This Vine opened after the original Vine near ASU campus in Tempe closed in 2022. That Vine was in an iconic A-frame building and had been there for 36 years. It was an old college hangout of mine. This location is in the Ahwatukee Foothills area at the end of a strip mall. I came here for a drink after hiking nearby Telegraph Pass Trailhead. Even though I have so many fond memories of the old Vine, this one is a lot different. It's not as much as a dive as the other location was and way more spacious. Definitely a much different atmosphere than the crazy college crowds that I remember from my younger days. I was invited to a private party for a Super Bowl at the Vine Tavern & Eatery. I've been by this place a few times. I never noticed it, it's located at the end of the strip mall by Fry's. The Vine has plenty of seating to go around. There is an outdoor patio off to the right of the restaurant. The bar has plenty of seats to go around; with booths and tables a plenty. The bar was open and there was a fixed appetizer menu of chips & salsa, onion rings, wings, and French fries. Their boneless wings with hot bbq were my favorite. Their onion rings were decent and with their house ranch dressing were a good combination. For our main entree there were beef and chicken fajitas which were tasty and your choice of flour or corn tortillas. Our sides consisted of beans and rice. I just missed the condiments for the fajitas. I know that had nothing to do with the restaurant, but the hosts of the party. Our team of servers was good. They followed up on a regular basis. I would give this place a try definitely to try their food menu. read more

This is a nice restaurant. I love going to their bingo on Wednesdays! The food is decent. But the fried pickles are delicious! I get them every time I go here. The service is not unbelievable but its okay. They have some arcade games for the kids and nice seating. There isn't much bad stuff to say about this place but it isn't super amazing compared to other. read more

I read a few reviews b4 coming in that said the music was too loud. So I came prepared to leave if that was the case. I was here on a Thursday at 5:30, music volume was at a good low level. I had French dip and it was pretty good. The bun was smaller (which I like) the meat was moist and tender. Better than Bleachers or CK's. However, the au jus left something to be desired, it tasted too heavy, salty and overcooked. I normally write good reviews but this has to be said. I am writing not to be mean but to provide input. We went to BINGO, which was open to the public, I suspect to generate business. that portionof the evening was fun. I called ahead to verify details and said we could have as many as 30 people. It was HOT and we asked no less than 3 times for them to turn down the AC (it read 82 degrees on the thermostat). The food was just minimal quality. The fries were soggy and undercooked, and the shrimp and the chicken tender baskets were "kid sized" portions for 13.59. The garden salad was old, wilted lettuce, and not even cold. I was afraid of getting sick and did not eat it. After we told them about the poor quality, they replaced the soggy fries. One person had a sandwich that was so salty they could not finish it. I hope they improve because if they do not, they risk potential guests going somewhere else. read more

My wife and I visited on 3/26 around 2pm. Nice, spacious, clean looking bar which was decidedly quiet for a lunchtime. Nobody really seemed interested in helping us and we had to go to the bar to ask if we should sit somewhere. When the waitress arrived, I asked her what she recommended. She told me, "We are known for our wings". When they came out, they were the smallest wings I have ever seen in my life. Highly disappointing. We've been coming to The Vine since our days at ASU when it used to be open in Tempe! We love the atmosphere and great service. We purchased our first home in Tukee and we are extremely excited to now have them in our neighborhood! They are located right behind the UFC gym. I'll start this review out with the positives, they have an awesome dog friendly patio and the food is always delicious. The negative side is that they up charge for every little thing that they can and basically nickel and dime you. My wife and I have been going here since last fall about once a week on the weekends and I stop in for lunch after golf 2-3 times a month. We always knew they are more expensive than for example CK's, but because of the dog friendly patio we accepted it. This past Friday night however was the last straw. My wife and I both ordered the special, which was fish and chips. We asked to add garlic sauce to the fries. When we got the bill we had been charged an additional $8 for garlic fries. I assumed it was a mistake since we hadn't ordered an extra order. The waiter came back and said that his GM was there and had told him that was the up charge for 2 orders of garlic sauce!!!! $4 each for 2 small cups of sauce??? The manager refused to even come to our table and talk with us about it! Our server knew we were regulars, and I could tell he was uncomfortable about this, but just kept apologizing. The food is terribly over priced and very underwhelming. Ordered a cheeseburger and tots. The burger was around 16 dollars, there was an upcharge for cheese, and an upcharge for tots, all told the burger was over 20 dollars. Which if it was good I would not have minded paying. The burger tastes like one you could get for school lunch, no flavor, bun was 4 times the size of the patty and served with half a head of lettuce. We had 4 in our party, one ordered happy hour tenders, the rest of us off the menu, the bill was over 100 dollars. Ridiculous. And 1 glass of Dr. Pepper will set you back about 4 dollars. Tried this place again. We had 2 happy hour items and 3 happy hour beers. Also placed a to go order which was a regular priced chicken wrap for $16.99. The bartender asked which side we wanted with it. I asked what goes with it. She replied with a few items and I said ok and picked tots. Well apparently that was an extra $3.00. So total of $20.00 for a wrap and tots!!! End bill was $65. Insane price even on happy hour. I really wish this place was more reasonable on their prices. The food is just ok. read more

So the Vine relocated to the 'Tuke. I've eaten at the one on Elliot in Tempe, and figured that it was pretty much the same. Boy was I wrong! We went there last Saturday to watch college football, have a beer and sandwich. I ordered the Ruben, my date a Chinese Chicken Salad. Back when I worked short order for a private country club in Ohio (remember the movie "Caddyshack"? I thought it was a documentary) a Ruben was comprised of layers of sauerkraut, corned beef, Swiss cheese and thousand island dressing. I need to emphasize the concept of LAYERS. Discrete layers of the ingredients. What I got was a mixture of 3 of the 4 ingredients; I'm still not sure swiss cheese was included. Seriously, it was all blended up on the grill and placed between slices of marble rye. I make better Rubens at home, and that's with 6 beers in me. The Chinese Chicken Salad was just as bad. A pile of romaine, some carrot shavings, a few other ingredients, and chicken nuggets on top. Yes, the same crappy, tasteless, over breaded fried chicken nuggets the kids would beg for at the country fair. The good news is that they didn't screw up the beer. One other thing; it's loud in there, and that's without having the TV volume turned on. They really need to invest in some sound dampening materials. That location has been a number of restaurants through the years. The first one I don't remember, but they did serve a mean steak. Then it was Angry Crab, which was really pretty good and a shame when it closed, and now The Vine. If they can't get some of these issues ironed out soon, it will return to it's unoccupied state. And they better hurry. The parking lot at Philly's on Warner was packed at 9am Sunday. The Vine, not so much. read more
