it is perfectly balanced! We love a BYOB, but it is such a luxury that we can order right from our phones at the restaurant from a local wine shop (Lum's Cellars). It's a curated list that has some really fantastic options that all go so well with the cuisine. We started with an Alberiño and then ordered the Txakolina. No notes! We can't wait for our next meal at Perla.

One of the times I went was on a Wednesday and the place was packed our wait was about 20 mins and it was well worth it. The menu changes daily so don't go back expecting to get the same thing you ordered the last time. To be quite honest of all the items I ordered two did not stand out although sounding promising The lobster roll, the bread was mediocre and the filling was scarce. The pizzette was also ehhh. Nothing impressionable. However the oysters, fully dressed and ready for consumption were pops of freshness and flavorful jellies exploding in your mouth. The corn was a nice touch. The mussels were in this sauce that was to die for. Full of garlic and creaminess paired with about 3 slices of sourdough bread perfect for soaking. The crostini appetizer, drooling thinking about it. Prosciutto with honey and mozzarella is the best combination.now for the chicken Milanese. Perfectly crisp with tomatoes I'm not sure what they put in the salad but delicious! Overall it's worth a happy hour with great deals. And even the dinner entrees are worth the visit. However, some of the dishes i tried order were already sold out and we were a 730 reservation so i was surprised about that . Food I ordered their " Rasta Pasta w/ Salmon " i was expecting it to be actually spicy and it was devoid of spice. pasta was cooked good though and the veggies were also cooked well. The salmon though was a bit dry for my liking but it wasn't too bad that it was inedible. Overall, i'm glad i tried this spot , however i think the ambience outshines the food here. I'm willing to try other things though to see what else is on their menu and i did see they do have brunch.

Our entire party wasn't there yet, but we were seated anyway, which I really appreciated. The staff checked in on us consistently without being overbearing, and while we waited for the rest of our party, we were asked if we wanted a drink. That small gesture stood out to me because a lot of restaurants will make you wait until everyone arrives before they even offer you anything. Here, they made us feel welcomed right away. Now, the food. We ordered the steak and eggs, island oxtail burrito, island burger with egg, and I decided to make my own combination. I ordered the Ou La wings and asked if I could get a side of diri jon jon (Haitian black mushroom rice). They were happy to accommodate the request, and everyone enjoyed their meals. One thing that really impressed me was how quickly an issue with the steak was handled. The steak had been ordered medium well, but came out well done. It was mentioned, and once it was brought to the chef's attention, the chef came back just a couple of minutes later with the steak prepared the way it was originally requested. A big deal wasn't made about it, so the fact that he took the initiative to correct it so quickly said a lot to me about how seriously they take their customers and food. And then there was the kremas! I noticed that they had a cocktail called Café Kremas, which is essentially an espresso version of a traditional kremas. It sounded interesting, but I really wanted to try the kremas by itself. I asked, and they were more than happy to accommodate me. Again, that willingness to listen and make the customer happy really stood out. The ambiance is beautiful. Everything feels thoughtfully designed, from the aesthetics to the layout. There's a separate bar area, and you can actually see the chefs working and preparing the food, which adds to the experience. Ou La is doing something special. The food was good, the atmosphere is beautiful, but what really stood out to me was the service. The staff was pleasant, attentive, professional, and clearly focused on making sure the customers were taken care of. If you're thinking about eating at this restaurant, I'm telling you to do it. Support this business and tip well. We need more restaurants that understand great food is only part of the experience. Customer service is important, and Ou La gets that. There is metered parking directly in front of the restaurant. If those spots are full, there's additional parking in the lot behind the restaurant near the church. I would also suggest making a reservation, especially if you're planning to go during a busy brunch or dinner service.

We had the short rib empanadas, which were crispy and fully of meat. They were definitely the highlight of the night! The rasta pasta was good, but it came out warm and with few shrimp. The flavors were still excellent, however. The carrot cake for dessert was moist and not too sweet, which I prefer! The space was also super clean and well maintained. What really disappointed me was the service. We had a reservation, but had to wait to be seated even with plenty of open tables. That's normally not a big deal for us, but we had an event to get to tonight, so we were in more of a rush. Someone came to us to ask what water we wanted after 10 minutes of being sat, after which the hostess came back over to us to apologize that our server hasn't come over yet and asked if we would like water. Much more time passes and someone (still not our server) comes to ask us if everything is alright. We explain that no one has taken our order, which she apologized for and took our order for us. She then had to come back over because she forgot to include what protein we picked for our pasta. Finally, our server came over to us. We explained that we had already ordered. More hiccups continued throughout the night, including a long wait for the check, never being brought a dessert menu after asking, etc. I'm not one to complain about service, I just think they could be more efficient. At the time we arrived, there were only a few other tables seated in our area. It wasn't super busy, and there were a lot of people working. We overheard staff whispering about who was supposed to be taking care of us, and it still took time for someone to come over and help us. I think the staff knew we overheard or were disappointed in the service, because our dessert was free, and we received a bread basket as well. I'd love to give them another chance, just maybe not if I have plans after.
